After looking at a few care/nursing homes in the area, we decided Southampton Manor was the right home for my mum. From the initial contact to our last visit we were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble from the caring staff, receptionist to management team, everyone went above and
beyond. There are very good activities and entertainment everyday if you wish to participate, the residents are never neglected and if the carers have time will spend time with you in your room, everyone seems happy and pleased to make a difference to each resident. The location is also perfect with lots of lovely walks across the common and sports center inc a few pubs in walking distance. I would grade this home as excellent.
Reply from Grant Gibson, Client Liaison Manager at Southampton Manor Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. It truly means a great del to our entire team. We're delighted to hear that your experience - from your initial contact through to your last visit has been so positive. Creating a warm, welcoming environment for both residents and their families is incredibly important to us, and its wonderful to know that this came through. Your comments about our staff ,daily activities and the time taken with each resident are especially appreciated. we are very proud of our teams dedication to making a real difference in residents' lives, and your feedback is a testament to the efforts. Thank you again for your recommendation and for trusting us with mum's care

After looking at 5 others in the area we literally burst into tears when we walked in to Ascot Grange. The greeting, overall look and the demeanour of the residents was incredible. We were looking for a Care Home that would take and be suitable for both my parents, Ascot Grange was head and shoulders
above anything else we had seen.
My parents have been there 9 months now and the only thing I can add is that it was 100% the right move! Dad was 3 months bed bound before he moved in and for the last 7 months he has been moved into a wheelchair and joined his wife and other residents for meals and activities, nothing short of incredible! The staff are angels, patience of saints, smiles of masterpieces and hearts of pure gold, they are truly remarkable and have now become part of our family and we of the home's. Visiting is a joyous and enjoyable time, plenty of social or private areas for us to use whilst enjoying a drink and cake in the company of our loved ones.
Reply from Mark Deadman, Manager at Ascot Grange Care Home - Avery CollectionDear Steve and family, thank you for your feedback. I will make sure this gets shared with all our team at this week's staff meetings. Thank you for choosing Ascot Grange to provide care and support to both Mum and Dad. They are both sorely missed by the Ascot Grange family. Not only do we lose part of our family when residents are discharged from our service, we additionally miss their families too. Please do take care and reach out, if you need any support.

My mother is very happy with her stay at Loxley Park. She enjoys the privacy of her own apartment but also enjoys the company of other residents. She can't speak more highly of the staff, all of which are extremely friendly and polite, as well as being professional. Whenever I visit my mother I too
feel that the staff are extremely welcoming and warm. My mother is also very happy with the meals and the flexibility of the chef. The whole place is well maintained and always looks tip top.

My mum came to Loxley last August after my dad past away. I am flabbergasted how well she has fitted in. She goes on most of the trips and classes and talks and games the list is endless. I have also noticed that if anything there are more and more lovely things on the timetable beautiful afternoon
teas and lots of lovely treats for all the guests. It's a credit to all the staff without exception they all smile and care and really do a fabulous job mum calls them the pink ladies on the entertainment team and loves them all. The whole place is fantastic as a daughter of a lady who is completely compartment-as it makes me happy to know my mum is living a full life long may it continue

Most things were excellent, but food was disappointing. Not enough vegetables and some days, portions very small. One small floret of broccoli, I do not consider to be a portion.
Drinks were fine.

My husband was at Elton house for a year and half and I have only very positive things to say about his time there.
He really enjoyed the many activities, from chair exercises to the music & entertainment.
All occasions were celebrated so thoughtfully, from Chinese New Year and all the Jewish festivals
to Christmas, which made a difference.
In the last two weeks of his life, the nursing care he received was truly exceptional. Not every care home has nursing , and without it he would have had to go into hospital. Instead, he was able to pass away peacefully in a place familiar to him with care and kindness.
I am very grateful to all the staff for everything they did for him. Many thanks.
Reply from Jenny Bloomberg, Client Liason Manager at Elton House Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you so much for sharing your wonderful feedback and taking the time to write a review for us. It means a great deal to know that your husband found such enjoyment in the activities here and that you felt the team created a warm, inclusive environment by celebrating so many different occasions. Those moments can make a real difference, and it's clear they brought him comfort and happiness. We're extremely grateful for the comments you shared about his final weeks. Knowing he was able to remain in a familiar place, surrounded by compassionate care and dignity, is something truly special. Your comments are a powerful reminder of how important that kind of support is, not just for residents but for their loved ones too. He is missed by us all. Please do keep in touch, love to the family. Jenny

My mother moved to Avalon Court in May 2025. There were so many failings that it's impossible to list here. My mother suffered severe trauma and illness and was hospitalised due to their failings. An alternative home was found & she moved there directly from hospital in June 2025 & has thrived since.
Months of correspondence ensued & Avalon consistently refused to accept responsibility & tried to lay some blame at our door. The complaint was escalated to the Ombudsman. In March 2026 the LGSCO investigation was completed & Avery Healthcare were found to have caused significant injustice by not administering prescribed drugs, poor levels of cleanliness & hygiene, & inadequate general standards of care to a visually impaired person. This has resulted in receiving an official apology & refund of monies. In my opinion their attitude towards my mother's care was sloppy & cavalier, as was their handling of the complaint. The decision statement of the LGSCO will be made public soon.
Reply from Elaine Edwards, Customer Service Manager at Avalon Court Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for sharing your review. We acknowledge the concerns raised and confirm that these matters have been addressed formally in line with Avery Healthcare's complaints procedure and escalated through the appropriate channels.
We appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback.

This is a really excellent care home. The staff are kind, considerate and extremely welcoming - at all times. It has a lively atmosphere with plenty of activities for the residents. It has a 'one family' feel and everyone is included no matter their challenges. It is a spotless care home, beautiful
decor and excellent food and drinks. Can highly recommend.
Reply from Alison McPhail, Customer Service Manager at Greenholme House Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. Our team works hard to create a 'one family' atmosphere where every resident feels valued and supported, so it means a great deal to know this has been your experience. My Dad spent the final month of his life at this nursing home, & although we thought he would be there much longer, the care he received in that short time was exceptional. The staff treated him as if he were a long-term resident from the moment he arrived - warm, attentive, patient, & genuinely positive
in everything they did.
There is a lovely atmosphere in the home: people are busy, energetic, & clearly take pride in their work. Everyone we met was ready to listen, offer support, & help with anything we needed. They were wonderful with my dad, but also incredibly kind to my brother & me as we navigated the last days of his life.
Dad's room was beautiful, more like a small studio flat than a typical care home room, which made him feel safe, settled, & at peace. Knowing there was always someone right outside his door comforted him enormously.
We could not have asked for a more caring, peaceful place for Dad to spend his final days. I am deeply grateful to every member of the team.
Reply from Dawn Sanders, Client Liaison Manager at Winchester Heights Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words. My mother is 96 years old. She has lived alone since my father died at 58. .. My mother has had two falls and her confidence went. on Monday I realised either I moved in with her or get her respite in the care home. . I walked into the home. I was greeted by Stevie and the most loveliest receptionist
nurses and carers. I watched just for five minutes how much care and attention they were giving all the residents there.
After a wonderful meeting and a view of the care home I went to my mother and said you would get great respite Care here. Two days later she arrived. I watched the care, love and respect every person who worked there gave my mother the following morning when I went to visit her again she said I'm never leaving here. She has been there for three days and I have never seen her so happy and full of life. she can't wait to tell my brother and sister and I what a great day she's had. Our dad moved into Birchmere House and we were understandably anxious about how he would cope with the change. The staff were extremely supportive from the beginning and did everything they could to help him settle in. It made a big difference to us as a family.
The atmosphere in the home is warm
and welcoming and the staff always seem cheerful and approachable. The home itself is clean and comfortable, and there are activities and outings available which residents can join if they wish.
We really appreciate the way the staff treat him with patience and dignity, while also keeping us up to date with how he's getting on. Knowing our dad is safe, comfortable and well looked after gives us real peace of mind. We are very grateful to the whole team and would happily recommend Birchmere House to other families.

After living on her own for almost 30 years in Hertfordshire, my mum's health rapidly deteriorated in the last few months of 2025. She felt isolated and alone. We suspected that she was showing signs of dementia, which was subsequently confirmed via a formal assessment at a memory clinic.
We moved
my mum into Hampstead Court in February as it is close to where my wife and I live and therefore far easier for us to visit. She initially moved in on a 2 week trial to ensure she was comfortable there, which we then extended to 4 weeks. We have since made the move a permanent one.
My mum is much happier. She loves her room and its en-suite bathroom, and has made new friends (even if she doesn't always remember their names). The staff are all very kind and treat her with dignity.

My father has settled into Esher Manor although struggled with the massive life change for the first few days. The staff helped in every way they could and are always very kind and friendly to both him and me. He likes the frequent musical entertainment as well as the excercise class and talks which
are on offer regularly.
Reply from Joanna Perry, Client Liaison Manager at Esher Manor Care Home - Avery CollectionEsher Manor are delighted that your father has now settled into the home. Thank you for sharing your experience of Esher Manor.
