View Full Details of The Dell Care HomeMy dad was admitted to the home in January after breaking his hip and being diagnosed with vascular dementia. From the moment we stepped in the door, we were made to feel very welcome, and the manager is very approachable. Dad is not the easiest of people to care for as he is very independent, but he is cared for very well and is well fed with home-cooked meals. All the staff are lovely and very friendly and you can see that they really care about Dad. There is a log online that you have access to where all dads notes for the day are written, which is very helpful, as I can see Dad's care, food, any concerns and what he has been up to during the day.
My dad receives good care from The Dell. The staff are friendly and caring, great at communicating and making all visitors feel welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere at the home is lovely. Staff are always on hand to listen and will do their utmost to help. There is good safeguarding, and residents are allowed their dignity and respect.
I've always found The Dell to be very good, staff and attitude towards service users always seems to be good. Food is really good as is cleanliness and activities, I've never had any problems to be honest. Staff and management are always helpful, if I have any queries, it's nice to know Mum is safe and well cared for.
I visted my friend for her birthday on the 19th. Family members were also visiting. The staff at The Dell were very helpful in making this a special day. They had put up banners and balloons for the occasion and had sat my friend in the lounge, leaving room for us visitors t sit with her. They made us feel very welcome and had made my friend feel extra special. All the staff are very friendly here.
Residents using the garden when the weather is good, planting vegetables for use in the kitchen and flowers in hanging baskets which look pretty. This is great for the residents' wellbeing, keeping them active and their brains stimulated.
I just wanted to say once again that The Dell is excellent, again I have witnessed firsthand that the residents always come first. This is how it should be, we have entrusted our loved one into their care as their needs are greater than family members can cope with. This means that seeing your loved one is a lovely visit and not visiting as a carer. The managers ensure that every complaint is dealt with promptly and effectively, and they work extremely hard to ensure that everything is in place as it should be. It is a thankless task for them at times as people do not always see the bigger picture. Also, they always have time for a chat with residents and visitors- excellent customer service. I must also thank the staff as well because they work extremely hard as I know firsthand that residents are not always in a happy place, but they work hard to ensure that they are safe and cared for. At the end of the day, I know that Mum is safe, well cared for, loved, and happy. Thank you.
My Mum has been a resident of The Dell Care Home for 2 Years and I personally cannot fault it. During the month of December Mum was entertained almost every day by various activities or entertainers. There was a good feeling of merriment at all times. I even got up myself and sung and danced for all residents! I visited Mum on Christmas Day and Mum was so happy. The Carers there treat all relatives with such respect at all times and a coffee is always made for us on our visits. All in All a very positive and peaceful place to be.
I was a bit dubious about having to let my dad go into care home (no one can look after him like I can) but he seems to have settled now. The staff are friendly and helpful it's only been two months, so far all is good.
Your lady resident of 1 1/2 years had been in hospital after a life-threatening fall. She was taken in at The Dell Care Home to such a lovely room with a garden view and given thoughtful and loving care. There are many staff, all are watchful and kind, helping residents to get over their difficulties. I am the lady's elderly friend and am always treated with care and respect when I call in. If I needed care, I would choose them.
On entering this care home you are welcomed by friendly/efficient staff - into a kind and caring environment. The cleanliness throughout is exemplary and everything is spick and span in the residents; rooms - where everything is in its rightful place - and there is no risk to the residents - who are lovingly cared for at all times. If they are distressed or upset, they are immediately comforted and are all encouraged to engage in the activities/entertainment provided for them. The food provided is homecooked and nourishing and they are assisted if necessary. The nursing staff are always available to discuss any concerns and there are regular meetings for relatives to engage with management - who are very approachable. This is a wonderful home.
Very happy with all staff and care of the last year. Staff work so hard and enjoy being with residents.
From the moment Mum arrived, all staff were very welcoming and pleasant. Nothing was any trouble. My mum had lived alone for six years and she settled really well. She loved her room and the food! She liked her interactions with the staff, as she did have a great sense of humour.
I only have praise for the staff at the Dell. They have looked after my mother very well sometimes during difficult circumstances. She is being very well cared for.
As a family, we are all happy with the care our relative receives. The staff are always friendly and welcoming when we visit and our relative always looks well cared for and appears happy - we are very happy with the care he receives.
A lovely home is always friendly and warm feel to the home. I met the new manager today and also spoke to another member of the team who is always lovely. Smells and looks clean.
We had a problem with my mum which was sorted very quickly and efficiently, would highly recommend this care home. It’s beautifully clean and the staff are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble, can’t recommend enough.
Over the six months that my Great Grandma has spent at The Dell Care Home, I couldn't be more grateful to each and every staff member. Initially, I was very worried about her being away from us and shared this with the management at The Dell, they were very reassuring and made every effort to ensure us that she was happy. Including sharing care plans with us, which I could access online as well as pictures of her eating her dinner as well as her favourite foods which they make especially for her. She’s very happy there, it’s like a home from home. The home and her room are very clean, the staff are happy and the overall atmosphere is warm and comfortable. Thank you so much to the team you really put our grandma first and letting me and my family be a part too, we as a family we will be forever grateful.
My family and I are so delighted my Grandpa has moved into The Dell Care Home. I cannot recommend it more. He loves the food and the staff, who are extremely caring and helpful. They also provide a lot of different activities making his days full of company.
Fabulous care home, wonderful staff are to be admired in all they do, very professional and caring. Food and care are great. The Dell deserve a medal and should be very proud of themselves. Activities are amazing too. Well done in these testing times.
We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending The Dell Care Home. The care they take of our loved ones cannot complain about, nothing is too much trouble for them. The team works well together with the same high standards and care. The activities they organise are amazing and carried out with such enthusiasm both by staff and residents! The way in which they have handled the Covid19 situation is second to none, and they have kept family members informed at all times. Our family can view the care notes online and do WhatsApp video calls to my aunt. If you're looking for a care home that is homely and non-corporate - look no further; The Dell, I cannot recommend more. The team are amazing and a credit to their profession.
