My mum came to Adelaide when she was quite unwell and very confused. The staff were very attentive and looked after her well. She gradually improved and now feels at home. She can be very obstinate and awkward but the staff deal with her moods very well. I am very content with the care she receives.

My mother started in respire fr 4 weeks after breaking her wrist. She felt so safe and looked after, she decided to stay! At 92, she is experiencing new life skills such as balloon volleyball, which she loves. She has spent time meeting new friends and seems very happy and settled.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
When my mother-in-law's health suddenly declined late last year, we were fortunate she asked to move into care, but wanted to ensure it was the right decision. I came into this process with apprehension. My mum spent four difficult years in care, and my grandparents had been in care, so I have strong
feelings about what good care should look like. We have been incredibly impressed not just with the accommodation, but with the genuine care and humanity of the team. While the home is beautiful (we joke its like a four-star hotel), it's the people who stand out. Every interaction-from management to care staff, activities to maintenance-is marked by warmth, respect, and kindness. The weekly visiting doctors and the support with appointments and medications have given us peace of mind. My MIL has said more than once, "I didn't know places like this existed." That says everything. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Hampstead Court Care Home and cannot recommend it highly enough!
Reply from Abisola Olanrewaju, Client Liaison Manager at Hampstead Court Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you so much, Sharone, for your kind and heartfelt words. It has been an absolute delight having your mother-in-law in our care. We truly appreciate the trust that both you and Darren have placed in our team and have genuinely enjoyed having you all as part of our community. Your support means a great deal to the home, and were grateful for it.

My mother, in her mid 90s, has been a resident for two weeks. While on leave, I joined her daily at the Dove Ward mandir, where I met Hina leading prayers.
Hina shows compassion, professionalism, and dedication, involving all residents so no one feels excluded. During Ram Navami, I joined the arti
and saw her kindness and dignity.
Together with Edna, Ward Manager, she reassures families that their loved ones are in safe, caring hands. Thanks to Kerry, Stella & Uchenna for supporting mum's move from GM to London. Settling in is challenging due to mums likes, dislikes, and language barriers with non-Gujarati speaking carers, but we already see a positive difference. I would love all residents encouraged to have all their meals together and join daily activities. Birchwood Grange supports mums cultural and spiritual needs, helping her feel included and valued.
Thank you all for your care and professionalism.
Reply from Kerry Richards, General Manager at Birchwood Grange Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for your kind and thoughtful review.
We're delighted to hear Mum is beginning to settle in and that you feel reassured by the care she is receiving. Your lovely feedback about Hina, Edna, and the wider team will be shared with them, they will truly appreciate it.
Thank you also for your helpful suggestion regarding shared mealtimes and activities-we will certainly take this on board.
Its our privilege to care for Mum.

Beckenham Park Care Home - Avery Collection

from Julia D (Daughter of Resident) published on 22 April 2026

Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5
Unfortunately, my experience with this care home has been very concerning. Over the past three years there have been seven different managers, with an interim manager currently in place. This constant change in leadership has been extremely unsettling for both staff and residents and has resulted in
a noticeable lack of consistency in care.
Staffing levels have frequently been insufficient, putting pressure on existing staff and impacting the quality of care provided. I was also deeply troubled to learn that staff have reportedly been told that if they raise concerns with residents' families, they could face disciplinary action. This creates a culture where issues are not openly addressed and families are not kept properly informed.
Due to the concerns for my mother's Health and Welfare, the Council Social Services recommended i remove my mother from the home which i have now done. i cannot recommend this home due to ongoing concerns surrounding care and the failure of management.
Reply from Joe Maxwell, Home Manager at Beckenham Park Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you for sharing your feedback. We are very sorry to read about your experience and the concerns you have raised regarding your mothers care at Beckenham Park.

We take all feedback seriously, particularly where it relates to care quality, communication and the experience of residents and their families. The points you have raised have been reviewed and addressed in detail through our formal complaints process.

We recognise how important it is that families feel listened to, informed and confident in the care being provided, and we are sorry that this was not your experience. Where concerns are identified, we use them as an opportunity to strengthen our approach and ensure improvements are embedded and sustained.

My mum has stayed at Wimbledon Common Care Home a few times for respite care and more recently as a short term resident. She is in her 80s and only speaks Portuguese, fortunately there are a few members of staff which speak the language so it was a relieve when I needed to leave my mum , that she could
communicate with members of the team and would not feel isolated.

The facilities and care / support staff at the home are excellent. The team are always so welcoming and kind to my mum and a lot of the staff remember her name from previous stays, which immediately makes her feel relaxed and happy when she starts her stay. I always ask my mum whether she's enjoying herself and whether she being cared for, she always says yes. Actually, when I collected her on her last stay in March, she wanted to know when she would be coming back. I always feel my mum is in good hands when she stays at Wimbledon, and it would always be my first choice for my mum when I need a care home for her.

Reply from Gloria Olajuyigbe, Client Liaison Manager at Wimbledon Common Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you so much for your kind review. We're delighted to hear that your mum feels happy, comfortable, and well cared for during her stays with us.

It's especially lovely to know that being able to communicate in Portuguese has helped her feel more at ease, and that our team has made such a positive impression.

We truly appreciate your continued trust and look forward to welcoming your mum back again soon.

After living on her own for almost 30 years in Hertfordshire, my mum's health rapidly deteriorated in the last few months of 2025. She felt isolated and alone. We suspected that she was showing signs of dementia, which was subsequently confirmed via a formal assessment at a memory clinic.
We moved
my mum into Hampstead Court in February as it is close to where my wife and I live and therefore far easier for us to visit. She initially moved in on a 2 week trial to ensure she was comfortable there, which we then extended to 4 weeks. We have since made the move a permanent one.
My mum is much happier. She loves her room and its en-suite bathroom, and has made new friends (even if she doesn't always remember their names). The staff are all very kind and treat her with dignity.
Reply from Helene Cross, General Manager at Hampstead Court Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you Darren for such a heart felt review. It is genuinely our pleasure to have your wonderful mother living with us. She is a simply lovely lady who is embracing living at Hampstead Court . We are here to help and support at all times.

Everyone took such care to make her feel comfortable and meet her needs. She enjoyed the company and the activities (particularly the daily arm chair exercises)
