Bourn View Care Home in Bournville opened its doors in June 2017, and it has quickly become one of the most impressive additions to Avery's repertoire of private care homes in the Midlands. They are proud to be associated with the Bournville Village Trust's care community for the elderly, and the home offers respite, residential and dementia care services.

The building stands in an elevated position and boasts stunning views of a waterfall, stream and the Bournville Village. Its sleek design features a beautiful central curved roof, floor-to-ceiling windows, and doors that open to the grounds, creating a light, sunny and connected atmosphere with the surrounding landscape.

The care home in Birmingham has beautiful atriums on each floor, and they house a bistro and bar where residents, friends and families gather. Additionally, four dining rooms and intimate lounges, styled in contemporary décor with bold splashes of colour, lead out to terraces that provide a perfect setting for a pre-dinner drink or an observation of the magnificent surroundings. The home also includes its own hair salon, café, and cinema room.

The home is open to visitors, where you can witness first-hand the beauty of Bourn View Care Home.

Bourn View Care Home is well located on a beautiful site with access to facilities. The whole staff team are hardworking and committed to providing residents with high quality care. In my experience the care team is consistent and understand the needs of residents. Some individual carers go the extra
mile delivering outstanding care consistently. The quality of food is good and on special days there are special menus. Relatives are welcome to dine with their loved ones in the bistro (as a complimentary meal which is appreciated). The well being team organise a good range of activities delivered with cheerfulness. The onsite GP practice is a great benefit

The team so far have been amazing.
Kim. Grace (liaison manager) .. Sarah (deputy) etc privide good support to aunt and us as a family.
Our aunt is loving being at Bourneview and doesn't want to leave..
Activities have been great for our aunt.
She has made friends already.
She feels comfortable
with the staff and feels at home now..
Having support as family is also important as it can be stressful navigating social care etc. . So far grace has well supported us with this .

I can't explain how happy I am with the care and support at Bourn view! From initial call to find out more about the home to visiting and then to my Aunt moving in. The care and compassion is above anything I've experienced before! Every member of staff are warm friendly and approachable. The setting
is beautiful it's clean modern and welcoming. The care is for families as well as the person staying at Bournview. Nothing is to much trouble and My Aunt is so happy there you would think she'd been there years not days. I love we can follow what she's been up to by the pictures on social media and the weekly activity guide helps us plan visits so we don't interrupt her fun.

Dad has been at Bourn V 7 months now and it is a huge relief to see him content, settled and so well cared for. There are several factors that make this home so special. It's a modern, beautifully decorated building with gardens and balconies.Public areas and residents rooms are always clean and fresh.
The bistro is particularly pleasant to have a coffee and catch up.
But most importantly it's the staff that make this home unique. Every member of staff have made the effort to get to know dad and talk to him regularly which has meant so much.
When you visit you are greeted by welcoming, helpful receptionists.Carers are competent, respectful, and always keep relatives updated. Meals are delicious and healthy (the homemade soups are the best !). Residents clothes are laundered with care. The Wellness staff are both empathetic and enthusiastic organising a full timetable of varied activities encouraging residents from all units to take part. BV thank you please keep up this high standard

My Father-in-Law originally did respite at Bourn View in June 2025, but it became abundently clear that he wanted to move in as a permanent resident. He spent 41/2 extrememly happy Months before he unfortunately passed away in December 2025.
From the moment we met Grace to arrange respite, until the
very end of his life the staff could have not been more respectful, caring and kind. It is like being in a 4 star hotel (I would say 5 star but it hasn't got a swimming pool!!).
We never once found any disrepect or attude to any of the residants, and staff were always at hand.
I return Bourn View on a regular basis, to meet friends my Father-in-Law made, as well as the office staff and carers.
My father-in-Law couldn't have had a better way to spend his final 41/2 Months than being in Bourn View.
A a massive thank you to the entire team at Bourn View.

Bourn View care home provides good quality care for mom and there is a relaxed atmosphere throughout. Receptionists, care staff and managers are all very approachable and make visitors feel very welcome. The food is good and menu changes daily. There is a wide range of activities for all residents to
take part in which mom enjoys. Mom also enjoys the company of the other residents as well as her own space and time in her room.

Moving a loved one into the care setting is the most difficult decision. The staff at Bourn View have made the transition easier for our family. From the reception and office staff to the care staff, activities team, laundry ladies, kitchen staff and housekeepers, they are all so friendly and welcoming.
Always willing to help with any questions. They all know mum's name and always acknowledge her and have time to chat. They have taken time to get to know her personally in order to meet her individual needs. The unit where mum resides is very well run by a senior carer. She always makes time to listen to concerns and actions suggestions in a timely manner. Her communication is excellent. The care staff we have met are always very well presented and are very professional. Bourn View offers a lovely family friendly environment where families and friends can join activities or find a nice quiet sunny spot in the extensive garden for a chat. The activities on offer are varied and fun.

Five star service from the very beginning with my initial enquiry with the lovely Grace there for my dad all the way through to becoming a resident at Bourn View, My Dad absolutely loves it there, it is so reassuring to me to know that I have made the right choice for him.
The professionalism of all
the staff is exceptional and nothing is never too much for them, from the minute you walk through the doors, and if you have questions or queries they are there to help.
Grace, Katy, Tracey, Cara, Hugh, Jake & Zoe are just a few of the fantastic staff that I have had the privilege of meeting so far, and I know that there are many more special staff in this establishment
I would thoroughly recommend. Thank you Bourn View, and keep up the excellent work that you provide.

The care my mum received at Bourn View was as professional, compassionate and warm as we could possibly have hoped. It's a luxury-styled place, but that would be nothing without the staff. They are gentle, patient, kind and attentive. Nothing and no one is trouble. My mum was so safe, happy and healthy,
we stopped worrying. I can't say better than that - we stopped worrying. Bourn View is a wonderful place that you can trust, without question.

My grandad initially came for respite in June for 4 weeks, he loved it so much that he became a permanent resident in August. As a family we noticed such a difference in him, he was happier, his mobility improved and it was lovely to see him getting involved in the activities. The care home is beautiful,
bright, clean and the staff are incredible. I have already recommended Bourn View to a couple of people whi have been looking at care homes for their family members. Thank you to everyone for taking such care in our family memories.

Bourn View has given me time to recover after major surgery. All of the carers have assisted me, where necessary, with great kindness, care and compassion. Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.795)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.795) out of 10 for Bourn View Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.795 for Bourn View Care Home - Avery Healthcare is calculated as follows: ( (247 Excellents x 5) + (42 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 298 Ratings = 4.795
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bourn View Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Jenna Hughes

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

Hello, my name is Jenna, and I am the Home Manager here at Bournview Care Home.

I have over 10 years of experience in the healthcare sector. Prior to becoming home manager here, I have had several previous roles, including senior care assistant, deputy manager at an Army nursery and a moving and handling trainer for the NHS. I am always looking into ways to develop my skills in the sector and have successfully done this by proudly accomplishing the NVQ levels 2, 3 and 5.

I would best describe myself as someone who is warm, welcoming and someone who is also on the go. In my downtime, I enjoy cheering my children on from the sidelines at their football matches.

Within my career, I have been lucky enough to meet many residents with amazing stories and backgrounds. Seeing my residents happy and enjoying life each day gives me the motivation to perform at the highest level. One memorable moment that I will cherish forever was when one of my residents had difficulties walking. Using my experience, I referred them to occupational therapy, where they began to walk with assistance and without aids within two months. This is just one example of where I have been able to use my skills to better the lives of our residents.

Avery Healthcare, owners of Bournview, best stands out for their luxurious appearance and expectations of what quality care should be received by our residents. All staff receive continuous support and training. And our home is no different. Our home is unique as it is a true home from home. It is filled with an endless amount of fun, care and love. Residents, relatives and staff all form one happy community.

I look forward to welcoming you to Bournview Care Home.

Job Title: Deputy Home Manager Joined: 2023

Hi, I’m Sarah, the Deputy Home Manager here at Bournview Care Home. I’ve been proudly part of the Bournview family for 8 years now, and in that time I’ve worn many hats – from Carer and Senior Carer to Team Leader, and now Deputy. With over 13 years in care, I’ve also gained my NVQ Level 3, and I’m currently working hard towards my Level 5.

What I love most about my role is the people – both residents and their families. Building those relationships and being part of their journey means the world to me. The best part of every day is seeing our residents smile, knowing we’re helping them live a happy, fulfilling quality of life.

For me, Bournview isn’t just a workplace – it’s a home full of love, laughter and dedication.
