View Full Details of Dukes Court Care Home - Avery HealthcareMy mum has been at Dukes Court for almost three years and she is very happy there. Many of the care staff have worked there for many years and mum has become very close to them. They are caring and compassionate and often go the extra mile to ensure the residents are happy and well cared for. The home is always clean and well presented and a credit to the cleaning staff who are also amazing. There's always lots of activities going on which ensures residents are kept entertained and socialised. My mum's favourites are bingo, arts and crafts and film afternoon where they are treated to hot chocolate whilst watching their film of choice. They often have professional singers in to entertain everyone which is always very popular with both residents and staff. I feel my mum is happy and safe at Dukes Court and as a daughter that is all I could wish for so THANK YOU.
My dad has been at dukes now for two and a half years after a terrible experience at another home. He settled straight away here and it's an amazing home with great support. Dads dementia has got worse but all the staff will work with dad and ensure he has amazing care and support where needed. The activities are amazing and something on every day for them with trips out as well. Dad is so settled and the staff are like a family and they support me as well. The home is always clean and spotless and the residents are as well. All staff are so friendly and it is such a blessing to have dad here.
For over a decade I've taught financial advisers about long term care. I've written books on the subject - I know a bit about care. I say this because I hope it'll add something when I say that I wouldn't have my mum live anywhere other than Duke's Court now. The way the home is run, the staff who work there, the care taken on the home environment and resident treatment is just brilliant. From day one, when I was invited to go and look round at any time I knew this was a home proud of the care it gives. When the manager talks about this being a real 'home' for residents and it being like a family, I know she means it. The rooms are clean and well maintained; residents are invited to really make themselves at home with their own belongings. Communal areas have recently been redecorated, though they were very nice before. Further work is ongoing and that's only going to improve it further. With their own chef, the food is great too! I'd advise anyone to consider Duke's Court.
My wife was accepted at Dukes Court 12th June 2025 as her dementia had reached a stage when I could not look after her anymore I was, obviously, apprehensive but with no need Dukes court is a lovely, homely, place where I feel 100% assured she is professionally but lovingly cared for She has her own room with en suite toilet/shower room There is a welcoming lounge with regular activities and a dining room any hotel would be pleased with. I would highly recommend Dukes Court
I visited Dukes Court as my friend lives there. It was such a lovely home from home feel. The staff found out I was a knitter so I knitted them lots of colourful cushions for there dementia floor. Management & staff are great, always very welcoming. I will definitely move there when I'm ready.
As a resident of Dukes Court, I feel highly pleased with the experience and treatment with all the staff. I am happy and contented with my stay here.
Mum has been a resident at Dukes Court for some time now, and the care she receives is exceptional. Many of the staff are long-serving members and the care that they give to all the residents is outstanding. They are a friendly, hardworking and dedicated team. The meals, with a choice of menu, are of a very high standard, and the wellbeing team offer a full and varied programme. We as a family feel that we made the right decision for Mum. We now have the peace of mind that she is being well cared for 24/7. Thank you to every one of you.
I'm very glad we chose Dukes Court for Mum, she is content to be there. The staff are superb, always friendly and take great care of their residents. There is so much thought put into the activities on offer, always something going on for those residents that wish to take part. The managers are available on-site, and communication with family is good.
Mum found it very difficult to settle in, but the staff were very sympathetic and understanding, they went out of their way to distract and engage her when we left after each visit. Being deaf she gets bored very easily as she is unable to join in many of the activities. But does enjoy carpet bowls. Overall we as a family are happy with her care and have peace of mind that she is in a safe place and getting very good care.
Dukes Court is a very good care home. The staff are excellent and provide excellent care in a positive, supportive environment. The building is well suited to its current enterprise and the rooms are comfortable and of a good size. Food is maybe basic, but perhaps what the residents want. 'Value for money' is always a matter of opinion and all across the sector, the service is expensive. My mother is currently a private payer, I am not sure how evenly the payment burden is split between private payer and the taxpayer. But overall, excellent.
My friend has been living at Dukes Court for a few months, we visited the home while they had a summer fete, the staff were amazing. Home was so clean and tidy, it really felt like a home.
Mum has been in Dukes Court Care Home now for over six months. The staff and care is at an exceptional level. Catering for all mums needs. The food is top hotel quality. Every week there is an events calendar and again these activities are superb. Anything from singers, pet visits, craft workshops to Bingo and Dominoes.
Mum was in Dukes Court for a number of years and was very happy there. Mums needs changed during her stay and the team accommodated those changes readily. Looking after vulnerable and frail elderly adults is a difficult job and support (in all forms) from the immediate family helps to smooth any issues and in Dukes Court the whole of the management, wellbeing and care teams work hard to keep the residents happy and healthy. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dukes Court as a residential care home.
I visited the home, and the staff and management were so lovely. The premises are very clean and the staff are so polite and accommodating. Bravo to all who work here, as their commitment and patience are second to none.
I am extremely disappointed with the treatment my vulnerable 86 year old mother received at Dukes court care home. On 21st December 2024, the care home took my confused and vulnerable mother to hospital and abandoned her there without any family present. On 26th December 2024, the hospital declared my mother fit to return to Dukes Court, but the care home refused to take her back. To add insult to injury I arranged for £100 spending money to be transferred to my mothers account each month, the final amount left my mothers bank account on 30th December 2024 On 27th January 2025 I emailed the home to request that money back, on 27th February 2025 the £100 has still not been transferred back to her account. I feel deeply let down by the way Dukes Court handled my mothers care and would strongly advise others to reconsider placing their loved ones in this facility. Compassion, patience and understanding should be the foundation of any care home - unfortunately, we did not find that here.
From my first visit I always found the staff very caring and kind, and they looked after my friend very well indeed. After she had been in hospital she had lost 1 1/2 stone, within a few weeks of tempting food she is back to full health. A big thing with me is smell. No smell in this home, its clean, bright and warm. All residents are happy and I always get a warm welcome.
The continuity of staff at Dukes Court Care Home is impressive and makes a huge difference to mum's care as they truly know her well. They also listen and act immediately on any issues/concerns. They have an open door policy which is great but they have also offered 1:1 face or online meetings to discuss the care and welfare of mum, which was greatly appreciated.
I cannot praise Dukes Court enough for their continuing care of my father. He is happy, exceptionally well cared for and the staff at the home are outstanding. They treat every resident with dignity and compassion and are always on hand to talk to. We are so lucky that we found Dukes Court.
Mum is unable to live at home whilst I am on holiday. Dukes Court offers respite care which suits our needs very well. Mum is happy to stay as often as necessary and enjoys her time there. We refer to mum's stay as holiday time for her.
Dad enjoyed his birthday recently, as a family we were celebrating and made very welcome to use the dining room to have a private little party of cake and tea, and the following day he had another big birthday cake presented by the staff and careers, which put a big cheery smile on dads face, a big thank you from us in taking care, and always going the extra mile on these occasions.
