Aran Court is a very welcoming home. The Management team have an open door policy and are happy to engage with the residents and their families. The nurses and carers deliver excellent care and will always explain anything about your care that you wish to discuss
The home is decorated to a high standard
with several areas allocated to the residents and their families to use. There are always activities taking place and weekly excursions to local areas. There is a lovely garden with a garden room and a pagoda to enjoy
There is always something delicious on the menu but if you do fancy something different the chef is happy to accommodate
There is a professional laundry service on site with a great team taking care of everyone's washing.
The home is kept spotlessly clean and maintained by a wonderful team of housekeepers and maintenance team.
Aran Court offers excellent care and support for all of the residents.

Thank you for such a lovely, positive review. Deb has been a resident at Aran Court for over 12 years and takes her job as patient ambassador very seriously. She helps new admissions settle in, she signposts the families and hold's resident meetings quarterly and ensures all our residents have their voices heard. She is a great advocate for all. She has also recently overseen a community project which enabled us to have our garden pod area extended so more assessable for wheelchair users. Thank you Deb for all you do.

Mom had dementia and sadly has now passed away. There was very little in the way of stimulation; admittedly towards the end of her life she was in bed and did not respond but when she was able to go into the residential lounge there was limited stimulation. On many occasions we had to alert the manager
that no staff were present in the lounge ( a requirement given that all of the residents had dementia) - when staff were present they did not , seemingly, interact with the residents, they were focussed on their phones.

Mom had a MRI Scan and we constantly enquired whether the results had been received; always the answer was no. I have since found out that the results were sent to another location on the 17th April. Aran Court worked with them so I fail to understand why these results were not known by Aran Court. I am chasing this up through the head office.

I would question the staff to resident ratio on the dementia unit.

Overall experience at Aran Court has been excellent! Staff, communication brilliant. The only thing on a daily basis, would be his main meal, very large portion, possibly too much, all vegetables are huge, could definitely do with being chopped up into smaller pieces please.

From the initial contact on the phone to enquire, we have had the most supportive people around us, in this huge family change. We feel like Avon Court has become an extension of our family and friends! Only thing would be the meals, very large and vegetables really need to be chopped up smaller.

Aran Court is an extremely welcoming environment where you are met with smiles from the moment you walk through the doors. There is an air of contentment throughout the building and staff are always willing to help and reassure both residents and visitors without hesitation.
Any queries or problems
are dealt with swiftly and there is a level of transparency evident in all decisions made. I would certainly recommend this care home to any relatives looking for 'live in' care.

My experience was good, but one woman stood above the rest. Kind, caring, polite, hard-working and a great personality. On the second floor, she works in the office. I've cared for my friend for 34 years voluntarily. She has probably been the best when you go through life some people are not great but
one staff member, she was a real team winner.

She seems to be completely happy and has a smile on her face the majority of the time.

My mother was transferred to Aran Court Care Home from hospital in February and was a resident there until she passed away in May. Throughout Mum's stay I was very impressed and reassured that she was receiving excellent care. All staff showed great kindness to Mum and were very attentive and proactive
in her care, swiftly identifying her needs and putting actions in place to address them. Communication between staff and myself was very good - I was kept well-informed and any queries I had were addressed promptly.
From the minute we stepped into the reception area Mum's family and friends were greeted with smiles and made to feel welcome; nothing seemed to be too much trouble and there was always a feeling of calm, warmth and friendliness.
I would not hesitate to recommend Aran Court Care Home and am very grateful to everyone there that Mum was able to spend the final months of her life in such a pleasant, caring and happy environment.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.642)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.642) out of 10 for Aran Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.377 for Aran Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare is calculated as follows: ( (60 Excellents x 5) + (30 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.377

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.265 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Aran Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 86 registered maximum number of service users is 17.2. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 17.2 = 0.465

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
