Care Homes Owned by Avery Healthcare Group in Staffordshire

My Dad has been in Rowan Court Care Home, Silverdale since May 2025. I have just had to move him due to Financial Assessment/lack of funding from Council. So sad as I cannot speak highly enough of the staff here and the care they gave him. As a family, we are so grateful for the compassion and care of all the staff from day one. There were tears on both side as I took him away today. The next home has a tall order to live up to!

My mother was placed in a different care home after 3 weeks they told us she had to be moved. We felt in a very difficult position and very vulnerable, as we felt the 1st home did not tell us the truth, got us there under false pretenses. Cruel on mum whose dementia went really downhill at the first home. HF could not have helped out any more, they were so understanding, giving us a lot of support, help + guidance. Nothing was too much trouble. Mum settled as best as she could with her vascular dementia, straight away, no problems like at the first home. Wish we had sent her there initially.

My step mother was placed into care at Horsefair House, initially on respite but now permanent. From the moment she entered care, the whole team in particular the carers, have provided the upmost in their care and compassion towards her and also towards my father who they recognised instantly was struggling with this transition from their marital home where he'd cared for his wife before her placement. Every member of staff, bar none, have been exemplary and the whole team deserve recognition. What a wonderful environment they have created. Thank you

Wonderful stay

From the minute my mother entered as a respite patient to four weeks later, now a permanent resident, we have all been shown the greatest empathy, kindness and care. The resident is obviously their priority but the family are never forgotten - they are guided, helped and supported, especially my father who struggled with the transition. We will be forever grateful for choosing Horsefair House from the many available in the area.

Staff are extremely helpful and diligent and provide a safe and caring environment for all residents. The facilities are excellent, the garden in particular is a good focal point for the residents, especially in the summer months.

It's a whirlwind of emotions associated with a loved one going into full time care - A friend who had experienced this said to me that they can't look after your loved one the way you do at home - but while that is true, however, I don't feel that my husband is lacking in care - his needs are well met and he is fond of his carers and they appear to be fond of him and offer affection to him and other residents which is lovely to see as a relative.

I hope to come back next year.

Dad has generally settled into life at Darwin Court. It was hard for him to adjust at first. He gets very emotional and often says he's lonely. He enjoys the Bingo afternoons and listening to the entertainers and finds them uplifting. I found the experience of dad leaving us upsetting and difficult even though I knew it was for the best, for dad and us. I have to mention in particular certain people who have been very kind and helpful to dad and myself. I appreciate their help so much and I know he does. Chrissy and Hayley have been helpful and encouraging. Aimee and Deb have been outstanding carers. They really do go above and beyond and really do care. Liz has been good. She helped dad the morning he was very ill in his bedroom. I found him asleep in his chair after having nose bleeds and being sick. He had been given breakfast in his room which was untouched. I hate to say it but I feel the young carer who gave it to dad could possibly have ignored him, being in the messy state he was in, Liz came straight away helped dad and realised he needed medical assistance. He was taken to hospital, pneumonia was diagnosed. Michelle, the activity lady is wonderful and really has helped dad by chatting with him and getting him to join in with things. The laundry ladies and the cleaners are always friendly and helpful, as are the receptionists. A little thing but dad enjoys having a hot chocolate every day in the bistro. I feel dad could sometimes benefit with a bit more help with his personal care and his changes of clothes. On the whole, I am pleased with Darwin and the care he is getting.

My mom came into the care home following a serious fall, initially for respite, she decided to stay longer, then told us to sell her house as she would be staying. She is mentally competent so this was her own decision.

From the point that we initially contacted Crispin exploring the possibility of placing Dad in Respite Care they have offered us a very positive experience. Dad has been made to feel very welcome and had his care needs met in a way that has given us peace of mind, enabling us to have a relaxing holiday.

I am very grateful and happy that Dad has been able to move here and am sure he'll be very happy. Thankyou.

In the brief time my father in law has been a resident in Horse Fair, Rugeley. We have found the premises to be clean, well presented the staff appear to be numerous, happy and attentive. The facilities for visitors is exceptional. I've never had such a hot cup of coffee out of a machine than we do here

The care team have been great and made mum feel very welcome and comfortable in her room and on the suite. The whole team have made and changed processes and equipment to make transitioning mum the most comfortable as possible. Mum loves the room however enjoys spending time in the well equipped lounge. Food is very tasty with lots of options to cover all her needs however could be hotter (minor issue). I am very happy with.

Great staff, caring and friendly. They all show real love for my Mum who has been a resident there for 4 years and has dementia. Mum is happy, looked after brilliantly and the staff ensure that there are plenty of activities and interaction between themselves and the residents. The home is well managed and I am kept informed about my Mum and her needs and experiences. Everyone is friendly and polite whenever I visit. Keep up the good work.

Other staff just sit down and either on the tablet or on their phone - the manager always in her office.

The level of care and attention to detail was very good . Nothing seemed to much trouble once asked. The staff were polite and kind though out the stay . The general atmosphere of the place is very pleasing and comforting.

We found Darwin Court to be clean, very spacious and welcoming.

Mum went into Crispin Court in January and with the care and support of the staff has made huge progress. The facilities are more like a hotel than a care home, the food is beautiful and there are many activities. Staff are very helpful, kind and caring, it makes it a pleasure to visit mum in such a fantastic home and feel confident she is safe and well cared for.
