View Full Details of Hillside Care HomeWe have been pleased with my Mother-in-laws care, she seems settled and happy. The home is tired and in need of a refurb (which I know is being planned). Meal's look good and healthy, and plenty of hot and cold drinks provided through out the day. The carers have been approachable and supportive in some difficult times, I visit a couple of times a week and have seen lovely social activities with all the residents and the staff do try and keep an upbeat and happy atmosphere.
I can say that the team at Hillside have been really supportive to both our friend and us. Everything from being shown around initially to taking us through the process needed to arrange a room for our friend has been amazing. This support has continued and we really appreciate how much support and advice we have been given. We feel confident that our friend is being very well looked after - from feedback both from our friend and the help we have experienced first hand. We were recommended to Hillside and I would certainly recommend them to all our friends and family. We have found every single member of staff to be very welcoming and they always find the time to say hello and make sure we have any support or help needed, or even a cup of tea when we visit! There is definitely a lovely feeling of homeliness and care. I would like to say a special thank you to Marta and Lee who have both been very supportive and helpful.
My mum is well cared for by all the staff at Hillside. They encourage independence and assist when needed. They have time to have a chat with mum, while doing their jobs/checks and always with a smile.
Although the care home is tired and in need of new carpet and furniture, the care given to mum and I has been good most of the time Her wishes and mine have been respected and appreciated The food has been ok. Interesting at times with the different chefs and their skills. I feel it sometimes understaffed although I've been told it's not I made friends with most of the staff and in the early days when it was busy , there was a lot of laughter at times
As a fulltime carer, I needed a break and made a visit. Right from the start, I was greeted by very pleasant and helpful staff who went overboard with explanations, etc. Decision made, my wife went in for 3 weeks respite care, and I could not have wanted for anything better. Staff were great, the food looked good and not once did I hear the wife complain or say she wanted to go home. If the need arises again, I would have no hesitation in going back to this care home. Many thanks to all.
Over all care from staff is good. Staff that I have come in contact with are friendly. The only concern we have is the quality of the food. My grandad consistently complains that the food is not good.
The care home has been extremely supportive in the transition of my mother and father, coming from their own home into hospital and then onto residential care. I have always been updated on any requirements my parents need, and they have acted very professionally and with kindness. Not only to my parents but to my husband and myself. We are always, when visiting, welcomed with a friendly smile.
The staff at Hillside Home have been so helpful in settling my parents in after they had to leave the bungalow where they had lived for 50 years. This has made the transition so much easier for all concerned than it might have been.
My ex husband wasn't in Hillside for very long and I wasn't a weekly visitor, so my experience was quite limited. I always found the staff very pleasant and helpful. My ex may not have been the easiest of patients I am not his next of kin anymore, but I would have liked to have seen his hair/beard tidied more often, but he often refused to agree to that. I did it when I could. He is now in another home.
We had to make the difficult decision to put my nan into Hillside care home for a respite period due to my grandad becoming unwell! The staff and carers at Hillside couldn’t have been more helpful and supportive! They consistently reassured us and my Nan during her stay and the care that my nan received from them was second to none and the support we received from them as a family was fantastic!
I wish to comment on the staff’s compassion and caring nature concerning my mother and to my brother and myself. They were fantastic from start to the finish and so helpful at a difficult time in making my mum welcome and giving us honest and thoughtful feedback as to how mum was coping. They found my mum’s character to be amusing at times which warms my heart and they’ll all be at the forefront of my memories of Mum spending time with these special people. My mum sadly passed away this week yet still they offer support to me and my family which we are ever grateful. Thanks again team and a pleasure to have met you all.
My objective is to improve myself so I can return to normal life and make use of a stick for walking and support. They do not supply a specific service to improve mobility, but there are skilled training staff, and my mobility has certainly improved. Likely to need support such as a stick.
Appalling, friendly at first, the outside areas not in use, I believe for over 2 years but was not told. Constantly asking for my mum to be washed, which she wasn't, constantly asking for air ventilation in her room, ignored. Bad management, did not wash her, no medical plan shown. Avoid! Mum went into respite and died. Some staff ignorant as busy on phones. Please don't put your loved ones in here there are better homes in Sudbury.
All the staff are friendly, welcoming and kind to me and my mother. My mother is always clean, comfortable and content. The staff went above and beyond for Mum's most recent birthday. They are the best.
While my mum was with you she was very happy. She was well looked after by all the staff. She was comfortable and felt at home, we could not ask for more. We are so grateful that Mum was so happy in the final part of her life.
My mother is well looked after. The staff got to know her quickly which helped her settle in well.
Hillside Care Home I found a lovely place. Clean and tidy, the staff of carers and kind, helpful, caring and attentive. All in all a nice place, I can rest assured my mum is cared for very well and properly looked after.
I was delighted to find this care home close to where my mother had lived for many years The residents always looked cared for and happy. Although I am sure the staff are worked hard during their shifts, they always come across as being relaxed and happy in what they do. It is a very pleasant home, open and airy, and lovely rooms for the residents to sit and socialise. I am happy in knowing Mother is cared for very well here.
My mother has been a resident since 2014 and has loved the care and attention she has received. Recently her circumstances have changed, she is now in bed all day and can't go to the lounge anymore for the fun things they do there each day but the team still pops in to see her and listens to her concerns, and makes her feel that she is still a part of the Hillside Family. The staff are very good at keeping us, the family updated with things going on in the Home and also with what's happening with Mum. I just can't praise all the Hillside staff enough, those faces we see and the faces we don't see behind the scenes.
Mum has been a resident at Hillside since April 2022. The home was highly recommended to me. Mum has settled well here. The staff is fantastic - all appear to be very caring. The room is good, but the general decor of the home appears a little tatty. The quality of food appears poor - this needs to be improved. Activities seem limited and not to the standard advertised. Communication between the home and myself is good. The manager is very approachable. Overall, I am happy with home. I feel mum is safe here and well looked after. The staff are definitely the main asset. If the food and activities were to improve, I would rate Hillside as 10/10.
