View Full Details of Seckford Care - Jubilee HouseRight from the start we have been made to feel very welcome and very much part of the Seckford community. From the initial meeting, to moving in and day to day living we are kept very well informed and feel very much included in everything that goes on. We are immediately informed if there is an issue and I can't believe how happy dad has been right from day one. The path into residential care was completely new to us and it's really not an easy one. The mountains of forms for financial assessment and numerous others is an absolute mine field to the novice, but I can't fault the funding manager and other managers for all of their help and support, and wouldn't be where we are without them. Dad has alzheimers, the level of which varies from hour to hour and day to day, so it is very reassuring to often find one of the staff members sat talking to dad, or looking at old photos when we visit. Thank you and keep up the good work.
This is a general comment on the quality of life residents enjoy at Sekford. My parents were in a very poor state of health mentally and physically when they moved into a flat 18 month ago. The systems, entertainment, care and quality of the accommodation has been first class and has enabled them to really live their lives again and enjoy all the many and varied activities that are on offer. Mum and dad love the company and kindness shown by all the staff. The opportunities to socialise, drink tea and eat cake is a joy for them both. They are both hard of hearing and have suggested a microphone/speaker at meetings would really be a benefit to many residents. They struggle to manage doctors appointments and although very not mobile and deaf they are expected to book appointments and make their way to the surgery. If I am around its not a problem but if i'm away it becomes really difficult and worrying for them. I suspect thats due to doctor availability.
I cannot fault the care and consideration of her specific needs that the incredible staff give to my mother. She is treated with the utmost respect and dignity. She needs constant care now and I have never felt she is just another resident. They really know her as the strong person she has been and the dependent person she is now. We are so very fortunate that she is in this unique and wonderfully caring place.
My Mother has been at Jubilee House for several years now and I cannot fault the attitude and care exhibited around her changing care needs. All staff, from the Team Leaders through to housekeeping show great respect and concern for Mum as an individual and she is listened to. In her declining years, Jubilee House clearly do everything they can to make her comfortable and show her a lot of kindness and patience. The level of communication from the Home is excellent and inclusive. As a family, we consider ourselves very lucky to have Mum in such a safe and caring environment.
The care is well co-ordinated and supervised. If a problem arises, the management make sure they take time to talk with the resident. If further support is necessary they will access this in a timely manner. I find this very reassuring.
I am very happy with the care my father receives. I don't have to worry about his welfare as the carers do everything to make sure the residents are safe and looked after despite the difficulties in staffing levels. I am kept informed of any issues that arise which are normally resolved with out input from me. Thank you for looking after a sometimes awkward and difficult resident so well.
I just wanted to register that we rate this home outstanding in care and the facilities. the building is spotless and the staff are faantasic from the cleaners to the manager, we would not heitate in recommending the care home to anyone looking for themselves or a family member. Respone to emails and any questions is fast and everything is delt with promptley and with out any hesitation or delay. They are fast to notify me in any changes to Mothers helth and well being.
The extra care facility is run extremely efficiently with excellent communication from senior staff. Carers are well trained and many have been in post a long time. Care planning is thoroughly carried out and reviewed monthly. All concerns or queries are dealt with promptly. Any changes in circumstances are quickly dealt with and needs reassessed. The environment is clean and well laid out. Grounds are maintained to a high standard. A range of activities are in place, hairdresser visits, chiropodist too. There is very good communication with local GP surgery and other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Influenza and Covid vaccinations organised.
My mother has received great care and I feel they are doing all they can to make her quality of life as pleasant as possible considering she is 96 years old, frail and is often mentally confused. She is constantly being checked upon and the staff are very kind to her. Her physical needs are dealt with well and she is kept clean and comfortable.
Good, caring care staff who work hard and were so good in the pandemic when things were so hard. Concerns were listened to and nearly always actioned. Communication with a specific care need not always 100%, but concerns are always addressed.
My father was a resident at Seckford Care for five years. He started in the terrace, which is for more independent residents, then moved into a flat in the main building and then finally, for the last four months of his life, into Jubilee House for round-the-clock care. At every stage, the care he received was excellent. Staff understood that although he was a friendly man, Dad did not enjoy social gatherings and so he was never forced to join in with things he didn't want to. As his care needs grew, senior staff kept me informed of what our options were and were always happy to discuss things and just to listen. All staff looked out for me as well as Dad. Dad was treated with respect at all times. I feel very lucky that we had Seckford Care so close by.
Seckford Care is a truly exceptional home. Over the last six years, it has not only provided brilliant care for my father despite his profound Alzheimer’s but has supported my mother expertly both while she cared for my father and since his death. All the staff are thoughtful, kind and extremely hard-working. The facilities are excellent, and the location is beautiful and safe.
