Since my Review posted June 2025 the consistently high standards have been maintained, especially as regards individual personal care, attention and welfare for my wife who has been resident for nearly 2 years and receives Dementia Nursing Care. The initial impressions of the high quality establishment and surroundings are validated and then surpassed by the evident competence, continuous training and development, and overall professionalism of all staff in all roles. My high regard can be summarized by "if I should ever need such care, then please let it be at Spencer House".

In May 2025 my mother moved into Spencer House when we as a family were looking for a home for mum it was a very difficult time for all of us, but as soon as we walked into the reception we knew that Spencer House was the place for mum, since moving in she has been very happy. The staff are amazing and care for mum's every need. As a family we are very pleased and would recommend the home.

My mum and dad moved in to the care home earlier this year as they were no longer safe to be home alone. Since then we have been nothing but delighted with her care. The staff are wonderful and always happy to talk about Mum, discuss anything about her care and well-being, as well as tell us what she's been up to, and things she's talked about. We look forward to seeing pictures on social media of her enjoying herself too.
She may be confused, but she is safe, loved and happy, what more can you ask for?
Thank you for your very kind response in relation to the standard of care you feel your loved one has received since becoming part of the Spencer House Care Home family. We are delighted that we have been able to alleviate any worries or anxieties that she initially felt prior to her coming to us....
Our elderly mother was accepted for respite care after several falls and stays in the hospital. Her room is bright and well-decorated. The staff are caring and attentive and couldn't do more for her. She has thrived and improved considerably in three weeks. Very happy with the care and attention and will probably stay as a permanent resident.
Spencer House is more akin to a lovely hotel than a care home. The facilities, shared spaces and rooms are beyond both mine and my Dad's expectations. The only thing that trumps the overall facilities, is the staff. From the moment my Dad moved in (feeling scared), the staff welcomed him with open arms, and he was instantly relieved as he walked into reception for the first time. I cannot express enough, in writing this review, on how thankful I am to all of the staff at the home, they all go out of their way to ensure my Dad is comfortable, understood and always has someone available to help him with his needs. Whether that is just a chat or something more personal, they all treat him with such care and dignity. My dad has now been in the care home for five months and he feels settled, comfortable and beyond all has a sense of belonging. Alongside this, the staff in my opinion, go above and beyond with some amazing personal touches and understanding of my dad's interests and needs.
My mum had been in Spencer House for just over five years before she sadly passed away three days ago. During that time, she was very well looked after by some lovely carers, house keepers, senior carers and management. Mum loved the carers, housekeepers etc, and I know they loved her. They went way beyond what their jobs entailed and made Mum so happy. When Mum got infections, they really excelled in looking after her, and nothing was too much trouble. I would advise anyone looking for a care home for a relative or friend to seriously look at this home.
My mum has been in Spencer House for three and a half years now. The care she receives is second to none. Every member of staff I have encountered has been friendly and caring. She is happier and healthier than ever before. The whole team do an amazing job. The care home itself is like a hotel, it is lovely and clean and comfortable. I am 100% happy with our choice of care home for our mum.

Our parents moved to Spencer House during November 22. Sadly, they have both passed away. During their time here, they received excellent care that we found faultless. Every member of staff was dedicated and truly went over and above, often doing the extra bit in their own time. They felt like family. Nothing was ever too much trouble. We have nothing but praise for the team who made our parent's last few months worth living. They were also super supportive of our extended family.

If you want to have peace of mind when a loved one moves into a care home then Spencer House will provide that. The kindness that the team show and the expertise they have is second to none. My father has found a new lease of life here. It's spotlessly clean with beautiful decor and the food is of a restaurant quality. It has a real family feel and there are many activities throughout the week. Dad also enjoys the in-house cinema. I live outside the UK and video call regularly with Dad and they are always so helpful in setting up the iPad for him. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Spencer House to anyone and am very grateful to the whole team who take care of my dad so well.

As a family, we have no words to express our gratitude and thanks for the exemplary care, love and attention my father and mother have received since they moved into Spencer House. From the initial introductory meeting to the end-of-life care my father has received and the ongoing love, care and attention my mother is still receiving, we have nothing but positive things to express about the amazing team that combines to provide personal, genuine and high-quality care. We would find it difficult to identify any individual, although we would love to name so many because each and every one of the team is exceptional. In addition, not only do the entire team show enormous respect and love towards my mother and father, they equally make our family feel like part of their family, and for that, we thank them all from the bottom of our hearts.

I am currently working as a senior General Manager for Spencer House Care Home and support the company with multi-site management. I joined Avery Health Care in 2015 and worked at Ashurst Mews Care Home in Moulton Northamptonshire. I am a registered general nurse by profession. I spent many years at Ashurst Mews and this helped me develop my foundations of delivering excellent care and also developed my management skills, my personal skills and this provided me with the opportunity to transfer to Spencer House to develop further as a senior General Manager. I have a real passion for developing staff and consider myself a very hands-on manager.
I take pride in leading by example and working with and for both our residents and staff. I enjoy watching our home go from strength to strength and find the small achievements equally important as the larger ones. I like to see our ethos of care being delivered every day and watching my residents blossom, remain well, feel at home and safe under the care of my staff and myself. I find the receptiveness of staff and residents to any improvements we make effortless. I have been delighted to accept and feel the timing was right.
