View Full Details of Seacroft GrangeIn general the care home is good. Excellent activity staff who support and encourage the residents and are warm and friendly. In general the care and support team on the floors are kind and caring. When care uk took over it was anticipated that fresh food would be cooked at the home and more fresh food would be available this hasn't happened, this is one area I would like to change. In addition I would like one specific television company for all residents made available there is a cinema room which could be used to facilitate this.
Very pleased with the care and attention that my mother receives at Seacroft Grange. Comforting to know she's looked after and respected by all the staff hence my 5-star review. However, on a separate note, I am disappointed and at times frustrated with the handling of financial aspects of her care since the acquisition by Care UK and centralising of financial management.
Mother had settled in well to her new room following a change from the residential side to the more secure care side of the facility for her own safety. Unfortunately the house keeping of her room has required on two occasions to be brought to the attention of the home manager and a senior, with cleaning etc. not been to a required standard, although in both cases this has received prompt attention when pointed out to the staff. Mums room is comfortable and adequate. Mum seems happy when in the lounge with others and when joining in activities and I'm sure the staff try to provide the best they can in what can be trying circumstances with dementia sufferers. In the environment items seem to be mislaid, including named laundry items which should be easily remedied but appears not to be. Better checking of routines by seniors and management to improve and uphold standards would be of benefit
First the good...My mum's room is large, spacious & has everything she needs. Reception staff are excellent. They always pass messages on & are friendly & professional. The activities appear to be held on a regular basis & are varied & they try to involve everyone. My mum is treated with respect & friendliness. Now the not so good...when my mum presses her buzzer it takes a while for staff to respond. I dread to think if she presses it in an emergency situation what would happen. I think they need more maintenance staff as repairs seem to take forever & often need chasing up. From what I've seen of the food the quality is not very good & often isn't very warm. Communication between staff is not the best. We have had times where we have spoken to one carer about something yet it doesn't get passed on to others so end up repeating ourselves
Mum has been a resident for 2 years now . Care is good , residents are well looked after & there is a constant supply of outstanding activities & entertainment going on to suit everyone's needs . Reception is excellent always my first point of contact & so helpful . Food & beverages are good & senior staff & cares on courtyard brilliant , kind compassionate & welcoming .although I have struggled with the amount of mums personal items constantly going missing . I understand that residents do move & hide things all the time so just keep replacing as a challenging environment for staff to keep track of residents belongings . I would highly recommend Grange to any family looking for residential care for family or friends & cannot thank all staff enough for providing a happy safe secure home for mum to live .
I am so grateful for the amazing care my mum has received since going into Seacroft Grange. Every single member of staff have been fantastic and I would recommend this home 100% I am truly grateful for the care she is receiving.
My wife has been a resident in Seacroft for nearly a year now ,probably one of the most difficult years of my life. She has Alzheimer's and therefore needs the special care that Care UK staff can offer. I visit regularly and see her full spectrum of moods that form a common pattern of behaviour in this terrible disease. I can honestly say that the carers have developed a wonderfully close rapport with my wife, recognising when she is confused or agitated and expertly settling her mood with love and care. Seacroft goes further than simply caring for their charges. A wonderful wellbeing team organise regular activities for the residents, art and crafts, exercise classes, games and dancing to popular hits of past decades form only part of a wide range of interests for their charges. Wonderful special events are a regular feature to help stimulate the residents, I have personally enjoyed a number of these events myself, so much work is put in by the small team.
On my visits with my mother I can see that the care team and especially the activities team all work incredibly hard looking after her. I know she is in good hands and that they take good care of her. The care home is very friendly and my mother feels very at home and is comfortable living there. She enjoys most of the activities, especially the coffee mornings and anything which includes music and she loves to dance.
First class care and attention from the staff.Very good activities most days interacting with all patients who are able.Food is in plentiful supply and of a very high quality all the bedrooms and facilities are spotless this is a high quality care home my mother's health and state of mind has increased dramatically in the 3 months she has been an occupant which is a great credit to all the staff
Very impressed with seacroft care amazing staff kind hard working they know the meaning of care the cleanliness the way any illness attended to immediately the difference you have made to my cousin is like a new woman and the activity always something to stimulate and lots of fun singing etc. My family is so impressed my sister is moving into seacroft green.
My mum went in for a short stay. Her room was very comfortable and clean all the facilities were very good. The staff were kind and caring and helped her shower. They went to great lengths to make her feel welcome, and everyone hugged her when she left. She found it difficult for the first couple of days to want to mingle with other residents and join in, but was gently encouraged by the staff, and she enjoyed talking to other people and joined in a couple of activities. She could help herself to tea, coffee, and biscuits when I wanted. Mum wished there had been a mirror in the bedroom, as she found it hard to dry her hair and used the reflection in the TV.
Always helpful, friendly staff on duty, and many activities for my brother to enjoy along with various health services available in the home. My brother is a long-term resident and is very happy living in the home, I believe that he gets on well with all the staff and other residents.
My sister has been a resident at Seacroft Grange since the beginning of Lock-Down. She has always been treated with the utmost loving-kindness and respect. I am confident that she is well cared for and that her health, safety, and wellbeing are catered for.
I can't talk highly enough of the care they give to my (not always an easy lady) sister, there are always lots of activities to keep them entertained. The staff are just great with her. I would certainly recommend Seacroft Grange Care Village.
The staff are friendly and take great care of my mum. I don't live near the home so the staff always make sure I get a video call from my mum once a week. Mum feels safe and looked after in the home and her family are happy that she is able to enjoy her remaining years.
My ma is slipping deeply into her dementia. We are working together with the home to ensure she is safe and as independent as she can be. She tends to clutter her room up, so we've together removed some items. She is now under DOL which is great, as I know she's safe. The staff are excellent, patient-centred, and genuinely care about the residents
My mum became a resident a few months ago and is very happy at Seacroft Grange. The staff are truly exceptional, providing an outstanding level of care. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum’s room is cosy, inviting, comfortable and clean, just like the rest of the surroundings. It’s a bonus to have a comfortable electric armchair in her room, which means she can elevate her legs. My mum feels secure, valued, and respected. My family and I are always made to feel very welcome whenever we visit.
My 92-year-old father has never looked better and he’s never felt more comfortable and cared for. Care workers, including kitchen staff and reception are just brilliant. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and approachable. The most important thing about the staff on the Wilson unit is that they care and that gives me and families peace of mind. I have never had any issues concerning my father’s care and would highly recommend Seacroft Grange Care Home.
A married couple moved into The Grange Care Village in urgent circumstances, moving from North Yorkshire to be closer to their special needs daughter. The care and support for their daughter offered by the home has been excellent, kind and warm. Sadly the wife died leaving her husband who was sensitively moved to a less secure part of the home. Attention to well-being is exceptional with activities provided during the day, 7 days a week with priority given to encourage residents to socialise together whilst allowing them to develop new skills. Their spiritual care is also catered for with visits to the local church weekly. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Grange Care Village.
Throughout the time my husband has been resident in Seacroft Grange the care he has received has been excellent. He took a while to settle and accept that this was now to be his home but with patient care and understanding he is now at ease. He is grateful for his care and has a good, friendly relationship with all of the girls. Apart from some confusion over personal items being misplaced despite everything being named and some items put in his room which were not his we have had no issues at all. As a visitor I always receive a warm welcome and people mostly are readily available for a chat and an update. Thank you for your care.
