View Full Details of Springfields Nursing HomeDad was confined to bed but loved the garden views and the peacocks and wild animals. He was very grateful for the care he was given as we were. The staff went above and beyond and we felt a real sense of family love from them. The food was great too. In the last days the whole family were so well looked after with such compassion we couldn't have asked for more (including the dog).
I would not have mum anywhere else. Great staff and nursing care.
The staff were so caring, polite and very patient with my father up till his passing.
My mother went in to the home for 4 weeks whilst I was abroad. I was nervous as to how she would settle and as to whether she would continue to improve following a fall in late 2024. She enjoyed her time in Springfields and her mobility and eating improved a great deal. I was surprised when I went to collect her how much she has improved with the help of the staff and our physio. All the staff I met were friendly and caring which I appreciated.
The nursing care and treatment received has been outstanding, The attention to detail is excellent, always doing what is required. Above and beyond. She feels very safe in the care home and also with the staff and nurses. They make her feel happy. I am kept fully up to date of her condition and of any concerns. The nursing home is always kept very clean and tidy. A very professional home and staff. Always happy to talk.
I cannot express how glad I am that Dad spent his last ten months in Springfields. He received the best of care in beautiful surroundings. He was always treated with real respect. The staff were very kind and preserved his dignity always. More than that, at the end of his life he was surrounded by love!
My Dad was a resident at Springfields for 2 years where he sadly passed away. During this time he was always treated with care and compassion. The staff were always lovely and helpful. Dad was bed bound, he was always clean and said he was comfortable. The meals were cooked fresh daily and Dad said there was never anything he didn't like. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely place to anyone needing care of any description. Such good peace of mind knowing he received great care whilst there.
My dad was a resident at Springfields for approximately a year. He sadly passed the beginning of August 2024. I cannot praise the staff enough and the level of care my dad was given during his time at Springfields. All staff were kind, compassionate and respectful. Very supportive of us as a family, very approachable and always there to help. Springfields couldn't have done any more for my dad or us as a family. 5 stars for Springfields, would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Springfields looked after my mother until her death, she was treated with kindness, compassion, empathy and respect, for the last few hours we stayed with Mum and the staff cared for her and us. They helped to make a very sad time as comfortable as possible and I shall always be grateful for their kindness.
My father was admitted to Springfields in December 2022 on discharge from hospital. At that time the prognosis was not good, but the excellent care provided by the nursing and care team at Springfields resulted in my father recovering to the extent that he enjoyed another 21 months of good quality life before he passed away recently. Springfields is set in lovely grounds and the facilities are excellent and I cannot speak highly enough of the environment and the people who work there. I would highly recommend Springfields to anyone who has an elderly relative requiring more care and support than can reasonably be provided in their own home. The care sector in the UK generally gets a bad press these days, but Springfields is proof that there are places that really do make a difference to the lives of elderly people who need and deserve high quality care in their later years and I will always be grateful to all of the team at Springfields for what they did for my father.
Myself and my family cannot express enough, our thanks and gratitude for the wonderful care our Mother has received. The way they have cared for Mum, with respect and dignity has been outstanding. The care and attention shown, not only to Mum but also to us, especially when Mum was at the end of her life, showed us as a family, that the staff really do care. Once again I cannot express the kindness and consideration they have shown throughout Mum's stay. What wonderful people they are!
I am not sure my words can do Springfields Nursing Home and, more importantly, the nurses/carers justice. My mum had terminal cancer and was taken into Springfields Nursing Home on the 13th of March after a short spell in the hospital. I was worried that because it was a direct placement via the NHS that the care might not be at the level I wished for. But I had nothing to worry about. Right from the start, it was clear that all the people that work there are a) experienced and b), more importantly, they genuinely care (a lot). The manager and her team were incredible. I would go in twice a day for 3-5 hours and try to be there for meal times so I could assist. But nothing was ever too much trouble. Regardless of how busy they were, they were always there to help and assist, even if it was just for advice. As an only son, they were also very sympathetic to the fact I was losing my mum (lost my dad two and a half years ago to cancer too).
My dad was brought into Springfields for palliative care, and although his stay was short and he passed away, the compassion, love and care shown to him by all the staff was outstanding. Special thanks to the matron and all the team - she welcomed Dad personally on arrival with a handshake and held his hand when we walked into his room, as I could see he was anxious. When Dad passed, we went to say our goodbyes, and she was so respectful, knocking on his door before we entered. She then sat down with us as a family and gently guided us through the next steps. Would highly recommend them and would like to thank them all for their kindness and humanity.
My sister was diagnosed with terminal cancer in a local hospital and transferred to Springfields for terminal and palliative care. From the very moment that she was brought to the facility, she received the best care from all of the staff, who ensured that all of her needs were met and kept her safe, clean and comfortable for the entire time that she was there. Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, the staff related to her as a person, which was very important to me. I can recommend Springfields unreservedly to anyone who needs the services that they offer.
My father was brought into Springfields from the hospital after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. From the moment he arrived until he passed away, he was attended to and cared for by the lovely team at the nursing home. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and all the staff were so kind, thoughtful and compassionate, not only to my father but to me also. Everyone, including the owner, did everything in their power to make my father's stay at Springfields as pleasant as it could be. I cannot express enough the gratitude I feel for each and every one of the staff members at the nursing home, and I highly recommend this facility to anyone thinking of placing a loved one in their care.
I am very happy with the care my mum receives at Springfields. The room is always clean and tidy, and we are kept well informed of any events concerning her health. Because of her health, Mum is bed bound and not able to take part in the facilities, but the staff are very attentive and treat her with dignity. Her personal hygiene is good.
The staff have always been helpful and have genuine compassion for their residents. This has been very comforting at a time when we have been unable to visit inside the home for much of it due to restrictions to know the family has been well looked after.
My mother was transferred in July from another care home. This was our first experience with care homes, and we were shocked, to say the least by what we endured. Then she arrived at Springfields! Since she has been at Springfields, she has improved beyond our wildest hopes; she feels safe and secure there and is looked after by people who are not only professional but also naturally caring. They constantly interact and engage in conversations with my mother and have taken the time to get to know her and have genuine empathy and time for all the residents in there. I am so relieved she is in Springfields. I come away from a visit and know she is being cared for how we all would hope a parent in care would be. On the occasions we have good weather taking her out to look around the gardens it is blissful and cathartic; she feels like the lady of the manor. I have nothing negative to say about Springfields. My whole family are so thankful for all they do there and how they do it!
We found the staff always friendly and always had time to answer questions. My cousin, who needed the care, liked the staff, enjoyed the food and was content. We found the home 'homely', and it was a pleasure to visit there as he was so well looked after.
My 95-year-old mother has been at Springfields for over a year now. Prior to this, she lived alone at home with carer visits. After several falls and hospital admission, she was extremely frail. This home was recommended and my wife and I went to visit. Once through the door, we knew this was going to suit her needs. After several months of special care, my mother made a brilliant recovery and even the staff say they haven't seen such a change in one of their clients. Although she is now wheelchair-bound her mind is as sharp as ever. She enjoys the social life and companionship of the other residents and the care staff. Although we aren't able to visit on a regular basis, the activities coordinator arranges FaceTime sessions so we can see and speak to mum. I cannot praise the care staff enough, especially through this pandemic, by being able to keep the residents and staff all safe and clear of COVID-19. I can highly recommend this Care Home as being 'one in a million'!
