Hampstead Court Care Home - Avery Collection

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
After living on her own for almost 30 years in Hertfordshire, my mum's health rapidly deteriorated in the last few months of 2025. She felt isolated and alone. We suspected that she was showing signs of dementia, which was subsequently confirmed via a formal assessment at a memory clinic.
We moved
my mum into Hampstead Court in February as it is close to where my wife and I live and therefore far easier for us to visit. She initially moved in on a 2 week trial to ensure she was comfortable there, which we then extended to 4 weeks. We have since made the move a permanent one.
My mum is much happier. She loves her room and its en-suite bathroom, and has made new friends (even if she doesn't always remember their names). The staff are all very kind and treat her with dignity.
Reply from Helene Cross, General Manager at Hampstead Court Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you Darren for such a heart felt review. It is genuinely our pleasure to have your wonderful mother living with us. She is a simply lovely lady who is embracing living at Hampstead Court . We are here to help and support at all times.

Mum really enjoyed her stay! It was daunting for her to leave home for respite but the staff were so kind and welcoming, she really flourished. Everyone took such care to make her feel comfortable and meet her needs. She enjoyed the company and the activities (particularly the daily arm chair exercises)
which did her the world of good. She'll be back for sure. Thank you team!
Reply from Gloria Olajuyigbe, Client Liaison Manager at Wimbledon Common Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you so much for your lovely review.

My friend of 50+ years lost her husband last year, June; she was diagnosed with dementia approx 5 years ago. She had become very low, living in her beautiful house with her daughter, she was then introduced to Frognal House.
Well, what a difference this has made. She is now so happy, joins in with
everything, there are lots of things to join in with and settled. Frognal, thank you for all the care you give her.

On my initial show round I was pleasantly surprised, however when I went in for several weeks respite care a few days later the reality turned out to be totally different. I was not informed at the outset that major refurbishment works would be taking place and the upheaval this would have on residents
and staff alike and this continued for the entire length of my stay. Carers and house keeping staff were excellent. Fine Dining as advertised in the brochure it definitely was not. For what I paid I felt I should have been offered a refund. Very disappointing and definitely would not recommend.
Reply from Heather Clayton, Client Liaison Manager at Frognal House Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for providing both positive and constructive comments about your experience at Frognal House Care Home.
We are pleased to hear that you found our care, housekeeping, and staff to be excellent, and we appreciate you recognising these aspects of our service.
We are very sorry, however, that your respite stay did not meet your expectations overall. Frognal House has been undergoing a programme of refurbishment over the past year as part of our commitment to improving the environment and facilities for residents. We recognise and accept that the extent and potential impact of these works were not made sufficiently clear during your initial show round. We understand how this would have affected your experience and may have led to disappointment once the refurbishment works became clearer during your stay.
Your comments regarding dining arrangements and value for money have been noted, and we take this feedback seriously.

It took a wee while for mum to settle but she was treated with patience and kindness and compassion. Eventually she started to thrive, put on weight and show genuine signs of happiness which I hadn't seen for some time. To all the staff on the 4th floor thank you for your love and care and thank you
too to Helene, Abi and Anthony for making a very difficult time much more easy. Knowing mum was safe, warm and well fed was such a comfort.
Reply from Helene Cross, General Manager at Hampstead Court Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you Ali for your very kind words and I am happy to hear that you and your mother had a positive experience whilst here at Hampstead Court . Wandsworth Common Care Home - Avery Collection

from Peter S (Nephew of Resident) published on 16 December 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My aunt was becoming unable to look after herself at her house so my wife searched for a suitable care home. She found the Wandsworth Common Care Home (WCCH) and after a visit we were sure that this would be ideal for my aunt. It was unlike any other care home we had ever been in - more like an upmarket
hotel.
My aunt was not sure she was ready for a care home but after a further fall, and the offer of a month's trial she said yes. I have photographs of her on the day she arrived - still anxious from her previous life - and then 10 days later, totally relaxed and happy. She spent 9 glorious months in her beautiful apartment, but unfortunately, she had a severe stroke, and after spending time in hospital she was able to return to WCCH but she sadly passed away one week later.
What makes WCCH different is the beautiful environment but especially the staff who go above and beyond on so many occasions. They became a family to Joyce we always knew she was happy and well looked after.
Reply from William Burke, CLM at Wandsworth Common Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you so much for your kind words. It was an honour to care for your aunt. I will pass the wonderful feedback on to the team here who work tirelessly to provide exceptional care to all of our residents

This was the first time I had visited my sister, who had recently become a resident. I was impressed immediately with the friendly atmosphere at reception and in the coffee area, where the facilities were great and my sister seemed relaxed and at ease. Then the staff offered a really friendly chat explaining
what activities were on offer. I also noticed that in the short time my sister had been there, they had got to know quite a lot about her and asked me and my brother in law if we would let them have some photos (for a memory book) - all in all, a very positive visit.
