The caseworkers at Scholars Mews are very accommodating, attentive, and caring towards my mother. The food I have seen served for dinner has always been top notch and highly nutritional. There are many activities that my mother gets involved with that are a good range of enriching experiences to keep her occupied.

My father has settled in well at the care home and has made new friends. The carers are all very friendly and kind. They have listened to any requests and have been helpful in supporting my father with these. Everything is well organised and my father eats well and enjoys the food. He is trying out different activities but enjoys the singing and music the most.

Review of Scholars Mews Care Home - Avery Healthcare from Mary M (Friend of Resident) published on 18 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My friend had to move into a care home and her first experience was not good. She moved into Scholars Mews and it has taken her a little time settle especially after her previous experience. She is much happier and is interacting with both the staff and fellow residents and getting involved with daily activities, in particular quizzes in various forms and bingo. Most of time she feels listened to and the staff do everything they can to support her requirements. She is very happy when the same team of staff look after her, like most older people changes to routines and personnel upset her. Lauren, Keira and Lorena are some of her regular carers. As a visitor I am mostly welcomed and greeted by name which is lovely. I enjoy visiting the Scholars Mews especially for Sunday Lunch in the restaurant and the other social activities, Easter Fair and the upcoming Summer Fete. The food is good and the catering team listen to what the residents say and act on it.

My father in law settled very quickly into Scholars Mews. The staff are very professional, friendly and always welcoming when we visit.

Sylvie has been amazing and knows how to respond and get the best for my father in law. He transferred to Scholars from a different nursing home and the transformation was amazing. He is happier now, eats better and is generally more active. Definitely a better atmosphere and set up for his needs.

My mum is in this care home and I cannot fault the staff looking after her at all. Mum has dementia and they are all just so lovely to her, kind, friendly and caring. I was struggling with the idea of mum going into a home but the kindness of all the staff have made it all so much more easier. I truly would recommend this care home within a doubt

To the incredible team at Butlers Mews,
We want to express our deepest gratitude for the loving care you provided to my mother, Marion, in her last days. Knowing she was safe, comfortable, and in such gentle hands gave us total peace of mind.
A very special thank you goes to Shirley, Tracey, Kodie, Divya and Sam for going above and beyond to look after her so wonderfully.
We would particularly like to mention Kodie. She is only 18, but she showed a level of maturity, empathy, and respect while administering mouth care that was deeply comforting to see. She is an absolute credit to your team.
Thank you all for turning a painful journey into a peaceful one.
With warmest thanks,

Patsy and Patsy

I always receive a very pleasant welcome when I visit Scholars Mews which is so important. All of the staff are extremely helpful and nothing is too much bother. I am confident that my husband is well cared for and is contented living in the "home". Staff try their upmost to keep residents busy and occupied. Thank you to everyone!

Review of Scholars Mews Care Home - Avery Healthcare from Rachel C (Friend of Resident) published on 28 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

From the moment we chose Scholars Mews for my friend to the time she passed on we have been delighted with the care from all staff. It is like an extended family where everyone looks out for each other from staff to residents to relatives and friends. I visited my friend (who I was more a daughter to) 2 or 3 times a week and never once felt people were too busy to listen to me or to see to the needs of my friend. All aspects of the Home from laundry to choice of food to care from staff was always a high standard. The daily activities for residents were plenty and varied - never come across such dedication to this in other Homes. All very clean with great decor which is kept fresh and new. Walking in is a delight - a bit like a 5 star hotel but with the homeliness and friendliness everyone wishes for. Well done to all.

Michelle was so helpful facilitating a place for my Mother at very short notice. Nothing is too much trouble. The home is modern, airy and immaculate. My Mother's room is superb and she loved it from day one. The staff are very happy, compassionate and so accommodating. This is the best care home in Rugby by far!

I can't express how pleased I am with the care and friendliness of how my Mother has been looked after since arriving here.

All of the staff are there to help your loved ones settle in to their new home and routine. Nothing is to much for them, it certainly doesn't feel like a care home. They have different activities each week for all residents, from films in the cinema, to games, bingo, performers coming in and even some outings. I am hoping that all this kindness will help my mother feel like she has a new home, doesn't need to worry and feels safe. Thank you so much to all the staff who are doing a brilliant job.

Review of Butlers Mews Care Home - Avery Healthcare from Andrew V (Son of Resident) published on 22 April 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
Butlers Mews Care Home is a wonderful place. I have visited many other care homes and this is, by far, the best. I am particularly impressed by the feel of the place, the range of activities, the fascilities, the quality of meals and most of all, the staff.

Without exception, I have found all staff to be helpful, friendly and professional, this goes from top to bottom. The site manager is brilliant and has been invaluable during the move of my parents from their home to Butlers Mews. Highly recommended

Review of Acorn Lodge Care Home - Avery Healthcare from B H (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 April 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The staff at Acorn Lodge always provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment for the residents and visitors. The home is very well organised, always clean, tidy and staff have a caring and nurturing attitude to all the residents. They have helped my mother to settle in and feel at home, and happy, relaxed and confident. It is always reassuring to see photos of my mother taking part in the many activities that are provided. It is also reassuring for us as a family to know that Mum is being looked after and cared for in a way that we couldn't provide.

Overall Experience

Mum went into Acorn Lodge at the beginning of October 2025 with dementia, mum sadly passed away the beginning of February from pneumonia. Last few months of mums life was spent in comfort and support at Acorn Lodge. I visit a lot of care homes because of the nature of my job ( service & repair engineer mobility equipment). ACORN LODGE IS A TOP TIER CARE HOME I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Many thanks to the staff and manager x

Scholars Mews has been such a great home for my mum. She is happy there and we are so grateful to the wonderful carers who all have a real depth of warmth and dedication. My mum's abilities are now limited but despite this the activities team create experiences for her to enjoy. I actually couldn't imagine a better environment for her. It's a happy place. I love that they go to the effort of decorating to the hilt for Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's Day etc! It puts a smile on everyone's faces.

Family are updated and included in the activities which include many special occasions.

My partner has had three 2-week respite stays at Scholars Mews. This has been a very positive experience for my partner and myself. Staff are friendly, warm and welcoming. I am particularly impressed how warmly they greet him back each time he returns. He always looks well cared for and happy to be there. He has previously had one period in respite care in a more expensive facility, where the care he received was inferior.

Butler's Mews is an amazing place full of fun and love. They care for my mum so brilliantly. Everyone knows her by name, even the cleaning staff and reception staff, and they stop to greet her and give her some attention whenever they see her. The entertainment is varied and engaging and my mum seems genuinely happy to live there, despite having dementia and having to be away from her family. This is so reassuring for her family and we feel welcomed and valued whenever we visit too. I couldn't be happier with the service provided.
