Judith, my wife, has been a resident for 3 1/2 years. During this time, she has experienced outstanding care from all the staff. I am continually impressed by the quality of her care, both from the experienced and young carers. The level of patience shown in difficult circumstances has been outstanding.
I have regular review meetings with senior staff where we discuss all aspects of her care and needs. Without fail, these meetings are positive and always ask to make adjustments to make her life more comfortable.

Abbey court care home seemed like a lovely place at first the staff made my gran feel welcome when she first moved in, but that soon changed the home I feel failed her with so many issues, failing to replenish her drinks daily specially on the hot days, With mobility issues my gran was left alone in
her room a lot when family or friends weren't there to visit her, staff couldn't be bothered to turn her tv on in her room or pass her iPad to FaceTime family which resulted in falls because of her trying to do it herself. Many times arriving to visit her buzzer was not plugged in so it's not like she could buzz them if she needed help with anything. Always seemed short staffed. Felt like some issues that were mentioned to staff were just ignored. All this and more had a massive impact on my grans health. It's heartbreaking for the family when you put all your trust in care homes to look after your loved ones. it's safe to say abbey court care home could do with improvements.

My mother spent 8 months in Alma Court Care Home and had excellent care provided by the team; at no time did I feel that she was not well cared for or safe.
I used to visit for whole days at a time and could see just how hard the members of staff worked. I had honestly not seen my mother so happy and
chatty in many years.
Sadly, I did not make it in time for her demise, but my mother looked beautiful when I arrived. The team dressed her in a pretty dress and put personal things next to her that gave me such comfort. They treated her with respect and dignity. I will be forever in their debt.

On the Monday, mum decided she needed respite. On the Tuesday, we looked around and paid for 3 weeks from the Friday, in between, she was rushed into hosptial. She was taken to Hempstalls the following Monday. The care and attention this 92 year old has received has been better than excellent, superlatively
brilliant. Everyone - receptionists, care team, cooks, admin, cleaners. Better than value for money. Person-centred.

Disappointing. Husband wore same clothes 3 days, mon-wed, slept in them. No shower. I had to get him to shower. There are various ways to follow up request/advice to shower. On visits he appeared lost. Saturday afternoon had coffee in lounge/foyer during which 3 staff members stood in foyer - lift opened
body appeared on gurney taken to ambulance, no one had the courtesy to forewarn us. Friday confirmed with 'admin' collection on Sunday after lunch. On arrival bedlam noone appeared to know who was responsible for what - I was told all bank staff. Clothing missing requested from rude - on his phone - ignored - male nurse on two occasions Saturday. Three requests for meds took 1 and a half hours from staff another ward dealt - unable to find file - assessment papers loose under file papers, no paper to write on. Meal delayed food out - sure cold. All crockery from breakfast on unit at 1:45 pm not even clean spoon! No menus.

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention. We are obviously disappointed that you have had a negative experience. We take all feedback very seriously, as our aim is to provide the best possible care. As your husband was on our Residential Suite with your agreement, he was deemed to have capacity. We do encourage our residents to take showers and change clothing, however we cannot enforce this if they decline. We are very sorry to hear you felt a lack of empathy and compassion, when one of our residents left the home for the final time, as a home we always pay our last respects in a dignified manner. We strive to provide an outstanding quality of care and always try an take on board any feed back from residents and their families.Once again we are sorry that you felt that your husband's respite stay did not meet your expatiations. We are more than happy to discuss this further and a senior member of our team will reach out privately to you.

Was nervous about leaving Dad, as I had been forced to make the decision as Mom was in hospital and they would not let her come home if she had to care for him ( although we had 2 care calls daily in place). Dad wasn't too happy at being left, so I cried as I walked away. Within minutes he was fine.
I was comforted, Dad was chatted to about his interests etc making him feel at home immediately. Nothing was too much trouble, from accepting my phone calls checking how he was, me crying about struggling with mom at home, arranging an anniversary meal for them both ( left mom there whilst we popped out for a meal) and carers popping in, to personally update us, and request anything that he required. My only fear is when I need them again, they're so popular, they'll be full. If only we could all move in!

My dad was made to feel at home straight away, and he settled in his room with a lovely card, flowers and a coffee as a welcome gesture. He really enjoyed his stay on a week's respite, getting involved in some of the activities and enjoying all the delicious food on offer. All the staff were fantastic,
and on departure, he was given a box of cupcakes, another lovely gesture. First class experience and a break for my mum.

Not happy with the care my mum received at abbey court care home . Her support plan was not adhered to by any means of which led to many many issues failing her care , mobility issues meant she was left to sit alone in her room carers would not even turn on the TV or Radio for comfort . Fluids were
not replenished often and mum with dementia was not prompted to drink enough even though the hottest days, carers do not engage properly staff and management unapproachable lots of issues relating to my mums decline and hospitalisation and of which are to upsetting to mention.

The home itself is not to bad, could do with a bit of paint here and there and the carpets could do with a clean, not to much activity wise went on, a dance here and there with a singAlong, would be nice have seen the carers engaging with the residents and doing other stimulating activities, the lay
out of the lounge isn't really homely feeling, the chairs could be set a little better as residents are sat with their backs to the tv,or the tv isn't in the right place for what it should be, photos on the social media page could be a little better like all other care homes, appear to be very dull and not showing faces, compared to another home, where it appears that they do alot more. Can't fault the deputy manager, she's approachable, didn't have a very good experience over all with the home with many issues!!! to which I will not comment on at the moment. Some of the carers show care and compassion, but not all of them, one of the nursing staff was ok, the other incompetent!!

From the first point of enquiry and throughout my mum's four week Respite Care stay we experienced kindness and professionalism from all the staff whatever their role at Bridge Manor. The fabric and environment is of a very high standard with spacious rooms that facilitate movement with walking aids
etc. But of course the quality of care is paramount and this was excellent. Every effort was made to offer bespoke care that accommodated my mum's frailties whilst offering her access to lots of added value activities. She experienced the care as personalised to her needs enhanced by staff who were kind and happy to chat to her showing interest in what was important to her. At a time of intense heatwave the staff exercised significant vigilance managing the vulnerabilities of frail elderly in this situation encouraging hydration etc. My mum had a most enjoyable time there during our absence on holiday and as a whole family we are grateful for such a high quality care experience thank you.
