After 3 happy years at Cliftonville Care Home, my beloved mother passed away at the end of December at the amazing age of 102 years old. I can honestly say that without exception, the care, support and love she received during that time has been second to none. And especially in the final few weeks
of her life when she was transferred to the Nursing department and her physical and emotional needs had increased. I cannot thank both the nursing and admin team enough for making her as comfortable and supported as possible and that extended to our family also. It made an absolutely unbearable time for us slightly more bearable and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Reply from Tomy Abraham, General Manager at Cliftonville Care Home - Avery HealthcareDear Jo,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review during an incredibly difficult time for you and your family. It was our privilege to care for your beloved mother over the past three years, and we feel honoured to have been part of her journey ,especially in her final weeks. Reaching 102 years is truly remarkable, and the love and dedication you and your family showed her was both inspiring and invaluable.
Your kind words about our nursing and our caring team mean a great deal to us. We are deeply committed to providing compassionate, person-centred care, and knowing that we were able to bring comfort not only to your mother but also to your family is incredibly meaningful.
Please accept our sincerest condolences once again. We hope you find comfort in your memories of her long and beautiful life. If there is anything you need or if we can support you in any way, we are here for you.

In May 2025 my mother moved into Spencer House when we as a family were looking for a home for mum it was a very difficult time for all of us, but as soon as we walked into the reception we knew that Spencer House was the place for mum, since moving in she has been very happy. The staff are amazing
and care for mum's every need. As a family we are very pleased and would recommend the home.

My mother and father in law moved to Spencer House initially for respite in the summer of 2025. It was evident very quickly that the care provided was personal centred, caring and kind.
Thier health, well-being and personal safety improved significantly. As well as personal care needs, cultural, spiritual
and overall well-being needs are explored.
Communication is excellent, as a family we have been included in every element of care and made to feel very welcome.
The whole staff team, provide inclusive and holistic care, enabling residents to feel "at home" and families to feel reassured.
Reply from Cheryl Jones, Home Manager at Spencer House Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for kind words and positive review of Spencer House Care Home. My mum and dad moved in to the care home earlier this year as they were no longer safe to be home alone. The staff treat not only them but all of us with kindness and understanding, everybodys needs and mental health with such a big change. My mum has been at Dukes Court for almost three years and she is very happy there. Many of the care staff have worked there for many years and mum has become very close to them. They are caring and compassionate and often go the extra mile to ensure the residents are happy and well cared for.
The
home is always clean and well presented and a credit to the cleaning staff who are also amazing.
There's always lots of activities going on which ensures residents are kept entertained and socialised. My mum's favourites are bingo, arts and crafts and film afternoon where they are treated to hot chocolate whilst watching their film of choice. They often have professional singers in to entertain everyone which is always very popular with both residents and staff.
I feel my mum is happy and safe at Dukes Court and as a daughter that is all I could wish for so THANK YOU.

My dad has been at dukes now for two and a half years after a terrible experience at another home. He settled straight away here and it's an amazing home with great support. Dads dementia has got worse but all the staff will work with dad and ensure he has amazing care and support where needed. The
activities are amazing and something on every day for them with trips out as well. Dad is so settled and the staff are like a family and they support me as well. The home is always clean and spotless and the residents are as well. All staff are so friendly and it is such a blessing to have dad here.

For over a decade I've taught financial advisers about long term care. I've written books on the subject - I know a bit about care. I say this because I hope it'll add something when I say that I wouldn't have my mum live anywhere other than Duke's Court now. The way the home is run, the staff who work
there, the care taken on the home environment and resident treatment is just brilliant.

From day one, when I was invited to go and look round at any time I knew this was a home proud of the care it gives. When the manager talks about this being a real 'home' for residents and it being like a family, I know she means it.

The rooms are clean and well maintained; residents are invited to really make themselves at home with their own belongings. Communal areas have recently been redecorated, though they were very nice before. Further work is ongoing and that's only going to improve it further. With their own chef, the food is great too! I'd advise anyone to consider Duke's Court.

Reply from Claire Keen, Home Manager at Dukes Court Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you so much for taking the time to write such a beautiful review, I say it all the time, I feel blessed to be the home manager for Dukes court and it really is a family here. My wife was accepted at Dukes Court 12th June 2025 as her dementia had reached a stage when I could not look after her anymore
I was, obviously, apprehensive but with no need
Dukes court is a lovely, homely, place where I feel 100% assured she is professionally but lovingly cared for
She has her
own room with en suite toilet/shower room
There is a welcoming lounge with regular activities and a dining room any hotel would be pleased with.

I would highly recommend Dukes Court

I have been coming to Ashhurst Mews Care Home almost every day for 22 months. In that time, I have not met any member of staff who has not given 100%. Everyone in any capacity, from the young girl who pushes the tea trolley very polite and well mannered to the laundry girls, support staff, cleaners,
this must be the cleanest building in Moulton. The carers who really do care, even when working long shifts, are still smiling. The girls on reception are very smart and business-like. As for the nursing team, they really are top and are a credit to their profession. As far as I can see, the home runs like a well-oiled machine, which i believe is down to the management team.
Reply from Rebecca Graham, Manager at Ashurst Mews Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you so much for your kind words. As the Manager of Ashhurst Mews, I'm incredibly proud of the whole team. Every member, from housekeeping and laundry to carers, reception, and nursing, plays a vital role, and your recognition means the world to us. It's heartening to know our efforts have made a positive impact and that our home feels welcoming, clean, and well-run. Your message has been shared with the team and has truly lifted everyone's spirits. Thank you again for your ongoing support, it's very much appreciated

Having no experience of what to expect from a care home I am pleasantly surprised how good Seagrove House is. Management team have supported my mum and the family all through the process of Mum being discharged from hospital needing 24 hour care. This has been an extremely emotional time for us and
without the support we have received we would not have known what to do. Care team staff members are brilliant with Mum's needs on a day to day basis and we could not ask for more. Communication around Mum's needs is always passed on in a timely manner. So for my experience is nothing but exceptional long may it continue.

Mum has only been here a short time but I am very happy with the care Mum gets. Mum settled very quickly and the staff are amazing, they treat mum like family and are always ready to listen to us as a family about what Mum likes and dislikes can only thank them all.

Glenmoor House Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Avoid the dementia floor. Dad spent 6 months here, then was suddenly evicted whilst in hospital. The care he receives elsewhere has put Glenmoor's care in sharper perspective - dreadful.
When evicted, we had 3 live safeguarding issues in place with a social worker (which disappear once evicted). He
fell out of bed multiple times (incl hospitalisation) and it took 5 months & endless emails and meetings for adequate bed safety to be put into place.
In summary, management highly ineffective, fluid management non-existent -Dad's regular blood tests constantly showed dehydration despite us visiting daily to assist, we heard staff talk inappropriately (angry/cruel) to Dad several times, waiting times for basic care like changing a pad or transferring when uncomfortable were too long - often 45 mins, understaffed, poor food.
Some nice staff (Ents/Reception), public area looks great, but poor care & culture from snr mgt down. We know 2 other families with similar experience. MP & CQC aware

Since being brought to Seagrave, mum has settled in extremely well. The staff in all areas of the home are brilliant, taking their time to make mum feel valued, cared for and loved. They go above and beyond in the care they provide and encourage her to participate in activities and join in at meal times.
When she feels under the weather, staff act quickly to look after her and get medical help if needed. Fantastic place, well done and many thanks to everyone.
