My mother has now been a resident at Greenholme for around 2 months. It was a struggle to persuade her to move from her home but within a week she was totally settled and is now very happy and her health and wellbeing has improved dramatically. The best thing about the home is the staff, they go above
and beyond to make the residents feel welcome by really getting to know them individually so that they can tailor the care and activities to their personal needs and interests. It is a very friendly and welcoming environment and it is a pleasure to visit.
Reply from Alison McPhail, Client Liaison Manager at Greenholme House Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to leave such a kind and thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that your mother has settled so well and that her health and wellbeing have improved during her time with us.

We understand how difficult the transition into care can be, so it is especially rewarding to know that she now feels happy, comfortable, and at home at Greenholme. Your comments about our staff truly mean a great deal to us. Our team is passionate about getting to know each resident as an individual and providing personalised care and activities that support their needs, interests, and independence.

It is also lovely to hear that you find Greenholme House a friendly and welcoming place to visit. Thank you again for your trust and for sharing your experience - your feedback is greatly appreciated by the whole team.

Aire View Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Overall Experience 3.0 out of 5
(1) I have used this care home 3 times, each time I requested that they book my wife for an appointment and one for a chiropodist! Neither were ever done !!!
(2) The entrance door was broken for weeks, which is unfortunate, but leaving it unlocked & unsupervised 24 hours a day is not acceptable considering
the nature of the building.
(3) On leaving the home on one occasion I was handed my wife's medication box which had pills left in the box which should have been taken !!! On another occasion when I was leaving the home, they lost the medication box !!!! I had to go back later in the day to collect it after they found it. This meant my wife had not been given her correct medication as & when it was prescribed !!!
(4) On several occasions I had to put the waste bin in the corridor as it had remained unemptied for several days & contained uneaten fruit.
(5) I supplied the home with about 100 D.V.D.s (I do voluntary work for a hospice & they send all D.V.D.s to land fill !!! ) yet each room had D.V. D. players which did not work!
(6) On one occasion when my wife moved in, there were no coat hangers! So I offered to supply them free of charge (the hospice again) I was told that your laundry company supplied them free of charge so they were not needed. (They thanked me) Next time I check the Wardrobe it had over 50 coat hangers inside. Childish to say the least!
(7) As a retired heating engineer I could not help but notice when I was leaving one day, (It was summer) that some 80 % of the windows were open (The rooms were too hot!) This is a great way to waste huge amounts of money !!! The heating should have the room temperature turned down to 18 degrees overnight, saving money and making it more comfortable for the occupants!
(8) I keep getting repeated emails requesting me to pay the fee's that are outstanding, firstly I paid all the fee's before my wife moved in! Secondly the emails are "No reply" so how am I expected to resolve this?
Reply from Jamie Holmes, General Manager at Aire View Care Home - Avery HealthcareHi, thank you for your review. We take all reviews seriously & value all feedback. I am sorry if we have not met expectations on the 3 separate stays. I can confirm that your wife did see the Chiropodist & the Hairdresser on the following dates - Chiropodist 24/10/25 & 05/12/25. Hairdresser - 29/12/25 & 03/12/25. This is why you have received the no reply emails, these are in relation to the outstanding invoices for these services, not for care fees.
Unfortunately, the entrance doors were broke for a period of time, we had to obtain parts from a special supplier out of the country. Reception is manned from 8am till 5.30pm. Outside of those times, the doors remained locked.
We supplied coat hangers as per your request, I can only apologise if we placed too many in the wardrobe.
The heating is set at a temperature suitable for the residents in the home given they feel the cold more, the windows are opened at intervals to circulate fresh air into the home.
Best wishes, take care.

Such a gorgeous care home. A real community feel and the team clearly love what they do! I take my little therapy dog to visit and it is wonderful to see the range of activities the residents are involved with. A true sense of warmth the minute you walk through the doors. The staff clearly love being
there which is rare these days!

My dad has been a resident at Aire view for around 7 months, we did have some initial worries but I am now very happy with the care provided to my dad, the activities in the home are great and I enjoy seeing all the photos on social media. There have been a lot of changes over the past few months but
these have only improved the experience at Aire view. The staff seem a lot more settled and happy. The newly appointed manager is friendly and helpful, he always has a smile and listens to our concerns and keeps us as a family updated. It is very evident that changes are going in the right direction.
The only criticism I would make would be the consistency in my dad's room being tidy, some days his wardrobes are untidy and I have to put his clothes back neatly. The home would benefit from some more modern furniture as some table and chairs are a bit worn.
Thank you for looking after my dad.

Grove Park Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Our 96 year old mother stayed at Grove Park for 5 weeks of respite care following a decline in her health and the need for 24 hour care and support. Having lived independently for 10 years since our father's passing all the staff helped with her transition to her new surroundings with care and sensitivity.
Mum was encouraged to join in with activities and mix with other residents while at the same time respecting her need to have personal time to herself which really helped her adjust to her new environment. The same flexible approach was offered to mum at meal times where she chose between eating in the dining room or in her room. Mum was made to feel very welcome from day one as were family members when visiting.
Reply from Lisa Turnbull, Home Manager at Grove Park Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you so much for sharing your feedback of the care home in this review of our respite care. The team will be delighted with this feedback, we value all feedback about the services provided and this will be shared with the team. The team work exceptionally hard to deliver and maintain a quality service with care that is resident led and holds our core values. We very much enjoyed having your mum as part of our care community, we hope mum returns to enjoy the home again and we look forward to welcoming you all on your next visit.

My Mum had 6 weeks of Respite care at Greenholme House recently. It's a beautiful residence with such caring Staff throughout. This was not only the care my mum received, but as regular visitors my Brother and I were made so welcome. The thought of my Mum going into a Care Home, albeit just for respite,
really upset us both. But we need not have worried at all. This was a lovely experience for all of us and I know that the success of Mum's recovery after her major operation, is due in no small part to her stay.

My mum has been a resident for just over a year. In that time she has thrived, she has gained the weight she lost when in hospital and regularly tells me what a lovely home she has. Her room overlooks woodland and we watch the foxes, squirrels and birds from her window. The staff are excellent, so caring.
They smile even when under pressure. True professionals. I couldn't ask for a better home for my mum. My thanks to all the staff.

Grove Park is an excellent residential and care home. The facilities are all first class and the staff are brilliant. My mother had three enjoyable years there before moving to a different home much closer to me, and would not have moved had geography not been a problem. However, had I been closer and
able to visit more frequently I would have pushed for more opportunities for my mother to have trips out from the home, for more opportunities to connect with churches, and for more frequent care reviews, all of which were mentioned at the beginning of her stay.
