View Full Details of Metchley ManorWe're so grateful that Mum has settled in so well. We were worried about whether she would be happy in a care home, and what it would be like, and as a family we've all been very impressed with the excellent level of care. The staff are outstanding, so kind and welcoming to Mum, and to us when we visit most days, and we can see how Mum lights up when anyone speaks to her, often with a laugh and a joke that lifts her spirits. The level of friendliness and the thoughtfulness of care staff and the entertainment team has been exceptional, Mum has engaged more with events in a month than she has done in years - it's rejuvenated her! She even enjoys trips out, something she'd not done since breaking her hip. We've noticed such a positive change since she moved in. Whenever we've needed to ask about anything, it's been quick and easy to sort out things as required, with staff keeping their doors open and making themselves available. Thanks to everyone for truly caring, and the cats are cute!
If I had to pick just one thing that I look for in a home, it would be how the residents are treated. I have only ever witnessed the utmost kindness and respect shown to them. It is quite moving. Fortunately Metchley has the added bonus of superb food. It is both delicious and very, very attractively arranged. There is a wide variety of choices, so clients can have a varied diet. The team responsible for events and entertainment must also be commended. They are so creative, such that there is an interesting selection of activities to do. Further, they seem to provide activities that defy belief. I am reminded of the reindeer that visited last Christmas, only to be surpassed by a horse from Peaky Blinders scheduled to make an appearance this week. The rooms are kept clean and fresh at all times, and laundry is done regularly. Any maintenance is dealt with swiftly and they are cheerful people. Management are very approachable and offer kindly words when necessary.
The whole Metchley team provided first class care for our mother from the first day she came to the home in November 2023 until she passed away in June 2025. As Mum's mobility and general health slowly declined, the team made appropriate adjustments to ensure that she continued to get the care she needed. This applies not just to the wonderful care team but also to all the supporting teams such as the concierges, the kitchen and dining room team, the maintenance team, the laundry and cleaning teams etc. The family were always made to feel welcome and were kept informed of Mum's condition at all times. At the end of her life, we were fully included in every decision that was required and the care that was given was exceptional, for which we will be forever grateful. Thank you, Metchley Manor Team, you are brilliant,
Excellent care in a safe and secure environment, all staff that I have had dealings with go above and beyond the norm dealing with any requests, fantastic inclusion of all residents in games and activities, plenty of encouragement from all staff , food at all times again excellent, cannot speak highly enough of all staff who make residents and visitors alike feel so welcome
The staff are very kind and patient with the residents, as well as making relatives and friends welcome, too. There are plenty of activities, and the atmosphere is very different to what you might imagine a care home is like.
Since being at Metchley Manor, my Aunt has blossomed. The staff and the home itself are amazing. My Aunt feels safe, for my brother and I, it's a great relief. She had a great view from the windows in her room, which is light and airy. The whole place is very welcoming.
My father Inlaw has been here for the past 12 months and without a shaddow of doubt this place is amazing! The whole team know how to do care the right way. The home is absolutely out of this world, kept to the highest standard, if i didn't know i would think i was walking in to a hotel. The place is kept spotless and the meals are amazing from their award winning chef and his team. The care staff really do pay attention to each and every single resident, really making a difference to their lives. The nursing team are on the ball when it comes to problems and doctors are always just a call away to help with anything that needs attention. The management team are great too, nothing is ever too much, friendly and more importantly approachable and on hand. Days are filled with age appropriate activities with something for everyone. I wish every care home could be like this, then i know everyone would know what it's like to be looked after to the highest standard. Worth more than 5 Stars!
Our dad has been at Metchley Manor since November 2024 and has settled in really well. The level of care and support he receives is outstanding, and unlike many homes, there is never a shortage of care staff and activities which is very reassuring. Every meal is an event in itself, literally works of art, very tasty with varied choices available. The level and quality of activities are also far beyond our expectations (beit in-house or professionals that are booked regularly to entertain residents). The home, its grounds and individual rooms are kept to extremely high standards. Care UK's statement that 'Everyone makes a difference' is true in every sense. All of the staff from every department (concierge, kitchen, housekeeping, maintenance, and office) play a huge part in truly making Metchley Manor what it is. We cannot thank everyone enough.
The care that my stepmother received during the five months she was at Metchley was exceptional. The staff are all very caring and friendly. During the last week of her life when she was confined to bed they made sure she was looked after and not left unattended, with frequent checks. In the last few days of her life she had a member of staff by her side all the time. I would recommend Metchley Manor to anyone looking for a care home for a relative.
There are 4 star hotels and then Metchley Manor which exceeds any of the hotels in its care and attention and especially the food offerings. The staff are uniformly happy and attentive to one's needs, which is due amongst other things on good management . It puts on plenty of activities including for example a DJ.who kept everyone young and we achieved 1.6 million likes on his live broadcast on social media which went worldwide
Cannot fault this amazing care home. ALL the staff are amazing- caring, kind, patient, helpful, friendly and polite. Nothing is too much effort, and they always smile and say hello. The food is amazing - family are welcome to join their resident for lunch and service is restaurant quality. I really wouldn't look anywhere else.
9th January, 2025. I have just returned home following a respite care stay at Methchley Manor and I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the outstanding care, support and warm friendship which I received from everyone, led by the admissions advisor. In our communications, I found the admissions advisor a wonderfully sensitive, caring, attentive, generous, wise and committed person with a welcoming smile and a gentleness of spirit as well as a true professional working for the good of all. And I think her values define the environment which I found to be one of a harmonious working together. Also, I found the general approach very enlightened, in that while every support is on hand, residents are also encouraged to be independent, as and when they can, this promotes a sense of respect and freedom. So, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the admissions advisor and to each person for their care and warm friendship.
My father is a resident at Metchley Manor and I could not be happier with the care he is receiving. I was concerned that he may not settle well, but the opposite has been the case - he settled in very quickly and is enjoying the range of activities on offer. The whole family has been made welcome on our visits - I've even brought my dog, who was very popular with several residents! Dad's room is lovely - extremely comfortable and well-appointed. The entire building is always spotlessly clean and fresh. The bistro area is a great bonus and the wide variety of activities and outings is very impressive. It feels like a real community. For Dad's birthday, we booked the private dining room for a family lunch. We were really well looked after and enjoyed excellent food in beautiful surroundings. I visit frequently and am always made to feel welcome. The staff are wonderful - every one of them is friendly, caring and professional.
The care, kindness are just outstanding. From the admin to carers. Thank you for all you do. My mom leads a full life and is consulted on all matters related to her well-being. Her room is lovely bright and very clean. The food is as good as a hotel.
My mom is a resident at Metchley Manor, since she has been there (from July 2024) she is happy and content. We don't feel worried about her anymore. And when we visit it is a beautiful setting and mom is happy to see us. She walks us to the outside area if the weather is nice, and we sit and play dominoes, cards or games, it is an enjoyable experience.
A lovely care home with wonderful staff and facilities. Carers are kind and considerate and treat residents with dignity. Dining is similar to restaurant style with a good choice of meals. A good choice of activities to choose from. Thanks for looking after my Dad.
This is my second set of relatives that have been at the home and I think that says a lot about the quality of service here at Metchley Manor. The staff are always very friendly and helpful even to us when we visit as well as the residents. The food is amazing and we have eaten there on several occasions and are always surprised at the quality and presentation of the food. Overall we feel that our relatives are always in safe hands.
Metchley Manor have been fantastic in caring for both my parents for the last few months. They have done everything and more to make their transition into the care environment as easy for them as possible. I cannot thank them enough for the last few months.
My mum has just celebrated her 100th Birthday at Metchley Manor and what an amazing day it was. The staff went out of their way to ensure her day was a very special one. She was joined by family, friends, residents and colleagues for a delicious afternoon tea including a cake made by the chef which was simply beautiful. The team at Metchley Manor did us proud and I would have no hesitation in highly recommending it.
Metchley Manor meets all our expectations as a family as we are reassured that our mom is safe and secure. The food and care is excellent and the staff go out of their way to make sure our mom is happy.
