We chose Southampton Manor after viewing a number of Care Homes for my Dad and he became a resident in July 2025. I also received a couple of personal recommendations from friends who had relatives here. The first few weeks were really tough for us all emotionally but the staff here have been so supportive
especially to my Mum who visits every day. Dad is now on the Reminiscence Floor and the staff have been so kind and understanding. Southampton Manor has qualified nursing staff which was reassuring and important to us. The home is very clean and well organised with lovely areas like the Bistro and the Garden. There is a team of staff who organise activties and regular varied musical entertainment. Dad has generally settled well, is safe and well cared for at the home he enjoys the meals and often I stay and assist him. We have made lots of friends here staff, residents and their families which has helped so much. I have no hesitatiion in recommending Southampton Manor.
Reply from Grant Gibson, Client Liaison Manager at Southampton Manor Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful heartfelt review. we know how emotionally challenging the first few weeks can be when a loved one moves into care , and we're truly grateful that you trusted Southampton Manor with your dads care. it means a great deal to hear that our team has been able to support not only your dad, but also your mum during her daily visits. Your kid words about the Reminiscence floor, our nursing team, and the compassion shown by our staff will be shared with everyone, they will be very proud to know the difference they've made. We're delighted that your dad has settled well and is enjoying the meals ,activities, music and friendship that are such an important part of life at Southampton Manor Thank you again for your recommendation and for being part of the Southampton Manor community.

I had booked for a 2 week stay- after having HIP operation 3 days before coming into "the manor" home. The bed wasn't very comfortable, needed a better mattress or recovering- not suitable for a long stay. Couldn't reach to open windows.
Reply from Grant Gibson, Client Liaison Manager at Southampton Manor Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you for taking the time to share your feedback, we're sorry to learn that the mattress was not your preference, especially following your hip operation. We also appreciate you mentioning the window access, as this helps us understand how we can improve for future guests. We were concerned that Joe wouldn't settle in a care home, but right from day 1 he seemed happy and at home. The staff seem really friendly and helpful and on the few occasions he has needed urgent assistance, help was very quick to arrive. Facilities are generally very good although the mobility scooter
needs some repair, so he has his scooter in his room, which is not a problem.

Dad had been living independently and very active until approx 6 months before joining the Southampton Manor community. After a number of falls he made the decision that he needed to live somewhere where there was more help available. We visited several options but the reception from the staff at the
manor made it stand out and after 3 visits (to address questions) he signed up. He has never looked back. He is well looked after by amazing friendly and caring staff. Thank you.

Mum enjoyed her respite stay at Fleet Hall during what was a difficult time for the family - it truly felt like a warm hug. From the moment I walked in the home the staff were fantastic, they greeted you with genuine smiles and made you feel instantly at ease. Everyone was attentive, patient and treated
mum with the utmost respect.
The food was delicious albeit it too much , mum's complaint ! plenty of options to choose from . Mum loved or rather her great granddaughters loved the cafe , even thought they are only 5 and 7 they were made very welcome every time.
The activities were varied ranging from gentle exercises to cooking and craft sessions and despite my mums blindness she was always made welcome and included.
Overall Fleet Hall gave my mum a comfortable ,caring, supportive space for 4 weeks and when the need arises I will definitely seek out a room for her again
Reply from Melody Laver-Snape, Client Liaison Manager at Fleet Hall Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you for sharing such a warm and thoughtful review. It means a great deal to hear that Fleet Hall provided comfort and reassurance during a challenging time for your family. The team will be delighted to know their genuine welcome, attentive care, and respectful support made such a positive difference to your mum.
It's lovely to hear she enjoyed the food and activities, and that her great-granddaughters felt so at home in the caf. Inclusion is incredibly important to us, so knowing your mum was always made to feel part of everything despite her blindness is especially meaningful.
We're grateful for your trust, and it's wonderful to know you would choose Fleet Hall again when needed.

My Father in law was well cared for and was well loved by all the staff.
The meals were well cooked and varied with a well planned menu
The activities team were hard working and always had a daily plan for the residents.
My Mother in law was welcomed any time to spend the day and was able to have
lunch and tea and biscuits in the afternoon, watching telly and joining in with any activities.
This is a brilliant well run care home and we would have no hesitation recommending it to anyone.

I was extremely fortunate to be able to place my mum in Southampton Manor Care Home for the final months of her life. From my initial meeting with staff, through to the end, I was very impressed by the professionalism of all the staff. Mum received the most excellent care, which was sensitive to her

My Mum needed to be transferred to a care home due to slowly deteriorating dementia. Having known the care home for a while (I am local and have been involved with the care home as the local parish Vicar) I knew she would be well looked after there... and she really was. They were adaptable, loving
and thoughtful. Whenever anything was asked they were more than willing to help and support in whatever way they could. In the end my Mum was only there for 7 weeks as she died from a blood clot in the lungs. I was deeply moved when I saw the staff were themselves very upset and cried as they had got that close to her in that short time. The staff genuinely care and do their best to give what they can for all who live there. Thank you!

We were understandably extremely worried about how our 95 year old mother with dementia would settle into residential care. We were very pleasantly surprised however at how well she settled in at Winchester Heights. We were able to furnish her room with her own personal possessions to make her feel
more at home and visit as often as we liked. Everything seems to be managed as well as possible - everything including mum, is kept very clean and there seem to be enough staff to provide a good level of monitoring and care. As mum had been largely confined to one room at home, with very limited social contact, it has been amazing to see her mixing and socialising with people of her own age not to mention going out on trips to the cinema and Winchester Cathedral - being at Winchester Heights has certainly improved her quality of life. The great stress and weight of responsibility of caring for someone at home has been greatly lifted which has been a huge relief.
Reply from Dawn Sanders, Client Liaison Manager at Winchester Heights Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you for your feedback, we're delighted that mum has settled so well and is enjoying the activities and vibrancy of our community. It is nice that you were able to bring some furniture to personalise the room and make it feel homely, it is these extra touches that really do make a difference. We take great pride in ensuring we deliver high-quality care and facilities for our residents and it is important for us to know that you feel reassured since mum moved to Winchester Heights.

Our mother was a resident at Southampton Manor Care Home on reminiscence for 9 months until she sadly passed away peacefully in her sleep.
From our initial meeting/being shown around by the Client Liaison Manager and mum's assessment in hospital with the Dementia Care Manager prior to becoming a
resident - We as a family knew this home was the right choice for mum. The nurses and carers on reminiscence were professional, kind and compassionate. The continuity of staff and sense of community really stood out to us. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they supported us many times throughout our journey with mum.
We would highly recommend Southampton Manor Home to anyone looking to place a loved one into a setting that offers peace of mind, a sense of belonging and wonderful staff that are trained in dementia care.

My wife has dementia and other health issue. She entered Lavender Lodge over 18 months ago. I have nothing but praise for the home and people who work there. They're all committed to treating the residents (and family and friends) with kindness and dignity. It's a demanding job and they do it admirably,
whatever their role: carers, nurses, chefs, kitchen staff, health and wellbeing team, maintenance - and any I've forgotten to mention. Food is of a high standard. The place is clean. A full schedule of activities is provided - everything from quizzes to shows with a variety of live performers and outdoor activities when weather allows.
The family made the right choice in Lavender Lodge.
