I highly recommend Sonning Gardens Care Home. My aunt stayed there for respite care and absolutely loved her time. From our very first visit, the client liaison manager was incredibly helpful and accommodating, even at short notice. She was an absolute pleasure to deal with.
The care my aunt received
was exceptional. Every carer we encountered was genuinely kind, attentive, and compassionate. A special thanks to one of the staff members, who was a true gem, she kept me updated on everything and went above and beyond to meet my aunt's dietary needs.
Having visited many care homes, I can confidently say that Sonning Gardens stands out. The entire team clearly cares deeply for the residents. The home is clean and both staff and residents appear genuinely happy. It's one of the best I've seen. Thank you again to everyone at Sonning Gardens, truly appreciate everything.

My Mother moved to Astbury Manor three years ago. In that time she has made many new friends with other residents and staff.
The care provided is first class not only to my mum but also myself.
Everyone from front of house to the lovely hairdresser have time to chat and make you feel part of a big
family.
The activities team are great at offering a selection of activities to keep everyone happy, from trips out to art and crafts.
Thank-you to everyone that keeps my mum happy and safe at Astbury Manor.
Reply from Evelyn Repkovas, Home Manager at Astbury Manor Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Mum joined the home at the beginning of August and has decided to stay. It was a big decision for us to make as a family and Mum was understandably initially unsettled. However, with lots of support from ALL the staff in every capacity throughout the home, Mum has settled well, feels 'at home' and is
enjoying the company, the amazing food, the activities and of course the lovely staff, who are always cheerful, smiling, helpful and reassuring.
We didn't know if this would work, but so far so good, so thanks to everyone.
Reply from Evelyn Repkovas, Home Manager at Astbury Manor Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We know how big a decision this was for your family, and we're delighted to hear your mum has settled in and now feels at home with us. It's wonderful to know she's enjoying the food, activities, and especially the company of our cheerful team. We'll make sure to share your kind words with everyone here-it will mean so much to them. We look forward to making many more happy memories together with your mum.

A wonderful place with wonderful caring staff. Food is lovely and tasty. Rooms clean and well equipped. Only slight issue is that understandably staff cannot come instantly (mum used to 1-2-1 care) so found it a little difficult. Overall I can see myself here when I need help.

We first visited Sonning Gardens Care Home when my mother had been admitted to hospital after a fall at home. Her dementia was progressing and, as a family, we knew she could no longer live safely at home. We initially arranged a respite stay, but after a week knew this was a perfect setting for her.
She celebrated her 90th birthday whilst in Sonning Gardens and enjoyed seven months of being fully cared for. We found the staff to be welcoming, attentive and my mother always spoke of their kindness. She has a beautiful room, but spent most time in the comfortable lounge area. My mother had been a keen cook and, on our visits, we enjoyed discussing the delicious menu of the day. We are grateful to all the staff for their care and sensitivity. Sonning Gardens gave my mother, at the end of her life, the care she deserved and gave us, as a family, peace of mind.

It means a great deal to know that you appreciated the kindness and sensitivity shown by the team, as well as the comfort of her room and quality of the meals. We believe that everyone deserves to feel valued, respected and at home, and it's wonderful to hear that reflected in your experience. Your thanks have been shared with the team, who were all so glad to have been part of your mother's care. It was a privilege to look after her, and we are grateful for the trust you placed in us.

My husband has had respite breaks at Ascot Grange during 2024/25. On this latest stay, staff greeted us in a very friendly manner, remembering his name and making us feel welcome. His room was spacious and spotless with snacks provided, plus juices, tea and coffee in the kitchenette space which has
been in all his rooms. Staff checked in on all his requirements, offered us a delicious lunch and help unloading all his belongings.

My Mum thoroughly enjoyed her stay at Sonning Gardens-so l just had to write this review. This was her first time being away from home and you have given her the confidence in knowing that home from home environments such as yours are nothing to fear. She really enjoyed participating in the wonderful
activity program- not Something she would normally participate in -such a shame you do not offer this on a book-in drop-in basis for respite returners. She thoroughly enjoyed the varied and comprehensive menu, nothing was too much trouble she was even provided with a pack lunch on chemo appointments at the hospital. we have nothing but good things to say about everyone + everything + would not hesitate to recommend.

There is always a pleasant ambience when entering this home. The bistro is well paced, as is the restaurant. My stepmother's room was large and airy and there was ample room in the private bathroom for her needs. On a less positive side, I did have to ask for the bathroom to be deep-cleaned on one occasion
as it was clearly a health hazard. The food was not up to scratch for such an expensive care home; this is not acceptable and should be addressed more seriously.

I spent a month at Sonning Gardens for respite care following a very bad relapse with MS. I was extremely tired and a little bit broken and Sonning Gardens rebuilt me. I was the youngest resident by at least 20 years but the level of care I received was amazing. Every carer was kind, considerate and
made me feel special. The manager of the home was great fun and kept an eye on me and would come for a chat. The food was excellent and I could always ask for bigger portions.
If I had a relative that needed care I would feel 100% confident that this is where I'd want them to be. Do go and look around it, its a wonderful place.

Sonning Gardens is spectacular. If you are looking for a place that's comfortable, safe, caring, respectful, pleasant, loving and somewhere that is not only beautiful to live in and visit, then Sonning Gardens is the high standard.
The team who work there are phenomenal, they make it their duty to

My dad came to Astbury Manor Care Home in December 2024. We are very pleased with the care and support he receives. Dad loves the food which from what we have seen is excellent.
