‘I joined Avery in May 2026 as the General Manager at Greenholme House Care Home.
I began working in the support sector in 2000 and began my management journey in 2008.
I have worked with adults and young people with various support needs, from high-risk offenders to Learning Disabilities, Domestic Abuse to Dementia, but have been focused on working with older people for the last 6 years.
I was attracted to joining Avery as their values and ‘people first’ attitude strongly align with my own.
I am passionate about ensuring that the people I work with are supported to live their lives to the fullest with as much joy as possible and empowering staff to have the skills to provide this for them.’
I joined the Greenholme House team as Deputy Manager in February 2026.
I have enjoyed a long career in adult health and social care, including supporting adults with advanced mental health needs, people living with autism, and as a team leader in residential care settings.
I have brought a positive attitude and mindset towards my role as Deputy Manager and aim to create a culture within the home that promotes open communication, positive mental attitudes and compassion towards those we support.
I joined Avery in August 2025 as the home administrator at Greenholme House.
My working life has been in customer service/hospitality, and for the last 13 years, I have been an administrator within the care sector. I have worked all over the UK and for several high-profile companies, so I can draw on my experience to deal with whatever situation arises.
I enjoy my job because each day can bring new challenges and can be so different from the day before. My passion is making sure that customer satisfaction is at the heart of everything I do.
Louise began her career as an apprentice chef in the armed forces 32 years ago, where she qualified as a chef at the Army School of Catering. She went on to be posted to a military hospital, and that is where her interest in nutrition and catering for care and wellbeing began. She has gained qualifications in nutrition, dysphasia and modified diets.
Louise believes that catering within the care sector has far wider-reaching benefits than nutrition alone. Dining and food are such an important part of life; she believes that this should not stop when a person enters a care environment. She loves to make high-quality restaurant-style meals, which not only meet the individual needs of residents and family members but also allow family links to be maintained and build social links and friendships. This is enriching for the residents and staff within the home. She feels very lucky to have such a beautiful home and lovely dining facilities at Greenholme Care Home to work with.
In 2023, Louise was a finalist at the Care Awards North region and in 2024, she was a National finalist in the NACC Care Chef of the Year and Finalist in the Danforth Care Chef of the Year, and she was the Winner of the NACC Care Chef of the Year 2025. She is excited for many more competitions in 2026
In her spare time. Louise loves to bake and has a passion for making fresh pasta. She has 3 dogs and enjoys 'bagging' Wainrights in the Lake District with her husband, Rich.

She has a genuine passion for working with people and excels in supporting individuals and families through every stage of their journey. Whether you are calling for initial information, visiting for a show-around, or arranging an admission, Alison will be there to guide you from start to finish.
Known for her friendly, supportive approach, Alison is dedicated to making each interaction warm, reassuring, and informative. She takes pride in problem-solving, clear communication, and creating a positive experience for everyone who reaches out to the home.
Outside of work, Alison enjoys spending quality time with her family, walking her dog, and riding across the beautiful moor.
