View Full Details of Chorleywood Manor Care Home - Avery CollectionMy mum and dad moved to Chorleywood a few months ago, and I am thoroughly impressed by their experience. In particular, the staff are really friendly and always helpful. The facilities are good, there are lots of varied activities, and the whole site is spotless.
My mum has been resident at Chorleywood now just short of three months. After taking a little while to settle in with the help of the staff she, and we, found a great routine that worked for all of us. I, and we as a family are very pleased with the outcome. There are plenty of things to do, which are all totally voluntary, which have suited mum down to the ground. The staff are amazing, I've never met so many smiley people who all take the time to say hello and are so welcoming. I would recommend Chorleywood Manor to anyone PS: Shout out for the staff member who ha got my mum drawing and painting again after so many years!
When choosing a care home it can be daunting but Chorleywood Manor makes it easier ! My mum has been in the residential room where you look after yourself and have independence for the last two months. I looked at around 10 other potential places and found that this place offered the best overall feel initially. Of course it takes some time to gauge how it's going to work out but all I can say is I'm very pleased with the outcome for my mum and also for myself. I know over ten members of staff now personally and have found everyone to be of outstanding character. There is plenty of daily entertainment and I feel that all of the staff I have met, whatever their role is, care about what they are doing. I would fully recommend Chorleywood Manor to anyone.
Having looked around a few care homes locally I was impressed with how the place felt as I walked in. The reception area was bright and open and seemed very grand with a welcome smile from the concierge. The Bistro area is a very nice place to meet people in a more quiet setting to chat. The list of daily and weekly events provided was comprehensive and I was surprised at how much space there was and differing areas for residents to either sit and relax or be part of communal activities. Not the usual sitting/ dining area only. Residents are encouraged to join in the daily events and I feel there are more carers / general staff around than actual residents which means there is a calm atmosphere with people on hand at all times. From the perspective of someone who visits rather than resides, I can recommend it.
Chorleywood Manor.has provided a comfortable, safe and very well run environment for our relative. The staff are all lovely, caring, and always treat the residents as individuals. Any initial "teething problems" were promptly sorted. We have spent many hours visiting our relative, also taking her to various appointments, hospital, outings etc. and all necessary arrangements, including medication needed while away from Chorleywood Manor were carried out cheerfully and efficiently. We were never made to feel a nuisance when visiting. Thank you to all! (Have given "safety" a lower score than is really deserved because during a recent power cut there is no alternative lighting source in rooms/bathrooms should power fail and panic in some residents could have resulted in injury.)
My partner's parents moved in last year after several health scares. Chorleywood Manor have been wonderful throughout the entire process. The staff are brilliant, it's always a pleasure to see them and they are so willing to help with any issues. The relief of knowing that my partner's parents are in such safe hands is so comforting. Happy parents, happy days, Thank you all at Chorleywood Manor. Big hugs all round.
My Father has been staying at Chorleywood Manor for just over a year now. He is very happy there and extremely well looked after. All the staff are exceptionally friendly, and professional. The entertainment is excellent and there is always something going on to help while away the time. The food is of a very high standard and the menus offer plenty of choice. I would highly recommend Chorleywood Manor, so much so that I would happily move in myself when I'm a lot older and need to be looked after.
Putting any loved one in a care home is one of the hardest thing a family member will have to do, but going through the process with Chorleywood Manor Care Home was a lovely experience and I cannot thank them enough. The admission process was thorough and smooth in every way. The staff were fantastic with any worries we had. Chorleywood Manor Care Home provided us with all the information we needed, as well as providing the highest of standards for our relative. We were able to ensure they felt like it was home from home which eased our worries in every way. All the staff have been lovely and it is clear to see they all take pride in their roles making sure everyone is happy and have everything they need. We are notified if there are any problems or issues that need to be discussed and updates on their progress. The home is clean and tidy always and feels a warm and welcoming environment when you are there. Nothing is too much trouble when you ask. Outstanding work everyone.
My father has been a resident of Chorleywood Manor for around 6 months now. He has dementia and there was an urgent requirement to get him into safe care. From before his move, where the general manager and care manager went to visit him at his flat to help ease the process, the care has been above and beyond. This is a home that cares about every individual - loving them for their quirks and making it a mission to put a smile on their face every day. The place is full of laughter and the welcome is always warm. It's lovely to be able to stop for a coffee and bite to eat or a walk around the beautiful gardens before or after visiting a loved one. The food is second to none and the entertainment and activity schedule is varied, engaging and totally varied. I feel grateful to know that my dad is safe and well cared for and that this isn't a job for the staff, it's a vocation and a pleasure. Highly recommended.
We are deeply grateful to Chorleywood Care Home for the exceptional care they provided for our dad. From the moment he left hospital, their support with all the administrative details was seamless, easing a very stressful time for our family. Upon his arrival, the team went above and beyond to ensure he felt comfortable and well cared for. The transformation in my dad's health and spirit during his stay was remarkable. The kindness, attentiveness, and dedication of the staff and care assistants were truly inspiring. Their engaging activities and warm interactions created an environment where he truly thrived. Dad only left because he required additional nursing care otherwise, we wouldn't have considered moving him. We are forever grateful for the compassion and professionalism shown throughout his stay. I highly recommend Chorleywood care home for their exceptional standard of care and the genuine heart they bring to their work.
We moved dad in to Chorleywood Manor in August. It was an emotional time as we had to move him out of his flat at really short notice as his wife could no longer cope and was having a breakdown of her own. The home and the staff have been brilliant, helping dad settle in, and making him feel welcome. He feels like he now has more friends than he has for years and is very happy there, often saying how luck he is. As a regular visitor, they make me feel welcome too, and the place has such an upbeat positive vibe that I actually look forward to going in there! Thanks go to the Chorleywood Manor team.
Chorleywood Manor is a very imposing building with all facilities in good condition. There are lots of activities for residents to take part in. The staff are all very friendly and caring. I feel satisfied that my mother is safe and taken good care of.
Mum came to Chorleywood Manor initially for respite care and is now a permanent resident. She is not the easiest resident, but the carers treat her with respect and good humour. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed; the communal areas are welcoming. We feel reassured that mum is being cared for in a safe environment - which takes the stress off us.
I love coming to Chorleywood Manor on Fridays because they make me so welcome. I only have to get in the door and I get a lovely welcome greeting from someone. It might be the concierge or another member of staff and residents sometimes even a hug. I come for the activities department and the play reading session, and also make cups of tea and coffee to save the staff from having to do it. I've been coming for 15 years - at first for respite after an operation.
The facilities are great. The care staff are amazing: kind/smiley/attentive. All staff welcome visitors by name - a lovely personal touch and quite an achievement! Mum has been more alert and engaged since moving in. The routine, level of care, and amount of stimulation seem to have worked wonders.
Leaving my husband for 2 weeks of respite is quite emotional but the care, attention, and friendly atmosphere smoothed this experience and I left him there feeling confident and relaxed that his stay would be a happy experience for us both.
My Aunt and Uncle moved in about 8 weeks ago. The accommodation is 5 and the staff are so welcoming. It has made the transition from their own home into care as smooth as possible. The outside space and easy access is perfect.
Mum thinks all the staff are wonderful and very friendly. She would recommend it to anyone.
The care team takes good care of my Mother. If I/she have any questions or concerns they are responded to in good time. The hospitality team are also helpful and considerate.
Chorleywood is a brilliant care home, spotlessly clean, with very friendly staff with a warm and welcoming reception. The rooms are spacious and with a kitchenette and a large walk-in shower with a real home-from-home feeling.
