View Full Details of Ashbourne LodgeThe excellent care home residents are happy and looked after. Value for money. I found as the daughter of my mum, absolutely very enjoyable respite for us both. Outstanding, excellent, clean, modern. Mum enjoyed herself and I had the rest. Thank you for making knew area of the lodge. All the staff are friendly, smiling, calm, professional, reassuring, very helpful, always smiling. They became friends to me and my mum and the residents too. The activities: musical bingo, book corner, pop music quiz, going into the garden, watering plants and flowers, Mum loved. I appreciated seeing videos and photos updates every day of how Mum is doing. A beautiful room, bathroom, and shower with sink, a modern, clean bedroom and TV for mum to watch. Mum had her hair done too.
Excellent.

They go over and above there level of care, friendliness, kindness, in everything they did for me. They went over and above. Absolutely exceptional, excellent and value for money. I was very well cared for a clean lovely atmosphere. My room in the new area i very nice and comfortable. Had a spa jacuzzi, shower had my hair permed. The decor modern and relaxing with my own bathroom and TV, the staff included me in activities. I made friends with other residents. Thank you so very much to the staff for looking after me.
Excellent, couldn't be better.
I am very happy here.
Our mother spent two years at Ashbourne Lodge. The care that she received was impeccable. The management (especially the manager) are friendly, helpful and approachable and really did their best to accommodate mum's needs. All of the individual care staff and ancillary staff are wonderful, super friendly and caring. The range of activities provided by the home is extensive and they also provide services such as hairdressing.
Ashbourne Lodge is, by far, the loveliest care home I have ever visited. My mother-in-law has been there for nearly a year. Run on Montessori ethos, the accent is on listening, empathy, compassion and patience. Nothing is too much trouble. Staff treat residents and their families with great respect. There are always enough staff on duty to allow them to spend sufficient time listening and chatting. There are regular entertainments and activities. Residents are allowed to be their individual selves. First class.
My uncle was in end of life care, he was only in Ashbourne Lodge for just over 1 week, but the care he received was wonderful nothing was too much trouble. In his final days they made him so comfortable and his family and friends. All the staff are amazing.
My mother was at the care home for eight years, from the moment she joined to her death in December 2024 she was looked after beautifully. The staff, managers and those involved with her care were wonderful, the atmosphere in the home was warm, friendly and caring. I lived 125 miles away and had the confidence in the staff to call me 24/7 with any problems or questions, they were superb and excellent with my mother's end-of-life care.
Absolutely outstanding. My mother lived like a queen. The exceptional standard of care, professionalism and pure love and humanity is beyond any possible expectation. I cannot praise Ashbourne Lodge too highly after 9 years of experience visiting my mother.
My gran moved in 8 years ago and was treated like a queen. Always had a smile and the staff couldn't do enough for her. I was at great peace knowing she was in a place she could call home and we cannot thank Ashbourne Lodge for everything they did for her.
The kindest, cleanest most lovely home. I have visited. Not only are the staff amazing but they truly feel part of the family!
When I came up to visit my aunt and uncle I was always delighted to visit my aunty who was a resident. She was always happy and very well looked after. The staff were always very pleasant and very helpful. If I had to go into a care home, I would love to consider this one. Thank you.
Bright, friendly, homely well-maintained place. First-class care for our loved family members. Wonderful staff for whom nothing is too much trouble.
Mum went into Ashbourne Lodge in March 2024, after several falls at home where she lived alone, Dad having passed away in 2019. The staff are absolutely great. Without exception, they are very friendly, always have time for a chat and build a good rapport with their residents and their families who visit. We have seen Mum become more cheeky, with more smiles, since moving in. She gets on well with both the staff and other residents. Ashbourne Lodge is a warm, caring home and I would not hesitate to recommend them to other families. We know Mum is well cared for and treated with respect. We have no worries.
My father-in-law was in Ashbourne Lodge for 18 months and my sister has been here for 8 years. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and kindness that is the characterisation of the operation here. The manager runs a very good operation and all his staff are always friendly and caring. We never worry about how my sister is being treated. We know she is receiving the best of care as did my father-in-law previously.
My mums home was in Ashbourne Lodge for nearly six years and I am extremely grateful for the care she received during that time. She sadly passed away recently and at what was a very distressing time for our family, I found the staff to be very supportive, caring and professional. She was cared for with compassion and dignity and I felt with genuine affection from the staff involved.
Overall experience is good. The staff are excellent. My mother has settled in well, is clean and well cared for.
My mother resided at Ashbourne Lodge for nearly 6 years. The staff have consistently treated her with care and kindness. She was very happy there. She passed very recently and I felt incredibly supported by all the staff. It was clear they genuinely cared about her. I have only ever seen all the residents treated with compassion and dignity. The home is always clean and it maintains excellent facilities. There are always plenty of activities for the residents and the staff engages everyone and gently encourages participation. I was very grateful that we chose Ashbourne Lodge for my mum's care.
My sister was young, with a very rare diagnosis. Care was for the person that my sister was, not just the home's customer. The staff were proactive in gaining greater knowledge of her disease and implementing a specific and tailored care regime. They made so many little dedicated touches that they had found out or asked for about my sister, from room decoration to birthday cake icing to music playlists and clothes and hairstyles. All these touches were deeply personal and made my sister's last months of life as happy as they could be. The staff gave her as much independence, physical and mental, as they possibly could, even when that encroached on their work, to ensure she had a full and fulfilling life. There was great empathy throughout and, in her last days, she died with dignity with the utmost care for her needs and the needs of the family. Thank you, Ashbourne Lodge.
