View full details of Fletcher HouseMum has been at Fletched House for almost one year. She took a few weeks to settle. The staff were excellent at making her feel 'at home' Mum now will tell you that she is very happy, with all her needs being met. She has wonderful care by a great team of people. Her room is cosy and kept very clean. The food is amazing but if Mum fancies something else the kitchen will provide it if they can. WE haven't had a proble but feel sure it would be dealt with. We cannot praise this care home enough. To every member of staff - Thank you!!
On visiting my aunt, I have found Fletcher House to be warm and welcoming. My aunt is content and well looked after, the activities team add a lot of fun to the day. The care staff do want the best for her to. Larger windows in the day room of Petal so residents could see wants happening outside would be nice.
My parents have been living in Fletcher House for 2 -3 years. The home has in the past been in an unsettled state due to a quick change in managers. However, this has changed and with the arrival of a lovely friendly manager the running of the home has improved. All staff are kind, respectful and hard working. All departments of the home do their best for the residents and try to rectify problems when they can. Residents are always asked for their ideas, opinions and suggestions with the monthly residents and committee meetings. The activities team are friendly and try to organise meaningful , enjoyable activities and music. There are only 2 members of the activities team and would benefit from another member of the team to cover weekends. I have in the past found communicating with all members of staff quite poor however on giving feedback to the home this has definitely improved. In all..... my parents are safe and well cared for.
Friendly and helpful welcome whether visiting in person or on the phone .I feel my relative is safe and well looked after in Fletcher House XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
My relative has been a resident for 2 1/2 years. Staff and management have been generally caring and supportive. My relative's needs have changed in recent months, and feels staff (especially agency) have not stepped up to meet her needs at times. Communication has been an issue, and my relative's requests at times are not met. Staff seem to have little time to check things are ok. However, generally we are happy with the overall care, and staff do their best under pressure
Fletcher House is always welcoming. The staff are friendly & helpful.
A well run, warm and friendly environment. The Fletcher House team are professional, caring and attentive. Activities are always happening to stimulate and encourage the residents, and they create a safe and stable environment. Thank you.
My mother has been a resident of Fletcher House for two years. The care she receives is excellent. The staff are wonderful and go the extra mile to create a warm, loving and family environment within the home. Residents are actively encouraged to participate in a varied programme of daily events and activities as well as in the planning and choosing and monthly basis. In short, Fletcher House is a gem!!
Staff were welcoming and caring. Other residents were content. A helpful respite week for me, and my wife was cared for.
In recent weeks I have noticed good staffing levels and excellent leadership from the management team. They know my mum well and meet her individual needs. Staff are kind and friendly. Activities are good and no one is left out. Food seems decent and individual needs are well met. I wouldn't necessary have said this a year or so ago, but I have noticed great improvements under the new manager who cannot do enough for us.
Yesterday, a carer in Fletcher House, took my friend, who is a resident there, out for her Resident's Day outing and happily I was able to join them. I would like to thank him for the tremendous job he does. He was patient, caring, compassionate and charmingly cheerful, all of which made it a thoroughly agreeable and worthwhile outing. The kindness and understanding he showed my friend was uplifting. I appreciate the work that everyone at Fletcher House does but I specifically wanted to commend and thank to the carer for yesterday's excursion.
Well done to all the staff, and especially the activities staff for making Christmas enjoyable. However many difficulties they are facing, they are always cheerful and warm to the residents.
My daughters and I are very pleased with care and attention given not only to my husband but to us as a family when we visit or call. One example is how thoughtful the staff were on his birthday as the home was in lockdown. The staff still involved us on the phone which meant the world to us.
I fully appreciate the challenges involved in delivering the services and highly esteem the care/resident support staff. Unfortunately, some improvement is needed regarding administration and communication to reflect the standards displayed elsewhere. Despite 2 changes in managers since 2023 I have not been notified in either case directly, and the website is still not currently updated. All of my details as my father's property, for example, financials. Lasting Power of Attorney are held on record, but communication on these issues is passed to my brother to notify me. This is unsatisfactory to both of us. For all of January so far this year I have been unable to get through by phone, but told to call later by answerphone. Something clearly isn't working, but a management review, and resulting action, could easily introduce improvements required.
My partner was escorted to Fletcher House in March 2024. Her birthday soon came along and the staff helped her celebrate it. They managed to play some tracks sung by a famous singer who was her favourite singer. Our son has visited her and noticed how well the chef cooks. I am guessing she is enjoying a better diet than the one I provided when I was caring for her. I am sure Wells City is pleased to welcome Fletcher House a care home with impressive credentials.
All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Dad is receiving excellent care and is very happy where he is. He enjoys the food and loves his room. Communication is a bit lacking sometimes regarding appointments etc but it is realised that the staff are very busy and care comes first. The home is always clean and well-maintained. Definitely worth recommending to others.
Brilliant staff, communication and understanding, if ever you want to know anything, they are on the case.
Generally very pleased with the standard of care and cleanliness of Fletcher House. I don't visit as it upsets my mum, but I am kept fully informed. I am confident mum is warm, safe, well-fed, and cared for.
I cannot say enough positive things about the staff and the community at Fletcher House in Somerset. I have a relative who lives there and they have always been treated with the utmost dignity and respect. Their wishes are listened to and where possible followed and this has led to thriving and getting their life back following a period of difficulties prior to moving to Fletcher. It is a home, made by the amazing staff, who are so kind and caring and thoughtful about my relative. They go the extra mile and we work together. My relative is an avid reader and was facilitated to start and create a book group for anyone to join. When I review something, I always look at the important things and Fletcher gets the important things right. We all know that nothing can be perfect, but whatever years my relative has left, I know that they will be happiest because of the treatment care support dignity and respect shown to them and their family who visit on a day-to-day basis.
Fletcher House has been truly brilliant in looking after my dad, he is well cared for and the Activities Coordinator deserves to be recognised for his care, and love, towards the residents and always acknowledges visitors and gives us positive updated (dad loves him)! All the staff have made the transition comfortable for dad, and always reassure him on not-so-good days. Dad has settled beautifully thanks to the hard-working staff.
