View Full Details of Walton Park Care HomeI am deeply disappointed by the way Walton Part Care Home operates. From my experience, it feels like as though the management is far more concerned with financial gain than with the actual wellbeing of the residents. Decision to help is zero, the manager, extremely rude, cold and money-driven. A care home should prioritise dignity, comfort and emotional support - but sadly, those values appear to be secondary here. Families entrust their loved ones to this facility, expecting empathy and professionalism, not indifference marked by invoices. The worst management ever. I sincerely hope they improve, thinking of people and not money. More to say but not enough space here.
Walton Park Care home staff go above and beyond with love and care. They treated my dad as family and nothing was too big or small. They helped us through a tough time with such affection. Having had a bad experience at another home, this was so refreshing and we soon learnt what "care" should look like I can not recommend them enough. Thank you from all our family
The most amazing care was given to my Dad. Staff treated him with dignity, respect and guided us as a family through Dads deteriorating health and end of life. They looked after our family as well as my Dad and we felt nothing was too much trouble. Staff are fantastic, facilities better than most hotels I've stayed in. Their admittance process was quick and tailored to Dads needs and staff all treated Dad as a very much loved member of their family. I am so glad he spent his final weeks in such an amazing place.
The care staff in general are all so caring considerate and kind. The cleaning staff go above and beyond their duties assisting my father with putting the correct TV. channel on, and having conversations with him. I especially would like to praise the 'clinical Lead' of the care home as she goes above and beyond. Dad can be difficult at times being very confused with dementia. Dads needs a lot of care with leg ulcers and infections daily and the 'Clinical Lead' attends to his every need.
Walton Park care home welcomes my mum in enthusiastically and with so much compassion and care I was blown away. The gorgeous new, purpose built facilities speak for themselves. The gardens are wonderful and the amazing ease with which each person can make use of it all still astounds me. But the personal level of care is what continues to move me each time I visit. Activities are targeted and personalised and made very accessible. And frequent. Each resident is known and understood and mum is so so happy there despite always saying she did not want to move out of home. Her individual needs are met so well and the kindness of each member of staff is like nothing I have ever seen before. She feels and we feel she is so lucky to be living there. The nursing care is second to none and the relationship with the doctors mean they are able to provide very speedy and properly diagnosed treatment if needed. It's incredible.
Overall good experience. Mum very anxious, carers took time with her to reassure her. Treated with dignity at all times. Excellent facilities. Effort made to accommodate food preferences. Home well managed.
My two week stay in Walton Park Care Home has been a great success. I came in needing help to recover from a serious fall and surgery. I was looked after extremely well, the staff were very kind and always available to help, and the food was excellent. I was offered meals that appealed to my lack of appetite. All in all, a very good experience. Thank you one and all.
My Dad has been a resident at Walton Park Care Home for just over a year. He has dementia with high needs and a very challenging sleeping pattern. Both staff and carers have worked closely with us as a family to address this. Thanks to their determination and relentless patience he is now in a much better routine, sleeping less during the day and enjoying a fuller life. Walton Park has a very cosy atmosphere, it's a home away from home so to speak. Staff and carers are always very welcoming and friendly so you feel you can just pop in or stay as long as you wish. The food is excellent with a good selection and quality and the activities are varied and engaging. I never thought my Dad would participate but he really enjoys them. I've seen a great improvement in his mood and well being since he moved in because staff and carers have really taken the time to get to know him. I'm so grateful to them for creating such a positive and supportive caring environment.
My husband has been resident at Walton Park Care Home for a short while. It is early days, this being told to me by the team. However, I am deliberately not naming names as I would surely omit someone and it doesn't matter, as all staff have shown both him and indeed I such care, kindness and compassion. Their patience and understanding of his condition and how they engage with him is humbling. An inordinately difficult decision to make, however totally reassured that my husband is safe and cared for with both dignity and affection.
Walton Park Care Home has become a great caring community where family can feel confident their loved ones always comes first. Every member of the team there is always so kind, caring and welcoming, embracing family and friends and including them in everything they do. A special shout out to the activities lead who is exceptional and finds so many ways to entertain and encourage participation of residents. Dad has responded wonderfully to the activities programme, so no boredom! The food offered is delicious and cooked by a wonderful chef and his team who truly care what Dad wishes to eat, nothing is off the menu. W.P is spotlessly clean, fresh, well maintained and a pleasure for my dad to live there. The carers all know Dad's likes and dislikes as well as his funny little ways so it really is home from home for Dad.
We visit a friend. We have no idea about the staff, except for when they say hello. They don't seem very friendly. The facilities are excellent. As to the pasture's care, I have no idea.
My wife has found the daily activities really helpful in settling her. She has played scrabble again, which she had not done some time. It is obvious that other residents also enjoy them - in particular the sessions of balloon tennis and questions about his earlier wife arriving from the 'Daily sparkle'. The garden is coming into place in spring.
My mum has late-stage Alzheimer's & is in the nursing wing at Walton Park Care Home. The expertise she receives is second to none! She has really become very happy and relaxed. The facility is BEAUTIFUL, the equipment, beds, bathrooms are all new and top of the line. Management & admin are excellent, easy to contact and deeply compassionate and then lastly, and most importantly, the team of nurses & carers are wonderful, kind and professional. I am so thankful Mum is at Walton Park - thank you!
The care staff are wonderful and I felt that they really did care about my dad's welfare and well-being. The home it's self was warm, welcoming and always clean and tidy. The activity programme was great and I felt my dad benefited from it greatly, the daily sparkle was enjoyed by all of my family. The meals looked really nice and always catered for my dads needs, his particular highlights were the desserts and tea and biscuit time in the morning and afternoon. I witnessed a couple of residents birthdays and staff always decorated with ballons and celebrated with birthday cake and music for all of the residents to enjoy. My dads room was warm and cosy and was cleaned with fresh sheets daily. This was me and my dad's first experience of a nursing home, and Walton park made the experience less scary and way more welcoming. Thank you.
We were delighted by the care Mum had during her two weeks of respite care at Walton Park. The carers and nurses were attentive and thoughtful, and the food was excellent (particularly important for Mum!). People were always available to discuss Mum's care and the residents have lots of opportunities for activities. Walton Park surpassed our expectations! Thank you!
What can I say , From the time we entered the care home .all the staff are lovely ,The kindness, greeting, and care to my friend is amazing !! Not only to her but to myself and her son and daughter .Not only that you can see and feel the care they give residents !! So so glad she is in this care home simply the best .so love the hot chocolate!!
My father enjoyed his two week respite care, and although there was a little bit of resistance from him at times the carers and staff were all so patient wiith him. We will definitely use it again the next time we need respite or even daycare. Beautiful facilities and lovely staff. What more could you ask for? thank you.
Excellent care home. Looked after my husband very well. Staff were very friendly and kind. Always smiling and very welcoming. Clean and tidy always.
The care has been excellent. The treatment very good. I was a little surprised that there were few nurses on the dementia floor.
I am very pleased with the care my father is receiving at Walton Park. He has been there for more than 2 years and he seems happy. He has a large room with ensuite facilities. The staff are kind, friendly and helpful.
