View Full Details of Wyndham HouseBrilliant staff kept us informed, kept in touch throughout. Dealt with any issues promptly and professionally. Really great team did absolutely everything they could to make us all feel welcome and to ultimately find an appropriate place for mum.
I visited the residential home at the beginning of the month- it was my first time and pleasure. I've never seen such a beautiful and well organised place! The members of staff were so polite, kind and devoted to the residents, all team was hard working and united in delivering great service, management was fully engaged and supportive, the house is so clean, the activities that day were making everyone happy. We've had live music on (played by one of managers and local musicians), pizza making, bikers show which put excitement on resident's faces, there were tears of joy, lots of laughter..I loved the beautiful garden - it was so well kept, and I was impressed how warm and inviting are the residential rooms. I would be happy to stay there, but I still have to many years to go ! Very professional and well organised 5 star residential home, highly recommended for everyone who wish to stay in house that is being in high standards. Thank you for an amazing experience Daria & Wyndham House
Mum and dad both loved their time at Wyndham House, but as their conditions worsened, and my dad had a fall breaking his hip meaning he needed additional care that Wyndham were not able to cater for. They have moved to another nursing home. I chose this as it is in the same group under Somerset Care. So are they seem happy in their new home. Thank you Wyndham for making the transition as easy as it could be.
I was very impressed by the ambience of Wyndham House when I visited on their recent open day. The staff I spoke to we welcoming and kind and everyone was clearly keen to make sure the residents were being looked after well. The residents I spoke to were really enthusiastic about the activities that had been organised, especially the motorbike cavalcade where about a dozen local bikers had brought their bikes along to display. Even though it rained everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
Very friendly and caring staff. Both my parents are in Wyndam House. They are in a friendly and caring place very homely atmosphere, and we'll be looked after. They were able to bring their reclining chairs from home, which made them feel at home. I would not want them anywhere else.
What a wonderful and caring home Wyndham House is. I and my uncle have been so impressed with the whole experience since the first meeting with the management team at the assessment stage. The care and thought that went into the preparation of his room and the subsequent welcome was very reassuring and very much appreciated by my uncle and the rest of the family. I have had lots of experience visiting care homes and I can say without doubt that Wyndham House and the caring staff is the very best. My uncle is there for a 2 weeks Respite Break but after only a couple of days there he has told me he would like to stay full time 10/10. Thank you.
My sister arrived for a two week respite care as her husband is seriously ill with cancer and onset dementia, my sister has had several strokes and finds some tasks hard. In the two weeks my sister was in the care of Wyndham House, I could see the change in her, uplifted, happy and like a new woman under the circumstances, the staff were amazing, the food was fabulous! Always something to do also. Highly recommend. I personally would like to thank all of you for making my sisters two week stay amazing! My sister is going through a really tough time at the moment, with her husband terminally ill with cancer, and the on set of dementia. She sometimes finds it hard to find the right words to communicate with her strokes she has had in the past, it takes patience and care to listen to her, all the staff at Wyndham House have made her feel heard, listened to, cared for and so welcome. So much so that is is calling Wyndham House her second home, and wishes to return one day. The food is outstanding! My sister keeps telling me how lovely the cakes are and about all the fabulously delicious meals that she's had. The activities have been a great icebreaker, as when my sister arrived she was very nervous and anxious being in a new place, but now she has really come out of her shell, gaining confidence from embracing new activities to going out on her electric scooter on her own for the first time! (she is so very proud of this accomplishment, as are we!) The care has been exemplary! From cozy chats one to one to having her hair done (which I have to say, is the best hair do my sister has had). My sister has made some lovely friends too with people that are staying in the care home, this too has helped boosted her spirits. I've watched my sister arrive ay Wyndham House two weeks ago, nervous, sad, lost, absolutely exhausted and worrying about her husband and her future. She is leaving, confident, happy, restored and like a new woman. Wyndham House team have given my sister this up lift which I am eternally grateful to you all. I just want to thank everyone and it is everyone that has made this possible, cleaners, caregivers, hairdressers, kitchen staff, activities staff and management, you all are a piece of the puzzle that has made this possible. I value you all as the fabulous team that you are. You have rebuilt my sister in two weeks respite care, WOW that's outstanding! Thank you all so much.
My Mum was at Wyndham House for two years and during that time she was well cared for every day until she passed away. The staff are some of the kindest people I have ever met, from the manager through to everyone who worked there. I was always kept informed about Mum's health and wellbeing, with a call to me if anything changed. She was encouraged to get up in the morning, take part in activities and chat to other residents, but never forced to. If she chose to get up late, then she could. Her room was small, she only went there to sleep though so it wasn't a problem. The food is varied and cooked extremely well, lots of treats as well as a balanced diet. Outside, the garden area is large and well maintained, Mum enjoyed sitting there on sunny days. As her time neared its end all the staff were so kind and caring, not only to Mum, but to my husband and I as well. If I could give them six stars I would.
My husband and I visited the home today and were very impressed by the care given to our friend. She was well dressed and groomed, very happy. She told us that the yellow coats provided excellent activities. Her room was clean and comfortable and the food excellent. She was well cared for by the nursing staff.
My wife has been attending Wyndham House for one day a week for a couple of years now. I am totally confident she receives the best of care. She is totally reliant on her carers for everything. She is always happy when I fetch her and has enjoyed the range of enrichment activities put on her the residents. She has developed trust in the staff who work hard to ensure both her physical and emotional needs and well catered for. I thank the staff for adding to her social interactions and making her life more positive.
Wyndham House provides an essential respite time between a spell in hospital and home with organised home help/support. The staff were all kind, thoughtful and nothing too much trouble. As one of the younger 'inmates' I found end-of-day meals somewhat limiting but appreciate it suits most of the clients.
Since my mother-in-law in the home, she has settled in really well - has joined in lots if activities. When she lost her partner, the staff were very kind and helped her stay active and not stay in her room. We find the home very welcoming and Mum loves it there.
Excellent staff, very attentive. The manager was very approachable. Tea was offered to us as guests as well as residents. All staff were attentive to our needs. A credit to themselves and residents. Well done.
All the staff address you by name. They are very knowledgeable, caring and reassuring. The food is good and of high quality. The cakes were excellent! The rooms are okay, loos nearby. TVs are available. There are three lounges, one with TV.
My husband is a resident at Wyndham he is a changed man since being moved here. The staff are amazing always welcoming, he is really happy here couldn't wish for a better home. The entertainment they put on for residents is great and my husband enjoys joining in highly recommended, lovely place.
Just need to put this in writing, a huge thank you to absolutely everyone at Wyndham House. Both my parents were residents at Wyndham, sadly my mother passed on the 22nd December, it was very peaceful but leaving my father broken. The care and affection given to my dad over the past couple of weeks cannot be bettered. Christmas Day a table was laid in a private room and a wonderful meal was given to my dad, my wife and I. Every member of staff that came in was so pleasant and helped make light of a sad time. I can honestly say that the staff there are there for the good of the residents, they have a vocation, nothing is too much trouble and there’s always a smile. It’s comforting knowing a parent is being looked after especially when you are four-plus hours away.
Our 96 year old father came to Wyndham House for 4 weeks respite care and left a changed man, having been given encouragement and support to be more independent and having felt as if he'd stayed in a very good hotel! Many of the staff were exceptional, being sensitive to Dad's needs and showing respect for his dignity at all times often aware of any possible problems before they happened. Being a larger care home meant that he was offered services such as hair, foot and nail care which he'd been unable to access easily at home, as well as social activities. He really enjoyed the variety and quality of freshly prepared home-cooked food, especially the cakes and porridge! The dining room staff made sure he was able to eat independently and with dignity and soon understood his preferences. Although his room seemed rather small and did not have private facilities except for a hand basin, his personal care was respectful and of a high standard and he felt comfortable and safe.
A warm and friendly reception. The staff are always welcoming and smiling. Staff remember my husband's name. The home gives the appearance of staff who are happy despite the difficulties. Room are warm and comfortable.
Mum has been at Wyndham House for a few months. She's been well looked after, with care, respect, dignity, and sense of humour! The staff supporting Mum are also supporting us, emotionally, it's so very hard to entrust someone else to care for your loved one as you did. All staff are approachable and any issues can be raised promptly and are dealt with with professionalism. From observation 90% of staff work extremely hard, to maintain high standards, and some will do the bare minimum. But the care standard is high, the atmosphere is cheerful, welcoming. Thank you to ALL staff for the role you each play in Mum's care.
I looked after my brother in law for 33 years and him and his parents before that, the care he receive at Wyndham was wonderful he really enjoyed it there and loved his food. He had a wonderful 6 years there. My husband said if ever he had to go into a care home he wants to go there, and I would also.
