Overall Experience

My mother has been a resident for almost 6 years, which includes Covid-19 time. My mother settled well and restrictions that ensued during the pandemic were handled well by staff/management, which I was eternally grateful for given the circumstances. I wish to thank the care home staff for their professionalism in caring for my mother. I find staff friendly, patient, with good communication; emphatic to mother's (and my) needs. Mother appears happy, presentable and comfortable. Staff share their knowledge in respect of the condition my mother has, which gives further insight and understanding of her behaviour and emotional welfare. Consideration is taken when involving mother in activities and I feel I can join in at any time to support her. I am confident that mother can express her feelings, opinions and choices without judgement and are followed through whenever possible. We are given space and privacy to enjoy our time together and are helped by staff practically if necessary.

Overall Experience

Mum received wonderful care at Poets mews, every member of staff, in all roles were kind, respectful, caring and professional. As a family, right down to Great Grandchildren, we were welcomed and supported. The Great Grandchildren nicknamed Poets Mews 'Nanas Hotel'. Mum's every need was attended to and more with activities and entertainment. Thank you Poets Mews

Overall I and my family are very happy with the care home we have chosen for my husband (their father).
However. I do think the residents on the 3rd floor are somewhat overlooked when it comes to the furniture in the lounge. The chairs are so difficult for them to get out of without assistance. Some chairs are quite deep and the cushions are awful. I have been told it is all going to be refurbished. But when. A lot of money has been spent on a Spa Bathroom (I wonder how many residents have used it).
During this prolonged spell of extreme heat the Air Con is inadequate(nice downstairs). Again promises were made to install mobile units. But nothing so far.
I don't really know who is responsible for the cleaning of the patio area. The table the other day was very dirty covered in soil so we couldn't use it. Lots of litter lying about.

Lastly when I have requested something to help my husbands independence it isn't always passed on to the new staff.

She likes to sit in a chair and just watch everything going on which you have provided for her

Darwin House is a beautiful clean + happy environment & we are confident that Dad will settle in well here. The staff were all welcoming & friendly & went the extra mile to make the move easier for both Dad & the family.

I can't thank Christine enough for all her help + persistance in helping us to get a place for Dad that weill all of his needs. She is the only person to have treated Dad like an actual human being. She is a star!

My wife and I attended the Rivermere Summer Party last Friday 24th July where my father is a resident.

The party was blessed with good weather and so held in the garden. We particularly enjoyed listening to the live musicians and the food on offer at the event was excellent.

My lovely Mum has been under the wonderful care of Greensands since starting with respite and then full time from August 2024. The staff are just wonderful and are like my own family now, we do not live locally and absolutely nothing is too much too ask. I highly recommend any families thinking about their loved one staying at Greensands to not hesitate in making this decision.

After the anguish of our mother living alone with dementia the transition to a protected caring environment was heart-warming. An immediate improvement in physical health and a engaging social program has provided a sense of purpose and interaction. A recent tennis event visit provided a cherished experience. The staff are a key ingredient highly spoke of by my mother and often hugged for their caring in what they provide. As next of Kin communication has been excellent ranging from their social programmes to individual care requirements and occurrences. From the professional induction a year ago to the ongoing care and attention a heartfelt thankyou.

My daughter who is a paramedic recommended this care home for her nanny who we were transferring from Plymouth. From the moment a walked into the establishment and spoke to the staff I knew it was the place to bring my mother in lae to. 10 months later my wifes and my decision has never once fallered. From the management the receptionists, the carers, the chef producing first class meals, the housekeeping. My mother in law is safe and secure and happy she now calls the care home 'Home'. Care homes are not just about tuildings, its about the staff. WELL DONE everyone AND THANKY YOU FOR LOOKING AFTER MY MAMA

I felt very comfortable during my stay for respite. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, there was nothing that was too much to do.
The food was delicious, laundry service was exceptional.

Loxley Park is a lovely building with beautiful surroundings. Including a nearby lake you could enjoy visiting.

There is regular entertainment, games and exercises to keep the residents occupied.
