Maureen, my sister, had been in a couple of care home, but when she became a resident here, she got on really well with all of the staff. And they make her so welcome. But sadly, she lost her fight with dementia on 29/12/2025.

Reply from Rachel Aran, Marketing Administrator at Aran Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Thank you so much for sharing these kind words about your sister. It means a great deal to us to know that she felt welcomed, cared for, and supported during her time here. She was a truly special person, and it was our privilege to be part of her life.

We are deeply sorry for your loss. Dementia is a heart breaking journey, and our thoughts are with you and your family.

I am very pleased with my room, I like to look out at the garden and watch the birds and squirrels, and the cars and people passing by.
The staff are always very friendly and take time to listen. It is a really pleasant environment with staff working well together. The staff work very hard but find time to chat to me.

I am confined to bed but am helped to change position every two hours. My door is always open and I like to hear the sounds from other rooms, and staff passing by giving me a friendly greeting. I am happy here, more than happy.

My mother, Savita, spent just over two months in assessment care at Arran Court.
She had the best experience possible and was taken great care of. I also found all of the staff helpful and friendly (office, reception, carers, etc.).

Thanks for helping my mother over the last few months.

Reply from Debbie Scott, Deputy Manager at Aran Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare

The home is very welcoming with very knowledgeable front of house staff. There are regular meetings for residents with the Management team. Thd new Autumn/Winter menu has plenty of variety. The dining room experience is good.

The activity plans for Christmas have been discussed with the residents and include a Christmas Fete a Pantomime and a Carol service with local schools children

My mother was a resident of Aran Court from August 2025 to October 2025 in the EAB Unit on the first floor. We were impressed with the Care Home standards and the way they treated my mother as a resident, patient and person, with dignity and respect. The medical nurses were brilliant as were the care assistants. The facilities were great and the care home was secure. There was also good parking and I was always able to find a place to park. Everyone at Aran Court were friendly and courteous to visitors and felt at home when I went to visit my mother. There was always fresh food and as my mother was immobile and couldn't get to the dining room, so they always brought her food to the room. They did everything they could for my mother and I will aways be grateful for their service. The staff at the management office and the receptionists were always friendly and helpful also. I would give Aran Court more than 5 stars if I was able to, they were amazing the way they supported my mother!

My daughter has been in the phone for 12 years, and there have been a number of different managers, but I must say the present management have given the home a real boost. They listen to all queries and try to solve them to the best of their abilities. There does need to be more lighting in the car park for the safety of relatives and staff with the dark night.

Reply from Debbie Scott, Manager at Aran Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Thank you for your kind words. The lighting is awaiting approval and will be completed as soon as date is set, as yes it does seem to be particularly dark out there! Thanks again

Overall very pleased with home. Staff are lovely and considerate. Food is very good. Rooms very nice. Only issue is carers don't interact overly with residents. Activities staff work really hard, I'm sure when activities are not happening carers could do more with residents instead of just having the TV blaring away. I think there could be a few more carers, especially on floor 2 which is always understaffed.

Overall Experience

Mom had dementia and sadly has now passed away. There was very little in the way of stimulation; admittedly towards the end of her life she was in bed and did not respond but when she was able to go into the residential lounge there was limited stimulation. On many occasions we had to alert the manager that no staff were present in the lounge ( a requirement given that all of the residents had dementia) - when staff were present they did not , seemingly, interact with the residents, they were focussed on their phones.

Mom had a MRI Scan and we constantly enquired whether the results had been received; always the answer was no. I have since found out that the results were sent to another location on the 17th April. Aran Court worked with them so I fail to understand why these results were not known by Aran Court. I am chasing this up through the head office.

I would question the staff to resident ratio on the dementia unit.

Overall experience at Aran Court has been excellent! Staff, communication brilliant. The only thing on a daily basis, would be his main meal, very large portion, possibly too much, all vegetables are huge, could definitely do with being chopped up into smaller pieces please.

From the initial contact on the phone to enquire, we have had the most supportive people around us, in this huge family change. We feel like Avon Court has become an extension of our family and friends! Only thing would be the meals, very large and vegetables really need to be chopped up smaller.

Aran Court is an extremely welcoming environment where you are met with smiles from the moment you walk through the doors. There is an air of contentment throughout the building and staff are always willing to help and reassure both residents and visitors without hesitation.

Any queries or problems are dealt with swiftly and there is a level of transparency evident in all decisions made. I would certainly recommend this care home to any relatives looking for 'live in' care.

My experience was good, but one woman stood above the rest. Kind, caring, polite, hard-working and a great personality. On the second floor, she works in the office. I've cared for my friend for 34 years voluntarily. She has probably been the best when you go through life some people are not great but one staff member, she was a real team winner.
