Spencer House Care Home - Avery Healthcare

I am currently working as a senior General Manager for Spencer House Care Home and support the company with multi-site management. I joined Avery Health Care in 2015 and worked at Ashurst Mews Care Home in Moulton Northamptonshire. I am a registered general nurse by profession. I spent many years at Ashurst Mews and this helped me develop my foundations of delivering excellent care and also developed my management skills, my personal skills and this provided me with the opportunity to transfer to Spencer House to develop further as a senior General Manager. I have a real passion for developing staff and consider myself a very hands-on manager.

I take pride in leading by example and working with and for both our residents and staff. I enjoy watching our home go from strength to strength and find the small achievements equally important as the larger ones. I like to see our ethos of care being delivered every day and watching my residents blossom, remain well, feel at home and safe under the care of my staff and myself. I find the receptiveness of staff and residents to any improvements we make effortless. I particularly take pride in watching my staff embrace any new changes and challenges and developing their knowledge of any new, innovative systems we implement. I have been delighted to accept and feel the timing was right.

I very much enjoy spending time with my family and looking after them. I have a keen interest in cooking and spend a lot of my free time with my family. I very much enjoy being outdoors and can spend many hours attending to my garden. I also like to keep myself active physically. I enjoy regular countryside walks. I like to keep abreast of current affairs and take an interest in world events, often watching global news programmes and documentaries.

My role involves supporting the manager and all staff to ensure a high level of quality care is delivered at all times. I am very proud to work at Spencer House and be a part of its dedicated staff team.

I am very fond of cooking, baking and reading. My favourite animal is cats. My dream would be to open my own animal sanctuary and children's home.

My role involves supporting the team at Spencer House to ensure a high standard of care delivery. I enjoy using my nursing and clinical skills to help develop staff and improve our services.

I am very family-orientated and enjoy spending as much time as possible with both my family and close friends, in particular, holidays overseas.

I started at Spencer House in May 2018 and I am an advanced senior carer and work closely with the nurses on Blenheim.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two daughters.

I have worked in the care sector for several years. I started working in domiciliary care supporting people in their own homes. I joined the team at Spencer House in October 2017. I enjoy supporting the residents and their families during their stay at Spencer House, as well as the fact no two days are the same.

During my time off, I enjoy walks with my husband and my dog Rosie along the canals and parks.

I am a nurse by profession but I am currently a HCA at Spencer House.

I am very passionate about my job and love making the residents smile.

I am a healthcare assistant at spencer house. It is a nice place to be, I enjoy working with the staff. I am so grateful and love spending time with the residents.

I started working at Spencer House in September 2022, I enjoy working at Spencer House Care Home as a carer. I started working on the nursing floor and now I also work on the residential floor.

I live alone, I have two children and three grandchildren. I love going on holidays with my children and grandchildren. I also enjoy going on cruises with my friends.

I am a gentile and kind soul who found her calling in care and became passionate about dementia.

In my spare time I enjoy swimming, a good movie and appreciating friendships.

Working as a care assistant gives me great joy and satisfaction when I can contribute to making someone feel better about themselves or a little bit less intimidated by the obstacles they face.

There are two main remarks I cherish from people I have supported: 'It is not what you do but how you do it that makes such a difference' and 'You make me feel comfortable'.

I have recently joined Spencer House and so far I am really enjoying my work. I am fresh to the field as my previous job was in childcare, but I am excited to grow as a carer.

My current role is as a housekeeping assistant which I really enjoy. It is the first time I have worked in a care home and I like getting to know the residents and supporting them.
