Amazing place, the staff are a blessing, the management too, even down to the cleaning and reception staff. They all can't do enough for you. The care and attention your loved one gets is first class, I wouldn’t want my mother to be in any other place. She loves the food, her room is very spacious and
homely and entertainment is of the highest. Why would we, as a family, not want her to hear she will live out her days in a very happy environment and we, as a family, are very pleased with how she is treated as well as the other residents. Their care is amazing and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you Aran Court for making my mums stay as comfortable as she can possibly be.

My mum has been in 8 weeks and I couldn't be happier, the staff treat her excellently and her care is very good, she hasn’t been the same for years, but since being in Aran Court she has had the best care and she is the happiest she has been in years. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone
and recommend anyone to put there mother, father, grandma, grandad etc here, love this place.

I visited with a friend to see her grama today. I wasn’t looking forward to it as I have been in a care home before. I must say I was more than pleasantly surprised. The entrance was very welcoming and we were greeted by staff. There was no ‘old people’ smell which I was really grateful for. Her grama
was in the lounge with other residents and was having a chat with another resident. My friend was so happy to see her looking so well cared for and I was happy for her. Looks like lots to do and lots of staff in sight. Well done Aran Court.

My daughter has been a resident of Aron Court for nearly 3 years. I am so grateful to the nursing staff and the carers for their care of my daughter. Everyone at the home from the cleaners, kitchen staff and carers to the receptionists and the Care Manager are pleasant and approachable. There is
an open door policy and you can discuss any problems with the management at any time. There are regular meetings where we are kept up to date with what is going on in the home.

My 90 year old mother has been a resident at Aran Court since July 2010. At the time of admittance she was given a few months to live. We are now in March 2016 and mum is still with us and both myself and my family thank the staff for the care and attention shown to her on a daily basis. I would
also like to thank the staff for their patience when dealing with enquiries from her family.

Its a nice care home. I have been as a resident for the last 5 years now. If I was not happy I would not stay, I go into the office sometimes and sing to them ha ha, I can do what I want with in reason, I have my own garden, where I have grown some veg, the staff and management are brilliant I could
not ask for better, nothing is too much trouble and management are there for you. If you need to talk to them about anything you can and they will go over it with you, so you understand things a litter better, which puts your mind at rest. I am in a wheelchair and I really would not want to go anywhere else, it really is like home from home.

This home is a family. From management through to kitchen porters everyone is friendly efficient and work tirelessly 24/7 365 days a week. I viewed 17 homes with my mother before we came across this one.
This is the best home in Birmingham and they cater for every complex case turning no one away and
have nursed husband and wife together at the same time. The nursing skill is fantastic and their quick thinking have kept my father alive on numerous occasions . The care team are very hard working and have become my fathers other family. Should anyone out there find a better home please let me know and I will move my father there!!!

There is no better care home than Aran Court.

My husband has been in Aran Court for nearly 5 years, in this time he had been exceptionally well looked after, his every need is catered for, the carers are angels. My husband has behavioural problems along with a lot of medical conditions and the carers understand how to care for him, he has been
in other care homes but none meet the standard of Aran Court. The management are extremely competent in their positions and are always there to listen to any problems that I have have and have helped me understand my husband and always been there for me in my time if need. I can not fault this care in anyway what so ever I have nothing but praise for Aran Court.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.642)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.642) out of 10 for Aran Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.377 for Aran Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare is calculated as follows: ( (60 Excellents x 5) + (30 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.377

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.265 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Aran Court Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 86 registered maximum number of service users is 17.2. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 17.2 = 0.465

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
