View Full Details of Beechwood Residential Care HomeMy father had been very ill in August and we placed him for 12 days Respite care at Beechwood, Holly Green, Upton on Severn. The staff were all very kind & friendly and professional. They welcomed us all, made my dad feel very at home and quickly they learnt all his needs. The care was outstanding. The food wonderful and the homely atmosphere a joy. After 12 days my dad was walking with his frame to go for coffee and for lunch where at home he was unable to walk. Fabulous care and attention from all staff.
Eve and the team made dad very welcome and made all dad's children at this very difficult time feel we had made the correct decisions. dad is very happy (treated like a king his words) Lovely place Strongly recommend Extremely pleasant staff every time we visit and always find time to say hello Just can not do enough for you
We arranged for my mother to reside in Beechwood for respite care after having a fractured hip. Her stay there was 12 weeks in total. Mother loved the staff she found them kind and considerate and the meals they provided were excellent. There are a vast amount of activities, Mother enjoyed the trips out in the mini bus the most and said that Dee who organised and encouraged the residents to participate in these outings was amazing. Although Mother wanted to return to her own home she was sad to leave as she had felt 'at home' at Beechwood and said she would miss the lovely staff.
My husband attends Beechwood as a Day Care User once a week. I was a bit anxious as to how he would react to this but it is working out much better than I could have expected. My husband asks each day if he is going. He clearly enjoys himself. From the moment we enter the doors we are greeted and my husband is immediately engaged in conversation about what he is having for lunch which distracts him from worrying about leaving me. He goes off happily which sets my mind at rest. When I collect him he is always quite content and the staff give me a brief outline of what he has been doing. There seems to be a variety of activities on offer and he especially welcomes the chance to chat with other people. I am so confident the my husband will be well looked after that we have booked some respite care for him later this year.
My wife was a resident for two years suffering from Alzheimer's. She was unable to speak, walk or do anything for herself. The care and attention that was given to her was wonderful during the time that she was in care. Furthermore I was kept fully informed on any issues or change in her medication. The staff are very dedicated and always available.
Mum received excellent care during the 16 months she spent at Beechwood. From the transition period from home to the care home through to the sad passing of Mum, the staff couldn't have been more supporting, providing the care, love and dignity we all would wish for.
My father thrived at Beechwood. He received outstanding, hollistic care and his complex dementia needs were consistently met. He was always treated with dignity and kindness. Communication with me was excellent and as POA for health and welfare, I always felt fully included in any decision about my father's care plan. The environment is spacious, light and stimulating and the staff kind and friendly. I couldn't have asked for more for my father.
Treatment of mum are the but 3 years has been outstanding. Her last few days she was treated with dignity and empathy. Many thanks to all staff + management.
My mother and stepfather have been visiting The Beechwood as guests for a few years now and chose it for when the time came for themselves to need additional support. My stepfather spent three weeks there as a respite resident whilst he recovered from a hip replacement surgery and always spoke - and continues to speak - exceedingly highly of the staff, their work ethic, their compassion and kindness, and the support he received. He also loved the food! My mother is now at The Beechwood as a full-time, permanent resident as she has Alzheimer's and vascular dementia. It was extremely hard letting our mum go and putting her in as a resident, but the manager went out of her way to reassure both us and her; and I know now having tried to care for her myself at home, that this type of care requires a team of professional, highly dedicated, kind people. This team is at the Beechwood.
My mum has been a resident for just over a month now, having moved from a different care home to be closer to me. I can't thank the staff enough for all they have done to help her settle in so quickly. She has dementia, so any change is a big deal, but I haven't seen her looking so relaxed in a long time. It's great that she can walk around the home and into the garden, which she will love when the weather is better. And she keeps busy 'helping' with things which suits her much better than just being sat in front of the TV. Sadly, I've had reason to visit a lot of different care homes over the last few years and Beechwood Residential Care Home is the best by a long way.
Mum came into Beechwood Residential Care Home in June and has settled in very well. All the staff there are really professional and caring. The environment and layout are very nice as the place is divided into separate areas, each with its own day room and kitchen. This means that all the residents are not gathered together in one large area. The gardens are lovely and mature. The staff were also fantastic when my dad passed away there and kept us informed about his condition and when we should come down to see him. Slight negative is that the rooms are quite small with no en-suite but Mum spends most of her time in the day room anyway. Overall, I am very satisfied with the care, cleanliness and professional and friendly staff at Beechwood and am happy we chose the place for Mum.
I moved here as part of an action by the Fire Brigade to rescue me from an incipient flood. It was altogether so pleasant and far away from my experience of ill health and reduced mobility at home that I decided to stay. So I have sold my house and am using the money to pay for my stay. Nothing is too much trouble for the delightful staff who work here and they will always make time to talk or help in whatever way they can. They really care. The residence is very clean and in beautiful surroundings. I am looking forward to staying here for a long time yet.
I like the way that the building is on one level with beautiful gardens to look at through the windows. In the summer, the French doors to each unit are open with a gentle, fresh breeze blowing through. Each unit is a little family. There is never enough time and twice as many carers would be perfect but not in the real world. Everyone is caring and treats the residents with dignity. Mealtimes are important and a good social time.
The lovely staff at Beechwood Residential Care Home supported my husband with the transition into residential care and he has settled well. He likes everyone there and they work hard to make it a real home and are so welcoming to visitors.
My uncle has been a resident for many years and has always received the best of care. The staff are respectful of his needs and are always happy to discuss any worries I may have. I live a distance away and I am notified quickly and caringly of any worries the staff have between my visits.
I can't fault my aunt's care, she is so well looked after. Beechwood Residential Care Home is clean, homely and all the staff are so kind and caring. I've booked my room, can't wait.
Mum is well looked after at Beechwood Residential Care Home. All staff members know her by name and treat her with the utmost kindness and respect. She's evidently happy and at home here. Her personal care is attended to with an understanding of her needs but also an understanding of her wishes, which are not always aligned!
A massive thank you to the amazing team at Beechwood for their kind, compassionate and incredibly supportive care for our Mum throughout her two-year stay. They ensured throughout my Mum's time with them that she was treated with the utmost dignity and respect, we were always kept informed and supported as a family on her journey. Sadly, my Mum died in April 2024, but what was amazing was the empathy and compassion demonstrated to the end. The team worked tirelessly to ensure they adapted to all of my mum's requirements and worked so diligently to ensure she was happy and comfortable. We will be forever grateful and would not hesitate to recommend Beechwood to anyone else.
The Beechwood team provide a consistently high standard of care for Mum with a good understanding of her individual needs. She enjoys the range of activities available and there is a real family feel to the home, with residents grouped into smaller units where they can eat together, relax and socialise. Visitors are always made to feel very welcome and staff are friendly and approachable. Regular meetings are also held to update friends and family on plans and give opportunities for discussion and feedback. Overall warmly recommended.
As a neighbour and close friend of a resident who moved into the Beechwood nearly two years ago and who visits him regularly, I cannot speak too highly of the care he has received from all the staff members at all times. Particularly evident is the cheerful, friendly atmosphere which pervades all areas of the home, from the manager downwards. There are plenty of activities arranged for the residents and regular opportunities for residents and staff to meet and discuss matters affecting all areas of the home. An outstanding successful feature is the division into separate areas for relaxation and the eating of meals enabling those in each area to get to know each other well, while communal activities ensure there is plenty of opportunity for wider communication between residents.
