Hampstead Court Care Home - Avery Collection

from A C (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 January 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
It took a wee while for mum to settle but she was treated with patience and kindness and compassion. Eventually she started to thrive, put on weight and show genuine signs of happiness which I hadn't seen for some time. To all the staff on the 4th floor thank you for your love and care and thank you
too to Helene, Abi and Anthony for making a very difficult time much more easy. Knowing mum was safe, warm and well fed was such a comfort.
Reply from Helene Cross, General Manager at Hampstead Court Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you Ali for your very kind words and I am happy to hear that you and your mother had a positive experience whilst here at Hampstead Court . I do hope that she is settled in well after her long trip back to Scotland and that it's easier for you as a family to spend time with her. Your mother was such character and the residents on the fourth floor do ask after her .

The staff seem really friendly and helpful and on the few occasions he has needed urgent assistance, help was very quick to arrive. Facilities are generally very good although the mobility scooter
needs some repair, so he has his scooter in his room, which is not a problem.
Reply from Grant Gibson, Client Liaison Manager at Southampton Manor Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. My mother has settled well into the home after the inevitable difficulty of such a life change. The staff have been hugely supportive and welcoming not just to my mother but also to me and my family in helping her to adjust to her new environment. There is a brightness to the Manor, lots of activities
to keep minds active and occupied and also the opportunity for my mother to make new friends.
In difficult moments the staff exude a quiet calmness and a genuine sense of caring which is so reassuring and whenever any issue has arisen it has been dealt with promptly and with dignity.

From the moment our mother moved into Acacia Lodge in mid-December 2025, we have been overwhelmed by the kindness, professionalism, and genuine compassion shown by every member of staff. From reception and administration to the carers and management, everyone has made both our mother and our family
feel supported and reassured.

The standard of care is outstanding. Staff clearly have the right knowledge, understanding, equipment, and most importantly the right attitude to meet our mother's needs. After previous experiences elsewhere, this has been a true breath of fresh air.

The home is lovely, clean, spacious, and welcoming. The positive difference in our mother's wellbeing and appearance has been remarkable, and it has been truly heartening to see her thrive. Knowing she is in such capable and caring environment has allowed us to rest easy as a family. The care provided at Acacia Lodge has been exceptional, and the difference it has made cannot be overstated

Silvermere Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
We had to find a care home quickly so my sister could be discharged from hospital and settled before Christmas. We visited several and were really struck from our initial meeting by the feeling of warmth within the home as we were walking around. All the support in helping us sort things out moving
her from the hospital to becoming a resident was greatly appreciated. The difference we have seen in our sister in a few short weeks is vast which is a result of: getting her medication on time, lots to do, being made to feel welcome by everyone (staff and residents), good food and the feeling of reassurance she now has if she feels unwell at any time of day or night! The staff can't do enough to help her (and us) make sure she feels at home. She already wishes she'd moved in months ago! The relief for us not having to worry about what the next phone call will bring has been huge. Thank you.
Reply from Will Hammond, Customer Liaison Manager at Silvermere Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for sharing such a lovely review. Dad had been living independently and very active until approx 6 months before joining the Southampton Manor community. After a number of falls he made the decision that he needed to live somewhere where there was more help available. We visited several options but the reception from the staff at the
manor made it stand out and after 3 visits (to address questions) he signed up. He has never looked back. He is well looked after by amazing friendly and caring staff. Thank you.

Camberley Heights is an exceptional care home. My Mum Joan was only there for 8 days before she passed away but the care and love shown to Mum and the whole family was amazing. Special thanks to Sally for organising the stay, Eva for her kindness and Claudia on Boxing Day when we sadly lost Mum.
I
would recommend Camberley Heights to anyone.
My thanks to everyone involved in Mum's care.

My mum is looked after well. Some staff go above and beyond and are keen to check in on her.
GEnerally all things are good & very satisfactory, but if things are not, my mums bale to talk to the staff and feels she is listened to.
It would be lovely if the carers were allocated more time to be able
to chat & socialise with the residents, etc., rather than be very tight on times.

Mum enjoyed her respite stay at Fleet Hall during what was a difficult time for the family - it truly felt like a warm hug. From the moment I walked in the home the staff were fantastic, they greeted you with genuine smiles and made you feel instantly at ease. Everyone was attentive, patient and treated
mum with the utmost respect.
The food was delicious albeit it too much , mum's complaint ! plenty of options to choose from . Mum loved or rather her great granddaughters loved the cafe , even thought they are only 5 and 7 they were made very welcome every time.
The activities were varied ranging from gentle exercises to cooking and craft sessions and despite my mums blindness she was always made welcome and included.
Overall Fleet Hall gave my mum a comfortable ,caring, supportive space for 4 weeks and when the need arises I will definitely seek out a room for her again

My mother in law has been a resident for 2 weeks now. The staff are all truly caring & nothing is too much trouble, they treat mum & visitors like their own family.
The actual home is second to none, more like a 5* hotel with fantastic facilities & the price is surprisingly similar to most care homes
in the town.
No plastic covered armchairs in a row just lovely modern furniture.
They also go all out to entertain & keep the residents occupied, engaged & happy. They even have a cinema room & hair salon.
Well done all.

When I visited Elton House I knew instantly that this was the right place for Mum. It felt like home, there was a nice buzz. Residents were mixing with staff and it there it had a homely feel. The rooms were light, spacious and Mum's room was newly rennovated and had nice decor.
With late stage Alzheimers
we needed specialist care. The carers are outstanding. Nadia and Simona who manage the dementia unit were unfailingly professional, kind and caring, both to my mum and to my family.

My mum was looked after with dignity and respect . She was always dressed, scrupuously clean, made-up and had her favourite perfume applied, even as she approached EOL. Her medical care was excellent, when a doctor was needed, or a nurse, they are called.

I cant recommend the Elton House team more.

Reply from Jenny Bloomberg, Client Liason Manager at Elton House Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you so much for taking the time to share this with us, your feedback inspires us to continue providing the highest standard of care.

The team always strive to provide the best possible care and support for those that live with us.

My mother in law is a completely new woman since moving to Sonning Gardens. Her mobility is vastly improved, her overall health is well maintained and her standards of personal hygiene and wellbeing are so much better due to the high standard of care, food and activities on offer. Without exception
every member of staff from reception to management and medical/care have been very kind and friendly, we are always welcomed by name and with a smile. The communication from them is proactive and very detailed and has helped us ensure MIL has everything she needs. From spending every day in her room, she is now in the company of others and frequently uses the cafe, lounge and activities areas on a daily basis, joining in everything. During the Christmas period the staff went out of their way to make it fun and colourful. We could not be happier with her care and thoroughly recommend this home to anyone who wants the best for their loved one. Nothing is too much trouble for them!

My father resisted moving to a care home for a long time, but in September this year he had a couple of falls and after a few weeks in hospital he decided he did not want to go back to his own home. I was initially concerned that he might find it hard to settle in but my fears were groundless. From
Day One the nursing staff went out of their way to meet his needs, and the friendliness of all members of staff has really helped him. He is happy, settled and receiving excellent care.

Acacia Lodge Care Home - Avery Healthcare

from D R (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 January 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My mum is a relatively new resident at Acacia Lodge. She was admitted 7/10/2025 before needing residential care, mum spent 6 weeks in hospital after suffering with gastroenteritis and a fall.
I visited many care home, majority of which were in the Oldham area. By chance I decided to visit Acacia Lodge,
the customer services advisor took the time to explain all the ins and outs of navigating the move into residential care. She guided me through the complex system, helping alleviate the stress and upset of the difficult decision I've had to make.
Once mum had been offered a place at Acacia Lodge the accountant was also a great help. She guided me though the financial requirements with empathy and patience. Having to put a loved one into residential care is very difficult and stressful time, but the team at Acacia Lodge helped lighten the load.
Mum has now been at Acacia Lodge for approximately 5 weeks. She has settled in very well.
My only complaint is with communication, as explained above, Mum does not have any complex needs or medical issues, but functions better with a purpose to the day. She needs to be occupied/busy, even if its helping the carers with their duties. She needs stimulation all the time and it would benefit everyone involved with her care to know what ticks her boxes.
Once mums property is sold, she will be personally funding her care at Acacia Lodge. I have found that the weekly charges are VERY HIGH in comparison to other care homes of a similar standard.
Mum has settled very well at Acacia Lodge and moving her to another care home may be detrimental to her health and wellbeing. Ideally I would prefer her to stay at Acacia Lodge , but I may have to look elsewhere. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss the charges to see if a reduction can be agreed.
Reply from Collette Gardiner, Manager at Acacia Lodge Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for taking the time to share your experience regarding your mum's recent move to Acacia Lodge. We truly appreciate your kind words about our team and the support provided during what we understand is a very challenging and emotional time. It's wonderful to hear that your mum has settled in well and that our staff were able to make the transition smoother for you both.
We also appreciate your constructive feedback regarding communication and the need for more purposeful activities for your mum. Keeping residents engaged and stimulated is a priority for us, and your insights will help us tailor her care plan to better meet her individual needs. We will ensure the team is fully aware of what motivates and interests her so that she feels fulfilled and valued each day.
Regarding your concerns about fees, we completely understand that this is an important consideration. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you in more detail.
