My dad is in Dukes Court and has been for 2 years, the staff are all amazing and go above and beyond to care for Dad. The home is always clean and more like a hotel. The food is amazing and provide a good choice for Dad. The activities are amazing, they really provide a great range and it keeps Dad
active and busy which really helps his dementia. Dad is safe at Dukes and so happy it helps me leave him as the staff treat all residents as individuals and provide outstanding care.

Mum has been a resident at Dukes Court for some time now, and the care she receives is exceptional. Many of the staff are long-serving members and the care that they give to all the residents is outstanding. They are a friendly, hardworking and dedicated team. The meals, with a choice of menu, are of
a very high standard, and the wellbeing team offer a full and varied programme. We as a family feel that we made the right decision for Mum. We now have the peace of mind that she is being well cared for 24/7. Thank you to every one of you.

I'm very glad we chose Dukes Court for Mum, she is content to be there. The staff are superb, always friendly and take great care of their residents. There is so much thought put into the activities on offer, always something going on for those residents that wish to take part. The managers are available

Mum found it very difficult to settle in, but the staff were very sympathetic and understanding, they went out of their way to distract and engage her when we left after each visit. Being deaf she gets bored very easily as she is unable to join in many of the activities. But does enjoy carpet bowls.
Overall we as a family are happy with her care and have peace of mind that she is in a safe place and getting very good care.

Dukes Court is a very good care home. The staff are excellent and provide excellent care in a positive, supportive environment. The building is well suited to its current enterprise and the rooms are comfortable and of a good size. Food is maybe basic, but perhaps what the residents want. 'Value for
money' is always a matter of opinion and all across the sector, the service is expensive. My mother is currently a private payer, I am not sure how evenly the payment burden is split between private payer and the taxpayer. But overall, excellent.

My friend has been living at Dukes Court for a few months, we visited the home while they had a summer fete, the staff were amazing. Home was so clean and tidy, it really felt like a home.

Mum was in Dukes Court for a number of years and was very happy there. Mums needs changed during her stay and the team accommodated those changes readily. Looking after vulnerable and frail elderly adults is a difficult job and support (in all forms) from the immediate family helps to smooth any issues
and in Dukes Court the whole of the management, wellbeing and care teams work hard to keep the residents happy and healthy. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dukes Court as a residential care home.

I am extremely disappointed with the treatment my vulnerable 86 year old mother received at Dukes court care home. On 21st December 2024, the care home took my confused and vulnerable mother to hospital and abandoned her there without any family present. On 26th December 2024, the hospital declared
my mother fit to return to Dukes Court, but the care home refused to take her back. To add insult to injury I arranged for £100 spending money to be transferred to my mothers account each month, the final amount left my mothers bank account on 30th December 2024 On 27th January 2025 I emailed the home to request that money back, on 27th February 2025 the £100 has still not been transferred back to her account. I feel deeply let down by the way Dukes Court handled my mothers care and would strongly advise others to reconsider placing their loved ones in this facility. Compassion, patience and understanding should be the foundation of any care home - unfortunately, we did not find that here.

From my first visit I always found the staff very caring and kind, and they looked after my friend very well indeed. After she had been in hospital she had lost 1 1/2 stone, within a few weeks of tempting food she is back to full health. A big thing with me is smell. No smell in this home, its clean,
bright and warm. All residents are happy and I always get a warm welcome.

The continuity of staff at Dukes Court Care Home is impressive and makes a huge difference to mum's care as they truly know her well. They also listen and act immediately on any issues/concerns. They have an open door policy which is great but they have also offered 1:1 face or online meetings to discuss
the care and welfare of mum, which was greatly appreciated.

I cannot praise Dukes Court enough for their continuing care of my father. He is happy, exceptionally well cared for and the staff at the home are outstanding. They treat every resident with dignity and compassion and are always on hand to talk to. We are so lucky that we found Dukes Court.

Mum is unable to live at home whilst I am on holiday. Dukes Court offers respite care which suits our needs very well. Mum is happy to stay as often as necessary and enjoys her time there. We refer to mum's stay as holiday time for her.

Dad enjoyed his birthday recently, as a family we were celebrating and made very welcome to use the dining room to have a private little party of cake and tea, and the following day he had another big birthday cake presented by the staff and careers, which put a big cheery smile on dads face, a big

The carers do their jobs very well no worries there, look after mum very well, gets her medicines on time, the only problem is that mum can get annoyed as she gets frustrated because of her eyes otherwise everything is good and she is in the right place as needs 24 care which I can't give.

Dukes Court has a lovely welcoming feel and a high standard of decor and furnishings. The rooms are well furnished mostly with a good outlook. The majority of the long term staff are very efficient and caring. My father was here 3 years ago until he died with Alzheimer's and was extremely well cared
for. My mother has been here for over a year. Unfortunately since the flood on the ground floor, and her being moved to the first floor, standards have dropped considerably. The carers are friendly but very haphazard and casual with their approach. The meals and service are inferior, often served late and cold plus either over or under cooked. And yes, the fees have increased. Very much looking forward to the ground floor reopening and hopefully my mother returning to the experience we signed up for and feeling happy again.

As you are aware the home suffered a flood which affected the ground floor. Sadly, this has caused the residents and team some upheaval, with appropriate adjustments made to accommodate our residents I am sorry you feel the service and standards have been impacted since the flood. We have tried to work hard to ensure all our residents are still receiving the love, support, and high standard of care that we have always delivered. We are so pleased with the care the home provides. All the staff are amazing the care they show each and every person is outstanding. The staff are always approachable at every level and the manager is hands on too. The home gives us peace of mind that my father in law is looked after. The wellbeing
staff have a full time timetable of activities each week and watching the residents enjoying them is the best. Other family members have visited the home and were so impressed . We give the home 10 out of 10 .

The staff are wonderful. There are many staff that have been there for the last six years, so excellent staff retention. The decor is a little tired in places and could be more vibrant, but the home is clean and warm. The food is of a reasonable standard. The garden area is small and more could be done

Hello, my name is Claire, and I became the home manager at Dukes Court in October 2023.


I have worked in the care sector for over 20 years, with my passion being in dementia care.


Throughout my career I have worked in Nursing, and residential homes, supporting older people who live with disabilities, and dementia.


I have many years of experience in managing care homes for the elderly and could not imagine doing any other job.


I have completed various training and development courses including levels 2 & 3 in health and social care and a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for adult and children care.


I am very proud of our home and the fantastic team who work here at Dukes Court.


I love to see team members develop and love supporting colleagues to improve their knowledge and progress in their careers.

Hello, my name is Lauren and I am the deputy manager at Dukes Court care home. I have been working here since 2015, I initially started as a carer and have worked in various roles including senior carer and team leader to get me where I am today.

My role is to ensure the day-to-day running of the home is as smooth as possible by supporting the team and ensuring that our residents are being provided with person-centred care.

Hello everyone, my name is Anthony, I am the maintenance operative for Dukes Court.


My role is to maintain all aspects of the home and to ensure everything complies with Avery's high standards. This is my 10th year working in this role for the company and I’m very proud to be a part of this caring and dedicated team at Dukes Court.


On my normal day you will see me around the home performing a variety of tasks which can include, checking the residents’ rooms are up to a high standard, ensuring the décor of the home is well maintained, and carrying out daily, weekly, and monthly checks.


I am here to support you when you move in and am happy to always assist as you settle in.

My name is Mike, I have over 25 years working within the hospitality industry. There came a time when I wanted a change so applied for the role of head chef at Dukes Court and I have been here happily since 2018.


Catering for the elderly has been very rewarding for me.


Dukes Court is a thoroughly enjoyable atmosphere to work in, I enjoy attending monthly residents’ meetings and hearing the residents ’ valuable feedback and I always ensure to take it on board.


I have a fantastic team of kitchen assistants that ensure that the day-to-day running of the kitchen goes as smoothly as possible.

I have worked a Dukes Court nearly 3 years, from starting as a carer on nights, to being a senior and then moving to days to be a senior carer


I am currently working towards my NVQ 3 within health and social care


My aim at Dukes Court is to ensure that the residents throughout the home are happy and safe I am very passionate about this, and that their care needs are being met. I support my care team to ensure this happens.


Working alongside my team is very important as it helps ensure we maintain the quality of care to all our residents; my team will always be my second family and we are always there to support one another.

Hi. My name is Arlene. My role is Customer Service Assistant. I’ve been working in Dukes Court for over a year now and I would say that working in a care home is very rewarding because you get to talk to people from all walks of life. I like interacting with our residents especially when we have events in the home and getting to know each one of them is such a pleasure.


My main role is to meet and greet all visitors, keeping the reception desk neat and tidy. Making sure that the desk is pleasant to welcome all visitors. Part of my role is to show the home to the enquirer and make sure to present the whole home in the best possible way.


As a colleague, we all work closely and as one family, helping and supporting each other, especially in difficult times.

Hi everyone my name is Simon!


I am the Wellbeing Coordinator for Dukes Court


Dukes Court has a very sentimental place in my heart as it is the first care home I've worked in, taking a total career path change back in 2014 when I decided to leave a very successful, highly paid but stressful sales account management role within the public sector to begin my career in a care setting. It was the best decision I ever made and I feel I was made for the role.


So what does a well-being coordinator role consist of?
Well, I can honestly say that it isn't all bingo and rice pudding at Duke's. The role might require me to be a listening ear for one minute, loneliness prevention, a meaningful one-to-one engagement. Other times I can be seen beavering away at the computer or on the telephone booking fantastic, quality entertainment and planning amazing weekly and monthly events. Families rely on me to keep our Facebook page updated daily with news and photos of their loved ones, we pride ourselves on our up-to-date content and engaging posts and we welcome the support and comments from our loyal followers and friends of Dukes Court. Singing, dancing, quiz and game host, I have adapted the skills I honed during my entertainment days and now try to give the residents a touch of the theatrical within our planned activities.


My background experience has been in the performing arts, studying at Booth Lane College in Northampton, and going on to work as a performer in the Skyline gang at Butlins, Skegness, Pontins, Haven, British Holidays and JMC holidays in Kos. Greece. The ten years of experience I gained performing to audiences of all ages over the years has enabled me to bring lots of fresh ideas and a variety of activities for our residents. I like to think out of the box, in fact, I probably threw away the box.


A local man, I was born and brought up in Wellingborough and I have close links with the community and this gives me a greater understanding of the surrounding areas. Always handy when having a chat with residents who may or may not know the area and definitely useful when planning our local trips.


Fun fact: When I left school I was a bartender at The Duke of York pub that used to be where Dukes Court stands today, pulling my first pints and enjoying the lively atmosphere that the Duke of York would create throughout the week and weekends. So you could say, I have come full circle!


I thoroughly enjoy my job and feel very privileged to spend my days with such wonderful ladies and gentlemen from whom I learn a lot and share laughs and smiles every day. I have a combined total of nearly five years as a well-being coordinator at Dukes Court now and I'm very excited to welcome new residents who have chosen us to be their care provider.

Hi, My name is Kate and I work as part of our wellbeing team.
I originally started my career working in retail where I worked for many years.
I eventually decided I wanted a change in career, That's when I found this perfect job at Dukes Court with a great team to work alongside.
I have been at Dukes Court for nearly 2 years now!
I find my job so rewarding, learning new things all the time about our residents.
You will often see us having a dance and sing-song to some old style classics as well as showing our artistic side in our arts and crafts sessions, Why don't you come along and see for yourself!
One to ones are very important part of my role in wellbeing for those who may not be able to physically join in with group activities.
Its a pleasure to go home at night time knowing I've made a difference and bought fun and happiness in to the day, not only to our residents but there family members too
