Upstairs corridors and rooms are very warm and would benefit from air conditioning. Helen in the admin team has also been amazing.

Dad has vascular dementia. After several months in hospital we found it necessary to find a care home for him. Aran Court has been a life line for us, especially for Dad who is 94! He has had wonderful care and made such progress in his physical ability and his mental health has much improved. (In the couple of months hes been a resident). The staff are very attentive and caring right from reception through to all members of the team.

I cannot praise the management and staff at Knowle Gate enough, everyone has made my father feel so so welcome. The care and compassion shown is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble and as a family it is so comforting to know he is happy.

I enjoyed my experience. I found the care good - the food was ok. Very friendly staff always available and ready to help.

There is also a welcoming and happy environment.

All of the staff have been amazing + look after my mom exceptionally well

My father has been a resident at Albion Court since November 2025, initially under Respite care provision and now as a permanent resident. I was not involved in the arrangements, so was concerned about how Dad would respond toward the transition from his home environment, to a nursing home. I have found that he adapted well, is settled, looks well, mostly, his clothes are smart, and generally matched, but on a few occasions I have noticed that a bit more thought could be put into choice of top to go with trouser bottoms. Dad was always used to looking smart. Overall myself and siblings are satisfied with his care, staff and surroundings. I am not involved with his finances.

On the whole, my relative is well looked after by all the staff. The room is kept spotless by the housekeeping team. Carers employed by the home are excellent, but this does not reflect on the agency staff that are used at times. Some of the meals are very good but sometimes they are below parr and very samey. Activities are not designed for everyone, heavily female based activities.

Overall happy with the care

Dad has been well looked after overall at Birchmere House. The care staff are generally caring and helpful. I pointed out recently that Dad doesn't get opportunity to be included in afternoon scenic drives as gets sleepy after lunch and staff kindly said they would attempt to organise a morning drive one day. Main concern is sometimes Dad asks to be put to bed + waiting times vary.

The most recent was her glasses cord, which taken and replaced with a shoe lace. I have now bought a new very colourful cord, will wait to see if that goes missing. I think someone is spoiling the standards of the home by taking things from vunerable people.

Activities need refreshing

Hawthorns Aldridge is run extremely well Judy the manager has done an exceptional service and her many staff are excellent and go above and beyond . The food is well prepared and served to a high lever I believe this cafe home is a flag ship of how a home should be run

Dad and mum were both treated with respect and dignity from the moment they arrived. The friendliness of all staff members to them both when they first arrived, eased them into living in this environment, as they really wanted to stay at home.

Every staff member greets you with a smile and knows our names, we are always made to feel welcome whatever time we visit including the dogs..

One of the main reasons for picking this home was the facilities, entertainment provided to the residents, the days out, singers and variety of food.

As soon as you enter it feels like home, coffee machine and cake on a daily basis for visitors if required.

Dad loves it here.

I cannot praise Knowle Gates Care Home enough. I was struck by the warm, friendly and caring environment from the minute I came for a visit. Everyone is so polite, respectful, and kind, and it is obvious they care about the residents and their well-being. There is a great sense of "family atmosphere" in the house, and everyone is treated as an individual with dignity and kindness. I have always been comforted knowing that my friend is being cared for by a team that takes extra steps to ensure people feel comfortable, protected and respected. The staff are very personable and always ready to speak to you and keep you updated. 5 stars without question!

Dad moved to Knowle Gate around three months ago following a life-changing stroke and hospital stay. All the staff have been incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. Dad is very well cared for, and it has been such a relief to see him happy, settled, and continuing to improve. He enjoys the nutritious meals and the daily routine of going to the dining room, where he can interact with other residents, as well as taking part in the activities. The exercise classes and physio have made a significant difference to Dad's mobility, and we are delighted that he is now walking again. The home is spotlessly clean and modern with a lovely fragrance throughout. Visitors are always made to feel welcome and can enjoy refreshments and the communal areas provide comfortable spaces to sit and relax rather than being confined to a bedroom. We had no reservations about leaving Dad in the safe hands of Knowle Gate and seeing him thrive has given our family great comfort and peace of mind.

Kind and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this care home to anyone looking for care for their family or friends. They go above and beyond to make sure the residents are safe and happy. The different activities and exercise sessions are a welcome addition. 5 star

My Dad has been a resident of Knowle Gate since May 2026. We didn't want Dad going into residential care but his care needs changed and could no longer stay in his own home. From the minute we had a tour of the home, the staff were warm, welcoming and so friendly. When Dad became a permanent resident, he has been treated with respect and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. He can be a fussy eater but they always make sure his needs are catered for. Since coming to Knowle Gate everyone keeps saying how much better he is looking and I can't thank the staff enough for their support and dedication. Dad can be a bit of a loner but the Activities Co-ordinators always try and encourage him to get involved with daily activities. Each time a member of staff pops into his room, they spend time making sure he is ok, this includes domestic staff, carers and maintenance. The Drs who visit are also absolutely amazing. Thank you everyone at the home for looking after Dad and us as a family x
