View full details of Elstree View Care Home - Avery CollectionMy mother, who has been in this facility for almost 6 years and has dementia, has been looked after by the staff as well (probably better) than I or my family could have done. Also, the staff (cleaners, food staff, carers and particularly the manager at Elstree). Treat my family and I with friendliness, understanding, time and attention. Personally, I think the best choice we could have imagined for mothers' care has been shown at Elstree Views.
We were thrilled to find Elstree View and the moment we both walked im, we both felt that my mother-in-law, who had been in rehab following a nasty fall would finally realise that she could no longer cope with living on her own. Elstree View has given her a new stage in her life, and she seems to be so very happy with the home, which truly feels like a home. She is loving the meals, the room and hopefully will get to make some new friends.
From the minute we walked through the doors and were greeted by the smiling, happy staff we felt my 93 year old mum would be happy. She kept saying she must be dreaming as everything and everyone was so kind, caring and friendly. Instead of dreading the coming years, especially the winter, my mum can enjoy as much independence as she wants but with the bonus of being cared for by lovely staff, delicious meals, lovely surroundings and never feeling lonely. We feel very grateful we found Elstree View for her next chapter in life.
Excellent grounds, beautifully maintained, making for lovely strolls in soothing surroundings and a wonderful site for summer outdoor parties/activities. Gradual restoration and upgrading of areas, starting from lounges to rooms. High standard of decor. Very approachable and friendly carers, high degree of professionalism, Same for management, who are generous with their time and helpfulness. Extra carers always benefit residents in terms of giving company and stimulation. You're right on track and making good progress.
Mum has settled into the home very well and loves it. She has received excellent care from the staff who are very kind to her and all her needs are taken care of. The food is also excellent. Putting mum in Elstree View was the best decision.
My cousin Carol has been a resident at Elstree View since April 2024. The care and attention she has received has been of the highest order, and she is relaxed and comfortable. She is suffering with dementia and the staff care and help her on certain difficult days, and I can only praise and thank them for there help and experience, and know how they reassure and help ease her.
My stepmother moved into Elstreeview March 2022 having spent 5 weeks in respite the year before. All the staff were wonderful in initially getting her to settle in and after over 3 years she is happy, content and considers Elstreeview her home. As I live abroad and she doesn't have any close family I know that I can be confident she is always well cared for with kindness, I'm regularly updated and I feel lucky to have found Elstreeview for her I cannot speak highly enough of the care and attention she has been given over the years, all the staff are kind, friendly and caring.
My mother moved in recently for respite care after a fall and UTI infection. She is being given all the care and attention she needs by kind and caring staff who have patience and the right experience dealing with newcomers to the home and any worries that they have. The Chef is outstanding and pampers to every need regarding dietary requirements and the admin staff are excellent in their manner and efficiency.
My mother had a most fantastic two week respite stay at Elstree View. The experience was incredible at every step of the journey. Prior to going to the home, the client relationship and wellness managers assessed my mother's needs and made sure they were met during her stay. All the staff were fabulous. They each took pride in their work and the care home. They are wonderful with the residents, treating them with the greatest of respect and kindness. Always with a smile on their faces, they are all terrific. The facilities are beautiful - the communal lounge and dining areas as well as the garden and private rooms. There were activities on offer each day, catering for different needs and interests. The residents seemed happy and were all lovely to each other. All in all, my mum had a great experience, as did I when I visited! I am sure my mum will be back for another respite stay to recharge her batteries! Thank you Elstree View!
My mother has been a resident at Avery, Elstree for two years. In that time she has been very well cared for and settled in very quickly. Mum enjoys all the many activities on offer. Mum always enjoys the lovely meals and looks forward to getting together with the other residents. There is a really great atmosphere created here at Avery and all the staff are so approachable and friendly.
My mum has been at Elstree View for almost two years now, and she absolutely loves it. From the moment you walk in, the place feels so friendly and welcoming. The staff are genuinely kind and caring, and it means the world to see how happy she is. She's always busy with activities and even goes on outings- it's like she's come back to life and found a new spark. Honestly, it feels like she's ten years younger.
Sadly my lovely 98 year old mother fell at home and broke her hip. After a successful hip replacement at the hospital and rehabilitation at Hemel, which was a waste of time, I found Elstree view for a months respite care. From the moment I walked into the lovely home and met the incredibly helpful managers and staff, I knew it was a perfect home for my mother..we are now 3 weeks into respite care and there is no way my mother could go back to her home, therefore she has decided to become a full time resident and enjoy the care that Elstree View offers.
My mother initially arrived at Elstree for respite care in July 2024, after she had had a fall and broken her hip. As she has been so happy there and well looked after, she decided to stay permanently. My mother is very sociable and could sometimes get very lonely at home, so it's been wonderful to see how much happier she is now. She has made lots of lovely friends and the staff are outstanding. They all genuinely care and nothing is too much trouble. All her medical needs are looked after by the excellent in-house nurses and the accommodation is newly furnished to a high-spec. My mother really enjoys the food and the entertainment laid on is regular and to a high standard. The surrounding gardens are very pretty and a nice place to have tea in the afternoons when the weather is nice. My family and I couldn't be happier with the way my mother is being cared for and feel very lucky to have found Elstree. Thank you to all the staff for making my mother's transition so smooth!
Dad's Care Home was originally known as 'Sunrise' it was taken over by 'Signature' and latterly it's run by 'Avery'. The home has recently had a complete makeover in all communal areas and bedrooms; it looks really luxurious. The Home is on two floors and guests with dementia, needing more intensive care, live on the second floor. The Care Home has always been very welcoming and attentive. Especially the home's Manager and her staff, who have all been wonderful to my father, throughout his stay. The medical support has been excellent and communication is very good, too. Picturesque setting at Elstree View and adequate parking. We are very happy and we thoroughly recommend this Home. I do have concerns that some key staff have left and this could have been avoided. Overall, Elstree View are doing a great job, thank you.
My parents moved into the home 12 years ago, when they were still active and mobile. They enjoyed their independence while at the same time feeling safe in a protected environment. As they became less able to fend for themselves, they relied more on the care and services offered to them, especially as illnesses began to surface. I have always found the staff friendly and caring and always there to help. Now that my mother is on her own, she still feels secure, receiving all the care that she needs. I feel happy that she is being well looked after and I can visit her at any time.
My mum started her time at Elstree View in Assisted Living and has now been in Orchids for a year. Her care is wonderful. The staff are kind and caring and my mum is very content and happy. They seem to know what she needs and when and you can see by and way mum responds to the carers she trusts and loves them. When she can, she joins in with activities but she is happiest in her room being cared for. Thank you to all the staff in Orchids and to all the staff who help and support her.
The staff are always on hand and very attentive to my father and stepmother's needs. Nothing appears to be too much trouble, and the staff are always responsive to questions raised. The quality of the food is satisfactory but the service could improve slightly by serving hot food. Overall, very happy with the service provided.
My relative has moved into Elstree View Care home in early March when she was discharged from a recent admission to hospital. The whole process has been brilliant. All the staff that I have met so far are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The admission process was done so efficiently - from viewing the Home to admission was less than a week. Her care has been exemplary. The food is plentiful and tasty with good choice. The building, communal areas and individual rooms are beautiful - freshly decorated with continuing decorating happening in some areas. The entertainment is varied and staff help her to become involved in activities, if she wishes. The clinical and medical care is regular and far easier to access than when she was at home. We feel she is much better looked after 24/7 and much safer in the Home than with a carer in her own home.
My sister has been a resident at this care facility for many years. She is now going through a particularly difficult phase of her life. I find that the standard of care is exceptionally good. The staff treat her with compassion and empathy. I am regularly updated.
My dad moved into Elstre View Care Home in October. The staff have all come out of their way to help him settle in and he is now an active member of the community. He has lived more in the last 3 months than he has in the last three years. He is very comfortable, happy and safe and I can visit him as his daughter and share in his happiness.
