Hello, I'm Keeley and I work in the kitchen at Ashurst Mews as Head Chef.
I have actually worked for Avery for 13 years, working in 4 different homes during this time, but I have settled and found my future here at Ashurst Mews where I have now been for 6 years.
Part of my role is to come up with different meals that are both healthy, nutritious and tasty. I tailor the meals to the individual needs and dietary requirements of each resident within the home and make these meals look inviting and the menus appealing.
My favourite thing about my role is seeing the faces of the residents tucking into their food, with my favourite quote being " That was my favourite meal." In my kitchen, I also spend time making sweet treats, for staff birthdays, coffee mornings, visitors and my most enjoyable to make, the resident's birthday cakes. When their faces light up it really makes my day.
Hi, I'm Julia and I have worked at Ashurst Mews Since May 2017.
Within my role I ensure the house is kept in a presentable condition, and that residents are living in a warm, welcoming, clean and fresh environment, making this their home from home and a place they are comfortable in.
I have a team who work alongside me, they are a very strong and reliable team who work hard to maintain high standards. I am proud of my team and the standards we produce. Within our role we also make time to gain bonds with the residents and their visitors, we meet and greet them in their rooms daily, supporting them with any cleaning tasks, laundry needs and general housekeeping. We ensure everything is labelled correctly, hung and sorted for each resident.
I enjoy taking time to get to know residents' routines and their personalities so I can support them on a person-centred approach.
My name is Pat and I'm the Head of Maintenance at Ashurst Mews.
Daily I look after the running of the maintenance side of the home, planning and carrying out scheduled tasks as necessary.
I have been doing maintenance for 25 years now but with Avery, I have been employed for 1 year. I always ensure any issues are always dealt with and make sure Ashurst Mews runs smoothly and safely for all who enter and live in the home.
I feel Ashurst Mews is a home that is running very well with very good communication and the atmosphere is always a pleasure to work in.
I joined Avery’s Ashurst Mews in December 2025, bringing with me extensive experience in the care sector, where I have worked since the age of 17. Over the years, I have progressed through a variety of roles, including Care Assistant, Senior Care Assistant, Deputy Manager, and Home Manager, gaining a well-rounded understanding of high-quality care and leadership.
My journey into care began by chance, but it quickly became clear that it was where I was meant to be. I’m deeply passionate about delivering exceptional care and take great pride in supporting, training, and developing my team to share my strong values and commitment to excellence.
I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management. In addition, I have completed specialist training in end-of-life care, further strengthening my ability to lead compassionate and person-centred services.
Outside of work, I serve as the Welfare Officer for a local judo club attended by my son, where I apply my safeguarding knowledge and commitment to wellbeing within the community.
I’m proud to lead the team at Ashurst Mews and to be part of the Avery Healthcare “One Family” ethos, ensuring residents, families, and staff feel supported, valued, and respected every day.
I began my career in care at just 15 years old, quickly discovering a genuine passion for supporting others. By the age of 18, I had progressed to Senior and Deputy Manager roles, gaining valuable leadership experience early in my career. After this, I took time to travel and explore different opportunities, trying my hand at a variety of roles, including Log Cabin building and landscaping. However, care has always been where my heart lies, and I have consistently found my way back to the sector.
I joined Avery shortly after the COVID pandemic, bringing with me years of hands-on experience and a strong commitment to resident well-being. Due to a spinal condition, I now work part-time as a Receptionist at Ashurst Mews, where I continue to make a positive difference by offering a warm welcome and ongoing support to residents, families, and colleagues.
Outside of work, I enjoy making wooden crafts and spending time on my boat, which I am currently renovating.
I joined Avery Healthcare in July 2025 as Home Administrator, bringing many years of administrative experience across healthcare settings, including another care home and GP surgeries. This background has given me a strong understanding of compliance, organisation and the importance of efficient systems in delivering high-quality care.
In my role, I help to ensure that everything runs smoothly within the home whilst maintaining the highest standards of care and regulatory practice. I am passionate about building positive relationships with residents and their families, and I take pride in supporting a dedicated team that delivers compassionate, person-centred care. For me, it’s about creating a home where everyone feels respected, valued, and truly at ease.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, as well as watching films and reading.

My own experiences with pain and mobility challenges help me to empathise deeply with many of our residents.
At home, I enjoy cooking, baking, knitting and watching rugby. I also have some pets –2 cats, 1 dog and 2 chickens.
My proudest achievement are my children.
