My sister has been a resident at Birchmere for 18 months, living with Alzheimers Dementia. She increasingly became more vulnerable, but now she is in a safe, caring environment who are ultimately supportive and respectful with the whole team at Birchmere providing her with agreat quality of life. The many varied activities provided each day, such as organised walks, quizzes, visiting entertainers, it's all about the individual. And of course the chef with the varied, quality menu. I have also been priveleged to sample.
We're so pleased to hear that your sister feels safe and well supported at Birchmere Mews. It means a lot to know that you've seen such a positive difference in her quality of life and that she's enjoying the activities on offer...
The staff have a very special way of nurturing all the residents and Mum has thrived since being there.
As a family we have been actively encouraged to visit and made extremely welcome. I have and would continue to recommend Birchmere Mews as a centre of excellence.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. It means a great deal to hear that your mum has thrived since joining us at Birchmere Mews.
We're delighted that you've felt welcomed and part of the home too. Creating a warm, homely environment where residents and their families feel comfortable and...
My mother has been a resident 7 months now and overall we have been extremely pleased. The staff are attentive and always treat each resident as an individual with their own needs and personalities whilst providing profession care. The well-being co-ordinators go out of their way greet, encourage, empathise and stimulate the residents - giving them a hug, or just holding their hand. What surprised and touched me was how the staff are also aware of the needs and feelings of the family and help us through what is sometimes a tricky and upsetting time. Thank you to everyone
Your kind words about our team, particularly the wellbeing coordinators, are greatly appreciated. We understand that this can be...
Sadly when we brought her home she was very unsettled and unhappy,
She returned to become a long term resident and it's the best thing we ever did,
Every member of staff makes you feel welcome and my Nan is now thriving happy and loving life again.
Nothing is to much and we couldn't of asked for anymore for my Nan or us as a family
Thank you for making such a horrible choice into the best choice choosing not just a care home but a home from home for my Nan !
It means a great deal to hear that your Nan is happy here and that you all feel so welcome. We strive to...
She listened, gave suggestions, and much needed hope. My mum was assessed, and offered a place
We were delighted. Its an absolute pleasure visiting, the staff, the event's coordinator the residents have been so welcoming, many more staff/ carers who have helped my Mum to settle, have been amazing.
The two professionals who work along side my Mum, keep me informed, always helpful with updates and most importantly make me feel at ease.
Thank you so much
Thank you for taking the time to write a review based on your experience. We are glad that we were able to provide reassurance and some hope. I will be sure to pass your kind words on to the team. Thank you
They all provide a caring, loving atmosphere, in which my mother (if she were able) would be very thankful.
They also provide a very friendly and loving greeting and emotional support to myself and two other siblings.
We are very happy with the first class accommodation and surroundings, including top class food, laundry and all other essential services.
The activities the home provide is pro-active, and have been varied content (fitness, cooking, music, dancing etc) in helping to keep Mom alive and loved.
Thank you all for your well earned contribution in my Moms welfare.
Thank you for taking the time to review Birchmere Mews, We are glad we have been able to support you all as a Family, and are happy that Mom and yourselves are comfortable in the home. Long May it continue. Thank you again, and I will be sure to pass these kind words to the team.
Birchmere has a calm atmosphere and the staff are always friendly and helpful - from the Carers, Receptionists and Activities Co-ordinators through to the Cleaners and Laundry Assistants. Residents are treated with care and respect, with individual care plans taking into account personal needs and preferences. Food is varied and interesting and residents are enouraged to join in with the the many activities, some of which include family and friends. I would not hesitate to recommend Birchmere to anyone looking for residential care in the area.
Thank you for reviewing Birchmere Mews, we are happy that we have been able to support. I will be sure to pass these lovely comments to the staff teams. Thank you
Earlier this year my 95 year old Mother moved into Birchmere after an extended stay in hospital. She had been in bed for weeks and was unable to walk. We needn't have worried! No sooner had she arrived, than the team swung into action. Mum was soon mobilised with the help of physiotherapy, and began participating in some of the many activities on offer. We have arrived several times to visit to find her happily singing along with the other residents, something she loves. The staff are unfailingly kind and often go the extra mile to make Mum's life better. They really do care. As her health has deteriorated, they have adapted accordingly. Communication is excellent and all standards are high. I would recommend Birchmere without hesitation as I believe they offer the best possible care .
Thank you so much for your positive review. I will be sure to pass these positive comments to the team. I am glad we have been able to support your Mother and family during the processes and make a difference. Thank you
What a wonderful place! The care team and ALL staff members have made my mom so comfortable and well cared for. They always welcome family members who visit with open arms and affection. This means a lot and helps the family temendously.
Thank you so much for this positive feedback, I am glad we are able to help. I will be sure to pass these kind words to the teams. Thank you
It was a very difficult decision to move my Mother from her own home into a care environment, but whenever we visit her in Birchmere she seems happy and contented . We are extremely happy with the level of care and the staff go out of their way to drop by her room for a chat now that she is less able. I have lost track of the number of times my sister and I have said "thank goodness for Birchmere!", so huge thanks to everyone who works there in whatever capacity - you are doing a great job and we are extremely grateful.
Thank you So much for this Review, I am glad that we are able to support your mother and yourselves through this Journey. It has been and will continue to be a pleasure. I will be sure to pass these kind words on to our staff teams. Thank you
Moving my grandmother into a care home was a difficult decision, but it has turned out to be one of the best choices we could have made. From the moment she arrived at Birchmere, the experience has been nothing short of incredible.
The care she receives is exceptional and it's clear that the staff genuinely care about each resident. They treat everyone like a VIP.My grandmother is taking part in activities she couldn't have done if she still lived alone. Trying so many new things and meeting so many lovely people has really brought back her sparkle.
The home itself is beautiful, clean and welcoming so visiting is always an enjoyable experience.
Seeing my grandmother so well looked after means the world to us and we couldn't be more grateful to the wonderful team who make this place so special.
I will be sure to pass these kind words on to the staff. Thank you so much.
A difficult decision, and sometimes challenging transition, was made so much easier by the staff who have been incredibly helpful, warm, friendly and supportive.
The sensitivity of the staff towards Mum and the family has been touching and deeply appreciated.
Management staff at Birchmere have often provided a listening ear, are quick to respond to any questions or concerns, and they have personally gone the extra mile for Mum.
Now, two months after Mum's move, she has settled nicely. We all have. The manager and her wider staff are to be commended for this. We are all in a happier place because of them.
Thank you for your Kind words, We are glad that your Mother is settling in the home environment. I am glad you have found the experience positive and I will be sure to pass these kind words of praise onto the care team. Thank you
when family and friends are invited to join in the fun.
On behalf of my sister, I Thank You All.
Thank you for your kind Feedback! We love getting everyone involved in the fun. I will be sure to pass on your kind words and positive feedback to the team. Thank you
I stayed and had a meal with my friend which was of wonderful quality. It was well served and tasted delicious. Congratulations to the chef.
Staff and management are kind, congenial and work well together as well as being exceptionally supportive and kind to the residents. Well done!
Thank you so much for taking the time to review Birchmere Mews. We are glad your friend has enjoyed their time with us and we have reached your expectations. We will be sure to keep building on this and we love having your friend stay with us. I will be sure to pass this amazing feedback on to the team. Thank you.
After many years of refusing any outside of family help my 99-year-old mother agreed to nine days respite in Birchmere Mews whilst I took a holiday. On telephoning her from Cornwall I was told 'I'm staying!'. Since then she has settled well, made friends and joined in most of the activities. As a family, we have been delighted and relieved by the whole process and particularly by the warmth and support shown to her and us by every member of staff. This has been particularly in evidence today - Mum has become unwell and the care shown to her plus the communication with me regarding her condition has been exemplary. She telephoned me to tell me how kind everyone has been to her and to reassure me she feels better. She, and I, could not ask for more.
Thank you very much for this lovely review. We are so glad Mum has settled and is enjoying it here. I will be sure to pass these lovely comments on to the team. Thank you.
I am absolutely delighted with my choice of Birchmere Mews Care Home for my mum. I had looked at four dementia care homes and Birchmere jumped out as an absolute star because the staff, particularly five members of staff, created such a great first impression. They are so warm and welcoming. There are great activities for the residents if they wish to participate, amazing choice of food, beautiful ensuite bedrooms and it just felt right for my mum. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and both senior care staff are meticulous in following up with the doctor, district nurses etc. It is such a hard decision to make, placing a loved one in the care of others, but the home has exceeded my expectations. Both my mum and I are treated with kindness, warmth, patience and compassion.
Thank you for taking the time to review Birchmere Mews Care Home. We are pleased that we have exceeded your expectations and hope to continue to do so. I will be sure to pass on this great review to our hardworking, compassionate teams. Thank you.
My aunt has been residing at Birchmere Mews since last November. From the moment I went to look at this care home, the staff have been helpful, attentive, courteous and so friendly. All the staff have made my aunt feel at home there, and nothing is too much trouble. She loves to go out on the regular trips around the area and there is always some sort of activity going on. It is very well-run and extremely clean, and all my aunt's needs are met with a smile and a cheery word. My aunt is often encouraged to have a coffee and a chat with the lovely staff. The team really try and make the residents stay there as happy as possible. I would have no hesitation in recommending Birchmere Mews - what a super care home. Well done to everyone who works there.
Thank you so much for taking the time to complete the review card, and thank you for this lovely review. I will be sure to pass your kind words on to the staff, we are pleased that we are able to make our residents feel so comfortable and at home. Thank you.
Mum was admitted only a short time ago but I have nothing but praise for all of the staff for their care, friendliness and enthusiasm. It's clear that standards are high in all aspects. It really is faultless.
Thank you for taking the time to leave this lovely feedback. I will share these lovely words with the staff. We are glad that you are pleased with the service offered. Thank you again
Very caring staff. Mum loves her room, she is so much happier now she has someone around all day. The only area Mum talks about in a negative way is the food. She enjoys her breakfast and especially the soup but is less keen on the main meals.
Thank you for your feedback. I will be sure to pass these kind words onto the team. I will arrange for our dedicated kitchen team, to discuss menus and options with Mum to get feedback on what will be preferred. Thank you again.
My uncle was only at Birchmere Mews for 5 weeks before he passed but the care he received was 100% he settled in straight away and the careers were brilliant with him I have to say thank you to the home manager and customer service manager for the help they gave me in getting him into Birchmere and settled, Birchmere is a lovely home from home happy clean place to be thank you to all the staff for giving him the best five happy weeks.
Thank you for your lovely words, we are so glad that we were able to support during the uncertain times and be able to help make the last 5 weeks the best! I will be sure to pass your kind words onto the staff team. Thank you
