Mum went into Acorn Lodge at the beginning of October 2025 with dementia, mum sadly passed away the beginning of February from pneumonia. Last few months of mums life was spent in comfort and support at Acorn Lodge. I visit a lot of care homes because of the nature of my job ( service & repair engineer
mobility equipment). ACORN LODGE IS A TOP TIER CARE HOME I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Many thanks to the staff and manager x

Scholars Mews has been such a great home for my mum. She is happy there and we are so grateful to the wonderful carers who all have a real depth of warmth and dedication. My mum's abilities are now limited but despite this the activities team create experiences for her to enjoy. I actually couldn't
imagine a better environment for her. It's a happy place. I love that they go to the effort of decorating to the hilt for Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's Day etc! It puts a smile on everyone's faces.
Reply from Louise Martin, General Manager at Scholars Mews Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you Wendy for a heartfelt review, The team love to hear great comments. Glad Mum is happy. We enjoy support her

My mum has been a resident since November 25 and receives the most amazing care.
The staff are kind, compassionate and respectful and never pass her room without waving and talking to her.
Her physical needs are fully met and the well being team provide a wide variety of activities
Family are updated
and included in the activities which include many special occasions.
Meals are nutritious and appealing and clients can make special requests.
My family and my mum cannot praise Scholars Mews any more highly and we are so pleased she is so happy, content and well cared for.

My partner has had three 2-week respite stays at Scholars Mews. This has been a very positive experience for my partner and myself. Staff are friendly, warm and welcoming. I am particularly impressed how warmly they greet him back each time he returns. He always looks well cared for and happy to be
there. He has previously had one period in respite care in a more expensive facility, where the care he received was inferior.

Butler's Mews is an amazing place full of fun and love. They care for my mum so brilliantly. Everyone knows her by name, even the cleaning staff and reception staff, and they stop to greet her and give her some attention whenever they see her. The entertainment is varied and engaging and my mum seems
genuinely happy to live there, despite having dementia and having to be away from her family. This is so reassuring for her family and we feel welcomed and valued whenever we visit too. I couldn't be happier with the service provided.

I can't fault the care my relative with dementia receives at Scholars Mews.
The staff always greet me with a smile and a wave and find the time for a quick update if requested and they treat the residents like they are family.
The rooms and public areas are bright, clean and tidy.
The food is
good and the activities schedule is packed.

As a family we can not fault the care which Mum receives from the staff at Scholars Mews.
If you are looking for a care home for your loved one this is the one to choose. It can be very stressful to hand over care of your loved one to a some one else. All the staff make you feel very welcome and you
can visit whenever you want to. The staff are very caring to Mum and all of us, her family. They have time to talk to you if you have any concerns. Every aspect of care is dealt with in a very caring manner. The rooms are very home-from-home. Nothing is too much trouble. There are plenty of activities to take part in, if able. The meals a lovely and varied. Complimentary coffee & cake available for visitors are a lovely gesture which makes it feel like home. I would recommend Scholars Mews to anyone.
Reply from Louise Martin, General Manager at Scholars Mews Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you so much for your really lovely review. This really inspires the team to give great person centred care. We love looking after your Mother, she is a treasure. Kind regards Louise

I can't speak highly enough about Butlers Mews Care Home. My mother has now been here 18 months and during that time I have witnessed the amazing care and compassion shown by all of the staff from the cleaners to care staff to management. Butlers Mews is immaculately clean, friendly and fun for residents

Very pleased with extremely caring staff. I always get a warm welcome to. The staff are very caring to 'Jim' because he always cries when I leave him - Rea in particular - soon calms him down
It has been such a relief to me after being Jims carer for three years.
It is a relief to let the reins go,
although I had tremendous guilt, staff reassured me.

This care home would be difficult to better. The staff are so welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. My mum is very happy with the care she receives and praises the staff and loves the food. I never announce my visits, I just pop in when I can, and I'm always made welcome, in fact I feel more like
one of a big happy family. I would recommend Scholars Mews to anyone and would be glad to move in myself.

Before I asked Avery to care for my father I surveyed and assessed many other facilities., before making a final decision.
I have a very high regard for this facility where my Father is being cared for. The staff are all amazing in every way expected. The atmosphere is both friendly and efficient on
all matters . I can compliment the care home enough or the sraff whiuch is acredit to the the Management approach for five star treatment.
Kind regards

My mother in-law has been a resident at Butlers Mews for almost 2 months.
Myself and other members of the family are very impressed. Mum has also expressed how happy she is which makes us happy!
The staff are excellent, hard-working, kind, compassionate, professional with attention to detail. Nothing
seems too much for them. It's a charming, comfortable room with an ensuite bathroom. The variety and quality of food has been excellent.
I would recommend the home to anyone looking for help with their loved ones. Thank you Butlers Mews.
