I was very impressed from the first time I walked in. Staff extremely friendly and helpfull. Carers were the same most of the time without the need for agency staff which enabled great rapports with the residents. The food was good quality with plenty of choice. Mum only attended a few activities but
enjoyed the ones she did, especially she enjoyed the musical entertainment and singing along. My mum could be very dificult at times so thank you for your patience and care. I would highly recommend Birchmere House.
Reply from Nicola Urry, Client Liaison Manager at Birchmere House Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for your review and kind words. The care my mum received at Bourn View was as professional, compassionate and warm as we could possibly have hoped. It's a luxury-styled place, but that would be nothing without the staff. They are gentle, patient, kind and attentive. Nothing and no one is trouble. My mum was so safe, happy and healthy,
we stopped worrying. I can't say better than that - we stopped worrying. Bourn View is a wonderful place that you can trust, without question.

My daughter has been in the phone for 12 years, and there have been a number of different managers, but I must say the present management have given the home a real boost. They listen to all queries and try to solve them to the best of their abilities. There does need to be more lighting in the car
park for the safety of relatives and staff with the dark night.
Reply from Debbie Scott, Manager at Aran Court Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for your kind words. The lighting is awaiting approval and will be completed as soon as date is set, as yes it does seem to be particularly dark out there! Thanks again

My grandad initially came for respite in June for 4 weeks, he loved it so much that he became a permanent resident in August. As a family we noticed such a difference in him, he was happier, his mobility improved and it was lovely to see him getting involved in the activities. The care home is beautiful,
bright, clean and the staff are incredible. I have already recommended Bourn View to a couple of people whi have been looking at care homes for their family members. Thank you to everyone for taking such care in our family memories.

Mum could not be looked after any better at Avalon Court. She is always telling me how lucky she is to be there. Over the years she has been a resident, and she has had a few falls resulting in broken bones. Each time this happens, the staff implement and strengthen the care and safeguarding mum receives.
The caring staff not only look out for the residents but also become family to all involved. The entertainment team work so hard to provide joyous activities that are enjoyed by all. A big thank you.

Staff on reception are always welcoming and friendly. Care staff, from all units, when I have seen them while in the bistro, are friendly, always saying hello to relatives & residents from different units. When I have had any concerns, management been caring and have listened. My concerns have been

I can't begin to describe how happy I am to have found such a warm, friendly and caring home for my dad. The staff are just so kind to Dad and to my sister and I. The activities are so well thought out and relevant. Dad has visibly improved both physically and even mentally which considering his dementia
this is a real bonus. We are so pleased and relieved to have found Dad's new forever home.

The care and attention my mother receives from all members of the care team, is above and beyond their call of duty.
They all provide a caring, loving atmosphere, in which my mother (if she were able) would be very thankful.
They also provide a very friendly and loving greeting and emotional support
to myself and two other siblings.
We are very happy with the first class accommodation and surroundings, including top class food, laundry and all other essential services.
The activities the home provide is pro-active, and have been varied content (fitness, cooking, music, dancing etc) in helping to keep Mom alive and loved.
Thank you all for your well earned contribution in my Moms welfare.

Birchmere has a calm atmosphere and the staff are always friendly and helpful - from the Carers, Receptionists and Activities Co-ordinators through to the Cleaners and Laundry Assistants. Residents are treated with care and respect, with individual care plans taking into account personal needs and
preferences. Food is varied and interesting and residents are enouraged to join in with the the many activities, some of which include family and friends. I would not hesitate to recommend Birchmere to anyone looking for residential care in the area.

My 94 year old father has been at Knowle Gate Care Home for nearly a month. During that time every member of their staff has treated him with gentle care, consideration and respect. He has settled extremely well. My sister and I have also received the same care and compassion, which has been a great
comfort during this very stressful time. Nothing is too much trouble and we are made to feel that we are part of the team that care for dad. The food is excellent and care is taken to ensure that he is well nourished and properly hydrated. Something that is very important to his well being. There are lots of different activities available, some are group based, others are tailored to the individual, all residents are encouraged to take part. The facilities include a lovely garden. I would have no hesitation in recommending Knowle Gate. It is an excellent Care Home, which offers all round care for their residents and families. Thank you Knowle Gate keep up the excellent work.

Earlier this year my 95 year old Mother moved into Birchmere after an extended stay in hospital. She had been in bed for weeks and was unable to walk. We needn't have worried! No sooner had she arrived, than the team swung into action. Mum was soon mobilised with the help of physiotherapy, and began
participating in some of the many activities on offer. We have arrived several times to visit to find her happily singing along with the other residents, something she loves. The staff are unfailingly kind and often go the extra mile to make Mum's life better. They really do care. As her health has deteriorated, they have adapted accordingly. Communication is excellent and all standards are high. I would recommend Birchmere without hesitation as I believe they offer the best possible care .

What a wonderful place! The care team and ALL staff members have made my mom so comfortable and well cared for. They always welcome family members who visit with open arms and affection. This means a lot and helps the family temendously.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to the team at Birchmere House for the exceptional care & kindness they've shown my family & my brother from the moment he arrived. He was welcomed with warmth and compassion. The staff are consistently friendly, caring and attentive, making him feel comfortable
& valued. The care provided is exceptional, with a strong focus on his individual needs. The home offers excellent social interaction & mental stimulation through a variety of activities & daily entertainment, which has made a posative impact on his well-being. The home itself is always clean, bright & inviting with well maintained rooms,. Food is delicious, Management is always aproachable and available. Thankyou to the entire team for your dedication & care :)
