I was extremely fortunate to be able to place my mum in Southampton Manor Care Home for the final months of her life. From my initial meeting with staff, through to the end, I was very impressed by the professionalism of all the staff. Mum received the most excellent care, which was sensitive to her
needs at all times. All staff looked after her with compassion, patience, dignity and tremendous kindness. I could not have wished for better care, and I would thoroughly recommend this care home.
Reply from Grant Gibson, Client Liaison Manager at Southampton Manor Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you so much for sharing your kind and thoughtful words. we are truly honoured that you felt that our teams compassion, professionalism and dedication made a positive difference. Knowing that you felt mum was cared for with dignity, patience and kindness means the world to our team. It truly was an honour being able to get to know mum during this chapter of her life. From all of the team here at Southampton manor, thank you.

My Mum needed to be transferred to a care home due to slowly deteriorating dementia. Having known the care home for a while (I am local and have been involved with the care home as the local parish Vicar) I knew she would be well looked after there... and she really was. They were adaptable, loving
and thoughtful. Whenever anything was asked they were more than willing to help and support in whatever way they could. In the end my Mum was only there for 7 weeks as she died from a blood clot in the lungs. I was deeply moved when I saw the staff were themselves very upset and cried as they had got that close to her in that short time. The staff genuinely care and do their best to give what they can for all who live there. Thank you!

We were understandably extremely worried about how our 95 year old mother with dementia would settle into residential care. We were very pleasantly surprised however at how well she settled in at Winchester Heights. We were able to furnish her room with her own personal possessions to make her feel
more at home and visit as often as we liked. Everything seems to be managed as well as possible - everything including mum, is kept very clean and there seem to be enough staff to provide a good level of monitoring and care. As mum had been largely confined to one room at home, with very limited social contact, it has been amazing to see her mixing and socialising with people of her own age not to mention going out on trips to the cinema and Winchester Cathedral - being at Winchester Heights has certainly improved her quality of life. The great stress and weight of responsibility of caring for someone at home has been greatly lifted which has been a huge relief.
Reply from Dawn Sanders, Client Liaison Manager at Winchester Heights Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you for your feedback, we're delighted that mum has settled so well and is enjoying the activities and vibrancy of our community. It is nice that you were able to bring some furniture to personalise the room and make it feel homely, it is these extra touches that really do make a difference. We take great pride in ensuring we deliver high-quality care and facilities for our residents and it is important for us to know that you feel reassured since mum moved to Winchester Heights.

Our mother was a resident at Southampton Manor Care Home on reminiscence for 9 months until she sadly passed away peacefully in her sleep.
From our initial meeting/being shown around by the Client Liaison Manager and mum's assessment in hospital with the Dementia Care Manager prior to becoming a
resident - We as a family knew this home was the right choice for mum. The nurses and carers on reminiscence were professional, kind and compassionate. The continuity of staff and sense of community really stood out to us. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they supported us many times throughout our journey with mum.
We would highly recommend Southampton Manor Home to anyone looking to place a loved one into a setting that offers peace of mind, a sense of belonging and wonderful staff that are trained in dementia care.
Reply from Grant Gibson, Client Liaison Manager at Southampton Manor Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. It means a great deal to our entire team that you felt supported from the very beginning of your journey with us. We are so happy to know that the care, kindness and consistency provided by our reminiscence community brought comfort to both your mum and your family during her time with us. Your words are a touching reminder of why we do what we do. Knowing that you would recommend Southampton Manor is an honour. thank you again for sharing your experience, it really does mean so much to the entire team.

My wife has dementia and other health issue. She entered Lavender Lodge over 18 months ago. I have nothing but praise for the home and people who work there. They're all committed to treating the residents (and family and friends) with kindness and dignity. It's a demanding job and they do it admirably,
whatever their role: carers, nurses, chefs, kitchen staff, health and wellbeing team, maintenance - and any I've forgotten to mention. Food is of a high standard. The place is clean. A full schedule of activities is provided - everything from quizzes to shows with a variety of live performers and outdoor activities when weather allows.
The family made the right choice in Lavender Lodge.

My sister has now been in Lavender Lodge well over one year. We feel the home has been well chosen, having spent many months looking at nursing homes in our area. The move from the nursing home on the IOW was a big step for my sister to be nearer her family. My sister needs high ended care and is bed
bound which this nursing home is able to deal with, many of the staff have worked here for many years. Care and attention is excellent and always treat my sister with the highest respect. I find the staff very friendly and helpful at all times I visit the home many times a week at different times of the day so I can see how kind and caring the staff are who are around to check all is well. I have been made to feel very welcome myself each time I visit, always ask if i would like a cup of tea !! It is a great comfort that my sister is being very well looked after, thank you Lavender Lodge and staff.

The home is fantastic and could not ask for anything else for dad. Great job team ! But did ask for ramp out to Veranda area to be looked at as it's rotten and not screwed in anymore. Was told people were coming out. To look at it but it's still the same . This is not a moan just a health and safety
reference.
But your care for dad is 200% now he is on the first floor. X

Looking for residential care for a parent is not easy; however I can say thank you to the all the team it has been made so much easier. Right from the first contact I had I knew that it was a very caring establishment. Then when I visited for the first time it was confirmed. A very welcoming atmosphere,
caring, homely, comfortable and a happy place. Not only was the welcome for mum great but for my sister and myself as well. The contact with all the staff brilliant, approachable and understanding. Then we were introduced to the all the actives; something for everyone every day of the week, amazing . It comes across that the well being of each resident is a priority. I think that all is left for me to say is a hugh THANK YOU to whole team. I would recommend Winchester Heights without hesitation.

My grandmother stayed here for 2 weeks in August for respite care whilst I was abroad. She has stayed previously here and there but the name of the building/ management has changed over the years. However the derive and amenities were still spot on. She had the best time and I didn't have to worry
at all whilst I was away. It's honestly like a little holiday and just really lovely to have some peace of mind for everyone. Would happily recommend to anyone I know.

Dad moved in following a slight decline in memory. Having looked at a few local care homes, Fleet Hall stood out for it's very high quality room (recently refurbished), lovely caring staff, great food and good focus on keeping the residents engaged in a variety of activities, both within and away from
the home. The home is conveniently located within Fleet town centre but has good sized and peaceful grounds to enjoy. Dad is only 3 weeks in but is starting to settle after an understandable unsettling transition from home to care home - but the staff have been very good in helping him through this initial period. I am confident that he will fully settle in time and enjoy what the home has to offer.

Mum had respite care which was very good . All the staff I dealt with were extremely caring , helpful and professional. Mum stayed in a room that was spotless , modern and comfortable . Mum absolutely loved the food which is of a really good quality .Good variety too.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend
this care setting . The ratio of staff to residents is good too. Southampton Manor has lots of lovely activities daily , plenty of stimulating things to get involved in . The bistro is nice for visiting family too as well as residents . The place has a nice cosy vibe to it , plenty of space but the rooms are well equipped too depending on the type of suite you require.
A spacious garden that is easy to access which Mum enjoyed .
They have hairdressers , visiting doctors , exercise classes , music recitals , all sorts going on !
Mum was well looked after and safe with great care at all times . They were even able to accompany Mum to a medical appointment which was so helpful .
Thanks again
