Birchmere Mews Care Home is a delightful home in Solihull. Benefitting from a thoughtful refurbishment, the home ensures the comfort and security of residents and is renowned not just for residential care but also for delivering some of the finest dementia care in Solihull. The home provides dedicated bedrooms for residents with dementia, featuring en-suite wet rooms and three-quarter-sized beds for comfort.

We were given a warm welcome by all the care staff and made to feel extremely safe in the present circumstances. I feel very happy that my auntie is being well cared for she looks so well and is extremely happy. She loves the activities that are put on every day and she says the food is delicious. We

I felt I was in good hands straight away and feel very settled and well looked after. The other residents are all 'good for a laugh' and we enjoy each other's company. Care is excellent on the whole and I have no wish to go anywhere else. Support from outside is arranged with no fuss.

I came to Birchmere Mews at the end of January, to stay for a few weeks respite and rehabilitation but had to stay for 6 months due to the virus lockdown. Therefore I think my experience has been affected/changed because of this and all the restrictions which ensued. The staff have been lovely and caring
and I have made good friends who have helped me a lot. But I feel there has been too much pressure put on them because too many have been furloughed. This has affected everything from care to food, especially in recent weeks.

My mother moved into Birchmere Mews in December 2019 as she was unable to look after herself in her own home. She had always been very wary of going into a home but once she had looked round was converted. She has settled in very well and we are very impressed with every aspect of her life. All the
staff are excellent, caring and kind, the surroundings are lovely - just like a hotel and she is very well looked after at all times. It is a pleasure to visit her.

Only visited a few times but on each occasion, I have been so impressed with the ambience, 5* facilities and attentive staff. When I got home, I showed my daughter the pictures on their website, hopefully, I'll get my name down in the future.

I received a warm welcome when I arrived with my dear daughter the day before I was to become a resident. A few forms they filled in, showed me around Birchmere Mews Care Home and treated me with the courtesy and respect. I was in a wheelchair. The staff took me to an appointment at hospital and back.
A lovely choice of food morning, noon and tea time and endless cups of tea or coffee. The place is clean and tidy. Anything is not too much trouble, even nails and hair cuts.

The home is extremely well furnished throughout, indeed to a very high standard. The bedroom is of a good size and the communal areas are very good. A considerable amount of activities for the residents is provided. The food is very varied and to a very good standard. Probably most importantly the carers
are extremely good, help and assist the residents in a very caring and respectful manner. All are very friendly and provide an update on how things have gone since the last visit. A very well run care home.

A beautiful care home, modern decor. The staff are very caring, nothing is too much trouble and always with a smile on their face. Food is excellent and menus well thought out. A wonderful place to be and I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

I took my cousin to visit my mother last week. He is a GP on the South coast and had made a special trip to visit. As a GP he visits several care homes. He was so impressed at Birchmere. He said that the space and homely quality of the furnishings were amazing. However, what impressed him more was the
quality of the attentive care he saw being shown to all residents. He thought my mother looked better than he had seen her two years ago!

Thank you to everyone on duty on the day my Mum was admitted. After a 100 mile journey, I had imagined the worst, but everyone was so kind, gentle, calm and caring to Mum and to me. Mum is beginning to settle (5 weeks in). I am always made welcome. Everyone is friendly and I am kept informed of any
issues. Thank you for caring for my Mum and caring about her too. I definitely made the right choice.

My mother is slowly becoming accustomed to her new surroundings. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Room is very pleasant. A suggestion for communication that staff state who they are and why they're there on each visit as my mother's profound memory loss means she still cannot remember who they are.

Members of staff from every department are kind, helpful and caring to all residents. They show a great level of understanding which is second to none. Their support to families is beyond the call of duty.
From the moment my mother lived at Birchmere Mews Care Home we have never once questioned if

The staff are very gracious and caring sometimes in difficult circumstances and at all times give the welfare of the residents' priority. When I visit I feel like part of the family. I enjoy the freedom to come and go without restriction.

Since my first review last year I would now say that cracks are starting to appear in various aspects of care. The services promised by the sales pitch are not entirely true and the home only provides care for low-grade dementia, staff are not trained to deal with complex behaviour. That said, the carers
are all lovely and work very hard under pressure, shortage of staff at night is a big problem. My mother is looked after well but I believe she does not actually demand a great deal at the moment, things may change so I hope her needs will be met with the dignity and respect that she deserves. I feel at the moment Birchmere Mews are promoting a 5* hotel type appearance with luxurious surroundings but only providing a 3* service which is very disappointing considering the amount charged to live there.
