View Full Details of St Helens HallBrother-in-law was extremely weak and vulnerable, needing careful attention. All aspects of his welfare were well catered for until his health deteriorated sufficiently to require hospitalisation. All staff members were excellent with their care.
I live in Australia and have recently visited my Mum (for the first time since she moved to the care home) a number of times during my UK stay. It was reassuring to observe Mum in a bright, welcoming environment with caring staff. It was good to put faces to names of staff who answer the phone when I call from Australia.
Hi can't say enough about St helens care home .the staff or brilliant very helpful they do alot of activities and they get my mum involved the best.way possible with her disability. This is an excellent care home. I can't speak highly about them. My father has settled in so well, the staff are so helpful and caring. As as family we where worried when he was at home but now that he has 24/7 care he is settled and so are we. They keep you updated if they have any health issues which is so reassuring. The facilities in the home are superb. Movie room, quiet lounges, other lounges. Activities. 10/10 for everything.
The staff in this home are amazing my father had a rare illness psp he was more than a handful yet they gave him the best care we were welcome anytime of the day and night i never worried about him me and sister went daily at different times and all residents were treated the same a big thank you to all the staff your angels
Care for my mother is complex however staff meet the challenges and make Mum comfortable safe and happy. She is treated with love, kindness and dignity. Facilities are spotless and every care is taken to make it feel like home.
Big thank you to one lady who saved our dad from choking. We are so grateful to her and all the other amazing staff. Dad is very happy, safe, well-supported and cared for by all members of the staff. We are pleased Dad has the lodge for his home.
St Helen's Hall has far exceeded our expectations with the level of care and consideration staff show for the residents and their families. My daughter recently got married and the staff helped my mum get ready and one of the ladies accompanied her and looked after her all day. It made our day so much easier as we could all relax and enjoy ourselves knowing Mum was being looked after. The carer was brilliant. Can't thank her enough. All Mum's friends have told their families when it's time for them to need care St Helen's Hall is where they want to be. I didn't realise care homes could be this good. Thank you to all the staff.
The people who run this care home do an amazing job, I often rate the people in jobs with a view of 'how would I fare in this environment' and basically I wouldn't have a chance. The care is second to none, and the people who do the job seem well-organised and well-managed. The food and drink do seem ok, however, it would be hard to give it a 5-star rating. Although the rooms are basic, they are clean and basically do the job. Value for money is a difficult one, as it all does seem so expensive, however, it falls into line with other homes so can't be argued against. These points considered, the overall quality of care is 5 stars, it's an amazing place, the activities are consistent and frequent, the communication is always good, Mum is never stressed, she does seem happy there, and we would all be in a state without the people in this home. Thank you.
Since my Mum went into St. Helens Hall and Lodge in April 2024 I have been very pleased with the care that my Mum has received. All staff are warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you all so much for taking the time to make sure my Mum is settled and happy in her new environment.
My mother has been in the care home for 2 years and has been treated with dignity and respect at all times. Nothing is too much trouble for all staff. Families are treated with lots of care and compassion.
Dad is very happy here and tells me the staff are all lovely and kind. He’s content, calm and safe, which they’ve worked hard to achieve by delivering his emotional and physical needs. My personal experience has always been good. Any issues are sorted quickly and the staff, whatever grade, are cheerful and helpful. There’s lots of laughter, empathy and oodles of compassion which is what makes it a special place for our dad to call his home.
My mother has become very settled in St Helens Hall. We are delighted with the facilities and the staff. We could not speak more highly of the place and the people. My sister goes to see Mum virtually every day whereas I live in Bournemouth so attend when I can and am greeted with a friendly reception always. Thank you.
Regularly visit my dad, he is very settled and happy in this lovely care home, this is due to all the amazing staff who work here. He is so well cared for, nothing is too much trouble and we feel very lucky that he is safe and secure in such a pleasant and cheerful environment.
I feel there could be more activities for the residents for example art classes. The food on the whole is okay but I feel there needs to be a greater variety. My relative is safe and has settled in well.
Mum is well looked after. There appear to be lots of activities for the residents both inside and outside of the home, and the staff are hard-working, caring and committed. It is sometimes difficult to get through on the phone.
The care received by my mum has been fantastic. Right through and after Covid, they have worked so hard to keep people safe and keep relatives informed. Staff are always cheerful and helpful, and the activities are marvellous. I can't recommend St Helens Hall highly enough.
My husband's currently staying at St Helens Hall on a period of respite care. The welcome he has received has been outstanding. The staff are knowledgeable and very attentive. They make everyone, including the wider family, feel welcome and involved. The vibe is great, lots of laughter, and that’s down to the staff who go above and beyond to help and support us all. Thank you.
My mother has lived at St Helens Hall since July 2021, and after a difficult first few months, (probably common to most new residents), she settled well and has been very happy ever since. Her room, like all others, is ensuite and nicely furnished and carpeted, with more than adequate storage and even a small fridge. The entire home is spotlessly clean: there is never an unpleasant smell, unlike many other care homes I have visited, where food or urine smells are present. Most importantly, the staff are extremely pleasant, kind and caring. There is regular entertainment provided, and residents are free to wander between lounges and their rooms, allowing them to socialise or relax as they choose. My only criticism relates to communication: it isn’t always easy to get through on the phone, and information given to one member of staff is not always made available to others regarding residents’ dietary and beverage preferences or laundry services.
