My name is Bindu and I am the Home Deputy Manager here at Ashurst Mews, my role is to oversee the home runs smoothly in the Home Manager's absence. I oversee the Nursing Team and support all of the team to provide Person-Centred care and that all resident's needs are met.
I started my career as a Qualified Nurse back home in India. I moved to the UK for a higher study in Nursing, graduating BSC Hons from the University of Bedfordshire. I started my career as a Home Carer, was promoted to Senior, Team Leader and then was given the opportunity to become an Advanced Care Practitioner for nursing care. I was encouraged and promoted to Deputy Manager, I have been working at Ashurst Mews for 12 years now.
I am proud to be a part of the wonderful caring Ashurst Team, I am very compassionate, dedicated and committed to my team, residents and families.
Hello, I'm Keeley and I work in the kitchen at Ashurst Mews as Head Chef.
I have actually worked for Avery for 13 years, working in 4 different homes during this time, but I have settled and found my future here at Ashurst Mews where I have now been for 6 years.
Part of my role is to come up with different meals that are both healthy, nutritious and tasty. I tailor the meals to the individual needs and dietary requirements of each resident within the home and make these meals look inviting and the menus appealing.
My favourite thing about my role is seeing the faces of the residents tucking into their food, with my favourite quote being " That was my favourite meal." In my kitchen, I also spend time making sweet treats, for staff birthdays, coffee mornings, visitors and my most enjoyable to make, the resident's birthday cakes. When their faces light up it really makes my day.
My name is Georgina & I am the Well-Being & Activities Coordinator at Ashurst Mews. I am new to the role but have many years of experience in activities, planning and supporting the well-being of others.
I largely gained my experience from working within the Educational System for 15 years, working my way from unqualified to management, using my skills as transferable skills to the home.
I really enjoy event planning and making each and every activity larger than life, adding the small details and tailoring the day to the residents and also our families and friends.
My family are very close and we enjoy taking time out of our personal lives to support the elderly within our community, so what better way to extend that than to support those residing in Ashurst Mews? I am excited about the future and can't wait to share it with you all.
If you see me around the home please stop to say Hello, I love getting to know everybody & it's wonderful to learn about new people. There may be an activity you would like to join in with, one we may not do here and you could suggest, the opportunities are endless & I can not wait to hear all about them.
Hi, I'm Julia and I have worked at Ashurst Mews Since May 2017.
Within my role I ensure the house is kept in a presentable condition, and that residents are living in a warm, welcoming, clean and fresh environment, making this their home from home and a place they are comfortable in.
I have a team who work alongside me, they are a very strong and reliable team who work hard to maintain high standards. I am proud of my team and the standards we produce. Within our role we also make time to gain bonds with the residents and their visitors, we meet and greet them in their rooms daily, supporting them with any cleaning tasks, laundry needs and general housekeeping. We ensure everything is labelled correctly, hung and sorted for each resident.
I enjoy taking time to get to know residents' routines and their personalities so I can support them on a person-centred approach.
My name is Pat and I'm the Head of Maintenance at Ashurst Mews.
Daily I look after the running of the maintenance side of the home, planning and carrying out scheduled tasks as necessary.
I have been doing maintenance for 25 years now but with Avery, I have been employed for 1 year. I always ensure any issues are always dealt with and make sure Ashurst Mews runs smoothly and safely for all who enter and live in the home.
I feel Ashurst Mews is a home that is running very well with very good communication and the atmosphere is always a pleasure to work in.
