A wonderful experience at Hanford Court. All the staff were pleasant, helpful, caring and would take time to help whenever assistance was needed. All the residence were catered for and encouraged to take part in any activities and mix with others. The menu each day was brilliant offering a good choice
of food for all tastes. The rooms were clean, bright and plenty of room to move around. Having an ensuite was brilliant as practicable for all. Offering trips out was a bonus for the residents. Also having access to having your hair and feet done is so helpful. A lovely home for all residents, in other words home from home.

My cousin came to Darwin Court in November 2024. He was helped to settle in with kindness and care. As a 81 year old bachelor who lived on his own and was suffering from Alzheimer's, he adapted to his new life helped by the excellent facilities and the kindness of staff. Any of my concerns were addressed
immediately and did not have to be addressed again.

During my career I helped to set up and manage fifteen care homes for the elderly. I have the POA for my cousin and when his dementia made it dangerous for him to live on his own, I investigated two homes in London, where he lived, and three homes near me. Darwin Court met my cousin's needs and his
financial position. Their help with moving him was excellent.

My dad needed a permanent placement following 12 weeks in a temporary home. My husband and myself looked at several homes and didn't feel any of them would be appropriate. When we visited Abbey Court, we immediately felt this was a good fit for Dad. The home is bright, cheery, clean and welcoming. The
staff are lovely and kind. Dad's room is pleasantly furnished and overlooks the garden. This is a fantastic home.
Reply from Kerry Craddock, Home Manager at Abbey Court Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for sharing such a heartfelt review. Your kind words are truly appreciated by everyone here.

Despite this home being fully aware of the challenges my father brought thw management took my father in as a resident however he was quickly isolated by the majority of the staff (other than Mohammed, Mike & 1 or 2 others). He was never encouraged to get involved in activities or to eat in communal
dinining area. On several occassions he soiled bedding or other areas & there seemed to be no urgency to clean either him or the area. On occassions we cleaned him up ourselves rather than wait for staff to come to his aid. From day one he was promised a Tv in his room but we had to supply our own despite staff sitting in a larg unused lounge watching a TV. I found onevor 2 staff to be extremely lazy with one particular carer always easy to find sat on her backside in the lounge. As soon as he showed a little agression we were told he had to leave. Ge has dementia so what did they expect? To be honest I struggle to see where the £1600 a week we were paying went.
Reply from Chrissy Sanders, Customer Service Manager at Darwin Court Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for sharing your feedback. We are obviously disappointed that you have had a negative experience. We take all feedback very seriously, as our aim is to provide the best possible care. We are sorry you felt that the care for your father did not meet your expectations, we were completely transparent with his care and were always available to discuss any concerns.
We are more than happy to discuss this further with one of our senior members of our team, who will reach out privately to you.

I am so pleased to become a resident at Crispin Court Care Home for the last 2 1/2 years Sept 24. The thing I think I am well cared for every day by well trained care staff. I can have a shower or wash every day, then breakfast in comfort dining room with background music. I have porridge with cut up
fruit I have in my bedroom cut up by me every ay, then either a cooked breakfast of many different things or toast & marmalade or jam with cup of tea or coffee which is plenty for the day served between 8am - 10.30am

I've just visited my uncle who has been in this care home for a couple of years now. I visit at different times and days and have found all the staff that you bump into to be caring and happy. Most of the residents enjoy entertainment from staff and outside agencies. The home is clean and tidy and is
currently enjoying a "makeover" with new carpets and decor. The managers Julie and Kirsty are very approachable, as are the rest of the admin staff. Xmas decorations are going up now and residents are looking forward to parties. In the summer staff take dementia residents down the gardens for a potter around. I know my uncle loves this.

Two things I would like to say:

- I was very pleased to obtain respite care for my dad at fairly short notice. Two weeks before he needed care, they managed to offer him a place

- My dad appears a lot more perky after his stay there, with the slight downside that he is more clingy to me and doesn't

want to be left alone, as he clearly has had more company there

Mum had been at Horsefair for over three years. After a change in management the ethos in the home changed, sadly not for the better. Ultimately I have moved Mum, which was a very hard decision as she is 95 with severe dementia. However, in order to protect her dignity and to ensure compassionate
treatment, I felt I had no choice.

Due to my dad's inevitable deteriorating mobility, I reluctantly needed to look into care home residency for him. My dad has now lived at Rowan Court for well over a year. For most of the time, my dad is now happy and comfortable, considering the extent of his needs. The support, skills, care and friendly
and welcoming atmosphere provided by the staff at Rowan Court have greatly benefited my dad since he has been there. The staff also effectively monitor his ongoing health needs. I am so happy that I have peace of mind that he always receives his medication, he is clean, well-fed and sometimes entertained by visiting singers! Care home costs for self-funders with disabilities are far too high generally, hence my "satisfactory" score, but I feel that Rowan Court staff really do invest in providing good quality care for my dad's needs. Thank you to all the staff at Rowan Court.

Rowan Court helped us enormously when we could no longer look after Mum at home. Mum is a very independent 95-year-old and at Rowan Court she is treated like a family member, all staff are welcoming and attentive, aware of Mum's need for independence treating her with respect and helping while retaining
her dignity and keeping her safe especially with washing and dressing. After a stay (respite) Mum was happy to stay on a permanent basis. Enjoying a day trip with a cuppa and cream cake and the good food choices really helped! Rowan Court have been wonderful in helping us achieve this working with us to help us settle Mum in what she calls her final home.

Darwin Court is a bright and friendly place. A 'family' feel is found throughout - from the bistro next to reception into each suite. Staff and management work hard to engage both residents and their families in the many and varied events available. Staff on each wing/suite are alert to any developing
health or 'mood' issues, and advise appropriate seniors, thus avoiding more deep-seated problems. A great bonus is the lovely roof garden.
