View Full Details of Lukestone Care CentreMy father joined Lukestone in November 2024 because he could no longer weight bare and his Alzheimer's disease was worsening. My brother and I could no longer look after him at home. All the staff made him feel very welcome and he was always kept clean, shaven and extremely well fed. There was a period when dad did join in the many activities that the girls did and I could see that he was enjoying himself. There was always enough staff in the lounge area and I felt that it had a happy family atmosphere. I got to know the staff and they would always answer any questions that I had and treat me as one of the family. I also made friends with some of the relatives who became a great support network. I loved the resident of the day idea and had Sunday lunch with my dad several times. Those memories I will treasure. The facilities are homely which personally I preferred for my dad. I wanted him to feel at ease and relaxed. The end of life care was excellent.
On arrival for the first time I was very impressed with the level of security in the care home from the codes on all doors and lift to checking in and out. There's no restriction on visiting hours and all staff that we encountered were polite, helpful and caring. My mum's room was immaculate and her clothes were changed regularly. She seemed to be quite content and interacted with staff in a positive way. I travelled from another country to see her and am very happy with the care she's receiving and have peace of mind leaving her. The manager explained mum's condition and care to us and promised to keep us updated on her progress. Overall I'm very impressed with the professionalism of all staff while still being compassionate to residents.
Due to the excellent care by all staff, I had an extra precious 13 months with my loved ones. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Even just sitting with him was very caring. I cannot stress how lovely and caring this nursing home is. It is a beautiful place.
Dad was a resident from Feb 2024 to April 2025 and was bedbound. Within a few weeks, he was up and mobile again. This is down to the outstanding care and commitment from the team here. This made dad's spirits lift and gave the true purpose to keep fighting his illnesses. He made a lot of friends here, especially the team. Taking part in various activities with exercises made fun. You cannot get better care than here. And communication between Lukestone and us was excellent too.
absolutely fantastic. looked after mum well. nothing was too much.
Absolutely wonderful home. The staff and managers made my life so much easier knowing my mum was being treated kindly and affectionately at lukestone. She genuinely enjoyed being there and she was then able to get full assistance for her ever increasing needs she felt safe and secure there and enjoyed all the interaction with the staff especially the music, the singing and the dancing. Again all lovely people with time and patience and it made my mums last months more pleasant and enjoyable - thank you x
My husband came here unable to walk unaided and now he can easily walk with the frame and even on his own. He has been eating well and says that the food has been very good. The staff have all been positive, friendly and helpful. The facilities are very good and the support excellent.
We feel so fortunate to have found Lukestone for Mum. Always greeted with a smile, always smells nice. Staff always attentive. Always find Mum clean. Room always tidy and clean. Staff always work hard h activities. Food always smells nice cooking. Despite all the hard work, staff manage to be happy, this transfers to residents, so good.
My mother was a resident of Lukestone since July 2023 and passed away in October 2024. She suffered from Mixed Dementia but was still very active, never could sit still, loved to walk, and always tried to help everyone including the visiting entertainment. From arrival to the end, the staff at Lukestone have provided exceptional care for Mum. Knowing Mum was safe and secure assured us that she was in the right place especially as her face would always light up when she smiled at the staff. All the staff, from the clinical leads to the activity staff were helpful, never too busy to answer questions, and were so gentle and thoughtful to Mum as well as the other residents. My family and I can't thank them enough for the care they gave Mum for her last few days and were so respectful when Mum passed away.
My mum has been at Lukestone for almost a year. All the staff at the home are kind, caring and treat all the residents with kindness, respect, and dignity. When we visit Mum, we are always asked if we would like tea or coffee. The nurses always keep us updated with how Mum is getting on. We are free to visit whenever we like and are often invited to any events that are planned at the home. I would be happy to recommend the home to anyone.
My husband is 83 years old and had a stroke 4 years ago and was then diagnosed with vascular dementia. He was bedridden, doubly incontinent, very confused and lost in his own words most of the time. He was admitted to Lukestone Care Centre 5 weeks ago for assessment as I could no longer look after him at home. I am so happy he was sent there as the care provided is wonderful. The management and staff are so helpful and caring, nothing is too much trouble and the sincerity of their feelings and actions towards the residents shines through. I and the family are permanently thanking them for their kindness and gentle actions towards the residents. Thank you Lukestone and bless you all.
Mum was admitted to Lukestone for assessment following several falls and the onset of dementia. This was my first experience of a care home and I was greeted by caring staff who looked after Mum leaving me with no doubts that she would be comfortable and safe. Mum has enjoyed all her meals and has never complained of being bored thanks to the lovely recreation team, Thank you Lukestone!
This home is so welcoming, there is always something going on to stimulate the residents. Any concerns you may have are dealt with and the care of the residents is faultless. As a visitor, I have been welcomed with a smile and offered a drink on arrival. A great home thanks to the management and caring happy staff.
the care Lukestone Care Centre residents receive for their diverse needs is excellent. My husband required nursing care and every member of staff, the nurses and especially the manager welcomed him with compassion. The care I received was excellent and I was updated on his well-being every day. During his short stay he enjoyed the socialising etc, was expertly nursed, cared for and finally passed away with dignity and at peace. I will be eternally grateful to everybody who made this possible. Thank you so very much.
My husband was moved to Lukestone after a spell in hospital. I was extremely worried as I have always maintained that he would never go to a care home. Unfortunately, his lack of mobility meant it was taken out of my hands. I can wholeheartedly say that the whole staff from management through to cooks and cleaners treat him with care, kindness and respect. He has also had a number of medical issues and the nurses have been outstanding. It’s hard leaving him when I visit but made easier when I know he couldn’t be better cared for.
Mum was a resident at Lukestone from 11/19 until 12/24. Throughout her time there, the team did everything possible to provide my mum with the best quality care and to deal with her OCD. This allowed my mum to feel safe and settled in what she considered her home.
Made to feel welcome, nothing is too much trouble. Very polite and very supportive. Always there to listen and to reassure. Very calm environment. I felt my husband was going to be looked after and cared for from day one.
My mother was only at Lukestone Care Home for a couple of months. During that time, we found the service provided very good. The staff were always polite and attentive, and the management was always very professional and informative. Her needs were met throughout her time there. The activities for the residents are excellent and varied. Overall, we were very satisfied with the service provided. Thank you.
Overall satisfaction. Staff are delightful, caring. Appearance of home has much improved. When using the 2nd floor shower I have needed to ask domestics to clean it before I could use it recent use I have noticed the cleanliness has improved. Bedrooms are tastefully decorated with good choice of soft furnishings. On seeing Mum's hot meals they look appetising but Mum has commented on hard carrots and peas.
From the time Mum entered Lukestone Care Centre to the day that she passed away, Mum was cared for with dignity, respect and love. She had nursing needs which the home met to a very consistent and high standard. This meant that Mum, who in the latter stages could not articulate her feelings, was always clean, comfortable and pain-free. We are very grateful to every member of staff... office staff, maintenance staff, carers, nurses, managers and activity staff members who all work so hard to provide such a lovely atmosphere and home for their residents. I would definitely recommend Lukestone to anyone considering placing their loved one there.
