All of the staff are caring, compassionate, friendly, and approachable, and nothing ever seems too much trouble. We are always greeted with a warm smile whenever we visit, and communication is excellent, keeping us well informed about our mum's health and wellbeing.

The home itself is clean, modern,

and welcoming, while still maintaining a homely atmosphere. The dementia unit feels very safe and secure, giving us real peace of mind.

The food is of a high standard, nutritious, and varied, with alternatives always available to suit residents' individual tastes and preferences. There is also a wide range of facilities and activities, with staff making every effort to ensure they are inclusive for all residents.

After being transferred from hospital six weeks ago in a very poor condition, our mum now seems to be thriving at Elton House and is very happy there.

We feel truly reassured knowing she is being so well cared for.

Thank you Nadia and all the team!

Chorleywood Manor Care Home - Avery Collection

from Kirsty P (Friend of Resident) published on 4 June 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother-in-law was a very contented resident here so when a family friend needed to move from living alone, this was my first choice. Having toured most of the care homes in the area, we felt that Chorleywood Manor offered an excellent balance of dignified independent living alongside help with tasks
and reassurance where necessary. The staff body is consistently kind and offer high quality care and, importantly, there is low turnover so there are always familiar faces around. The manager, Fiona, is responsive to individual needs and the lady, Tracy, who first met us and arranged the settling in went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Finally cleanliness and food quality is high. This alongside the extremely well-behaved, occasionally-seen resident dog means Chorleywood Manor felt very quickly like home, thank you.
Reply from Tracy Moore, Client Liaison Manager at Chorleywood Manor Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you so much for such a wonderful review. Once again thank you.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum walked in with natural trepidation on 28/4 after 68 years in her own home. The team met her on arrival, showed her to her suite where a wonderful gift basket was waiting for her.
They then showed her to her reserved dining table and she was HOME.
No longer nervous of climbing stair, waiting
for food deliveries, washing, house care and responsibilities.

SHE WAS HOME AND SAFE!!!

Cate, Stevie and the team welcomed her with open arms, warmth and kindness. A weight of her mind and ours.
From day one she was a person, greeted with dignity and made to feel so so welcome.

We as her family are so grateful that the first few hours were not intimidating, frightening and alone. She as a resident is so so HAPPY and that is job done.
The manner in which she was welcomed has continued and escalated every day since she walked in two weeks ago.

It is everything we as her family and she as the recipient of care could have dreamed of

Thank you Cate, Stevie and all of the team

Reply from Stevie Pugsley, Director of Community Relations at Elstree View Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you so much for your heartfelt review. Your kind words truly mean so much to all of us.
We understand what a huge step this was for your mum after 68 years in her own home, so knowing she felt welcomed, comfortable, and safe from the moment she arrived is incredibly special to hear. Creating a warm and supportive environment where residents truly feel at home is exactly what we hope to achieve every day.
Kate, Stevie, and the entire team will be so touched by your comments. It has been a pleasure getting to know your mum and seeing her settle in so happily over these first few weeks.
Thank you again for placing your trust in us and for taking the time to share your experience. Your support and appreciation mean the world to the whole team.

Mum has been at Chorleywood Manor in the Reminiscence community since the end of November 2025, and has settled in really well.
She is happy, has put on some much needed weight and it's such a relief knowing she is safely cared for.
All the team are amazing and nothing is ever a problem for them, you
can see they all care about the residents.
The activities schedule is varied, with excellent singers etc coming in to entertain, the activities staff are dedicated and always look to be having as much fun as the residents.
I would have no hesitation recommending the home. Best thing we have done for Mum and now she is more local for me to visit I get to see her far more frequently than when she was in her own house a distance away.

"We didn't end up using Elton House in the end, as my grandmother's condition changed, but I still wanted to leave a review because the staff were so attentive, understanding and patient throughout. The facilities are excellent, of course, but it was really the kindness and care of the staff that

My husband was at Elton house for a year and half and I have only very positive things to say about his time there.
He really enjoyed the many activities, from chair exercises to the music & entertainment.
All occasions were celebrated so thoughtfully, from Chinese New Year and all the Jewish festivals
to Christmas, which made a difference.

In the last two weeks of his life, the nursing care he received was truly exceptional. Not every care home has nursing , and without it he would have had to go into hospital. Instead, he was able to pass away peacefully in a place familiar to him with care and kindness.
I am very grateful to all the staff for everything they did for him. Many thanks.

Reply from Jenny Bloomberg, Client Liason Manager at Elton House Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you so much for sharing your wonderful feedback and taking the time to write a review for us.
It means a great deal to know that your husband found such enjoyment in the activities here and that you felt the team created a warm, inclusive environment by celebrating so many different occasions. Those moments can make a real difference, and it's clear they brought him comfort and happiness.
We're extremely grateful for the comments you shared about his final weeks. Knowing he was able to remain in a familiar place, surrounded by compassionate care and dignity, is something truly special. Your comments are a powerful reminder of how important that kind of support is, not just for residents but for their loved ones too. He is missed by us all. Please do keep in touch, love to the family. Jenny

My mother is 96 years old. She has lived alone since my father died at 58. .. My mother has had two falls and her confidence went. on Monday I realised either I moved in with her or get her respite in the care home. . I walked into the home. I was greeted by Stevie and the most loveliest receptionist
nurses and carers. I watched just for five minutes how much care and attention they were giving all the residents there.
After a wonderful meeting and a view of the care home I went to my mother and said you would get great respite Care here. Two days later she arrived. I watched the care, love and respect every person who worked there gave my mother the following morning when I went to visit her again she said I'm never leaving here. She has been there for three days and I have never seen her so happy and full of life. she can't wait to tell my brother and sister and I what a great day she's had. I met so many wonderful residence and already made many friends Thank you so much

Elstree View - my mum. The building and comfortable furniture make it feel homely and inviting and the decor and fitments are so well thought out it is a pleasure to visit my mum. She settled quickly as everyone is so friendly and has a lovely room with a kitchenette and a lovely bathroom with a walk
in shower. The carers are all wonderful and so friendly, caring and obliging. She is enjoying going to some form of chair keep fit every morning and we can see it has already helped her mobility and walking. She will love being outside in the summer in the lovely gardens with a fantastic view of London. There's a great coffee lounge with drinks and snacks available all day, called The Bistro and with the friends she has made she can sit and chat whereas before at home alone she was lonely and bored. She loves the musical entertainment they regularly have and other interesting activities. I can relax knowing she is so well looked after day and night. She is so much happier.
