Bourn View Care Home in Bournville opened its doors in June 2017, and it has quickly become one of the most impressive additions to Avery's repertoire of private care homes in the Midlands. They are proud to be associated with the Bournville Village Trust's care community for the elderly, and the home offers respite, residential and dementia care services.

The building stands in an elevated position and boasts stunning views of a waterfall, stream and the Bournville Village. Its sleek design features a beautiful central curved roof, floor-to-ceiling windows, and doors that open to the grounds, creating a light, sunny and connected atmosphere with the surrounding landscape.

The care home in Birmingham has beautiful atriums on each floor, and they house a bistro and bar where residents, friends and families gather. Additionally, four dining rooms and intimate lounges, styled in contemporary décor with bold splashes of colour, lead out to terraces that provide a perfect setting for a pre-dinner drink or an observation of the magnificent surroundings. The home also includes its own hair salon, café, and cinema room.

We brought my mom to live here in March and from day one we have all been treated with kindness and respect. Mom is looked after and cared for very well. We feel happy knowing she is always being looked after.

My Mum was a resident at Bourn View until very recently when she passed away. Almost three years. I remember the days of looking around other care homes as it was an important decision to make for Mum's future and for the care of her Parkinson's. The moment we set foot into Bourn View, from the greeting
we got, the tour around and the overall feeling, we knew it was the right choice. Over the last almost three years, we have been safe in the knowledge Mum got her support and needs to be taken care of in such a wonderful place. The staff, the friends Mum made over her time, everyone was so nice and caring. Just wanted to thank everyone for making Bourn View a fantastic place for Mum to live and for us to visit when we came to see her. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

My mum has been in Bourn View for four weeks now as a permanent resident on the memory unit. I couldn’t fault Bourn View in any way from the initial visit and then her joining the following week. The homemade the transition as easy as possible and we're keen to make sure they knew enough about my mum
to get her settled, also making things like labelling clothes easy too. My mum has settled in so well and very quickly. She was a quiet individual who didn’t socialise much, so being in the home has been great for her as she’s taking part in most of the activities, which are well thought through and engaging. Whenever I phone, the staff are always so willing to talk to me and give me updates and I honestly feel I couldn’t get a better place for my mum. I know she’s being well looked after and is safe and that’s the most important thing.

My Mom has had the most wonderful two years at Bourn View. She had so much fun with the carers and couldn't fault the home in any way. She loved the food, going to the hairdresser/beautician, and being in the beautiful gardens. She felt independent but, all her care needs were met as well. I searched
high and low to find a care home for her, but couldn't find anything that could compete with Bourn View. Even my friend in Kent was so impressed that she chose the Avery Healthcare home for her Mom.
I can't thank all the staff at Bourn View enough for giving my Mom, and us as a family the best two years Mom could have wished for. She said it was better than being at home. It was like a luxury hotel. Avery has achieved the gold standard for care homes, and I can't thank Bourn View enough for looking after my Mom so well. I appreciate everything you have done for her. She couldn't have been better looked after. And she loved being with you all.

I saw Bourn View online and recommended it to my sister-in-law who has been recently widowed and waiting for a full knee replacement. Understandably, she was anxious and apprehensive. She was nervous as to whether she could adjust to such a massive move. We visited on two occasions and her fears were
alleviated. We were shown around by the Customer Service Manager who gently put her mind at rest and suggested that my sister-in-law might benefit from a short respite stay at Bourn View so that she could experience how it would feel considering her current situation. There was no pressure, just total reassurance that she would be well cared for throughout her stay. My sister-in-law stayed at Bourn View for two weeks and at the end of her stay phoned to say she had decided to stay as a permanent resident. Bourn View has afforded her opportunities to experience wonderful care, nurturing friendships, safety and security which she would not get at home. Thanks to the Customer Service Manager and all the wonderful staff! xxx

Nothing is any trouble. My mum is cared for so well. She is very happy in her home the carers are just amazing all the staff in the home deserve medals - it's a pleasure to see all the residents happy. Well done Bourn View.

We were looking for somewhere for Dad to go just before lockdown and saw inside many local care homes. Bourn View stood out from all of them and Dad went there in March. We bought Mom a Facebook Portal (brilliant) and the staff call every day so that Mom and Dad can see each other and chat. Mom had
a garden visit a while ago, at the end of the visit her and Dad were upset, as was the lady who was looking after Dad...that tells me that she cares! Dad's face lights up when he sees some of the staff, there is clearly a bond there which is lovely and reassuring. At the beginning of the year, Dad had four 'carer' (not all of them did!) visits a day at home, had regular falls and couldn't walk without two people supporting him - he can now walk a short way with a stick and is safe. I don't have any doubts at all about Bourn View and whilst I wish Dad didn't need to be in a home at all, I'm glad he is in Bourn View CARE home! Thanks, everyone.

My father went into this care home on 9th October with dementia as we could no longer care for him at home. I cannot tell you how grateful we are with the care and kindness they have all given him. My parents have been married 71 years and my mom was not coping without him so last week she moved into
the home as well! Because of Covid restrictions, the family could not be there for the reunion but the home organized a live stream so we could watch.
The amount of work and thought they had put into this was way beyond our expectations. We would highly recommend this home to anyone, it is much more than a care home, it seems more like a family atmosphere and for the way they have treated my parents, I cannot thank them enough.

We were able to visit her outside the balcony last week and have arranged another visit. It was agreed that the

My 95 year old father moved into Bourn View at the end of August. He'd been living on his own in Edinburgh since his wife died just over three years ago. He coped with living alone initially but as time went on it became clear that it was not safe for him to live alone and that he needed more care than
could be provided on a part-time basis. We decided to move him into a care home nearer his family in Birmingham and after looking at several options settled on Bourn View. One month later he's happier and has put on a little weight. The staff at Bourn View have played a huge part in making him feel happy and at home. He loves his room and is enjoying the company of the other residents. Moving him into a care home anywhere was always going to be difficult. He was hugely independent, so moving him 300 miles only added to the need to get it right. A huge thank you to Bourn View for making him happy again! Now all we need is the COVID restrictions lifted....

I initially contacted Bourn View looking for respite care for my mum, who has Alzheimer’s. From the very first phone call, every single interaction has been 100 percent supportive, helpful and kind. The home have helped our family to deal with the difficult decision to move Mum in permanently, after
a successful respite stay. Mum moved in on 15th June and the staff have been so kind to her and to us with all my multiple queries and questions!!! I know Mum is safe, calm and content there. I cannot thank Bourn View enough.

My aunt is a resident at Bourn View and recently was taken ill with coronavirus symptoms. After being isolated and receiving the expert barrier nursing from the staff, she has now recovered and is on the mend. It turned out that it was Covid-19. My aunt is over 90 years old. Before this I had visited
my aunt at the facility and was impressed with
the facilities. I'm not as qualified as my aunt's immediate family as to the day to day running of the home but I do know they are very happy with the care their family member receives.

I cannot speak highly enough of Bourn View. From the moment we enquired about care for Dad to the present, they have been wonderfully helpful. The staff are so caring and it feels just like a family. The facilities are wonderful; spotlessly clean and the grounds are a pleasure to spend time in. The
en-suite rooms are spacious and ground floor rooms have access to the gardens. Dad already has his patio set outside and is just waiting for Santa to bring him a bird feeder so that he can watch the birds.
The residents can take part in as many or as few activities as they wish and there are a lot to choose from. Dad's social life is better than mine. He goes swimming regularly and has joined the resident's choir.
It is certainly not the cheapest care home available, but Dad is settled there and thriving. To me, it is worth every penny.

The staff I cannot falter from the management team to the caring staff. My father had problems with his catheter and ended up in A&E. The staff were excellent. The accommodation was excellent, standard very good. Food must have been good as I believe he ate well. Laundry is very good. When I came to
pick his suitcases, I realised his clothing were all clean. Very impressed! I would certainly recommend Bourn View Care Home. Superb service and well-staffed.

Sadly December last year my Nan had a blackout fall which led to her being hospitalised for 3 months, and in an assessment bed for 7 weeks, at this point me and my family just did not know what to do it was an awful time for all of us! It soon became apparent she had dementia, something we’d never experienced
as a family before such an awful disease! But ever since nan has been in Bourn View the care she received has completely changed her mood, and massively put mine and my family’s minds at rest! Can’t fault anything! The staff are so kind and so caring, my Nan even says ‘they all love me in here you know’ bless her! Even the team in the background are all so friendly and it’s just a genuinely lovely atmosphere and always a pleasure to go visit my Nan! On her birthday they made a massive fuss of my Nan threw her a party, lots of treats, a card and cakes! My Nan has been to the monkey park and the butterfly farm too! I can’t thank all the team enough for the daily care my Nan receives!

Bourn View has provided excellent care and support to both my grandmother and my family providing all information from the start. Bourn View is an exceptional home and has given my grandmother the confidence and independence to start living a better quality of life while also giving her dignity, this
is all thanks to the excellent care and management team that have supported my grandmother and family through a difficult time, their support has been invaluable to my family. Bourn View has amazing facilities where everybody has the choice to be involved in the activities, the rooms are finished to a very high standard and feel homely and welcoming. The care staff and managers are always extremely helpful and are willing to help with a problem. I can say that this has been a difficult time for my grandmother and family and I cannot thank all the staff at Bourn View enough as they have supported us every step of the way and I have seen a great improvement in my grandmother's health.

The experience of realising we could not care for mum 24/7 was very upsetting. However, our experience of the Bourn View Care Home has been excellent. An initial home visit to gather information pertaining to mum's care and the care package put into place was excellent. The whole team are professional,
kind, supportive and caring. The team caters for all of Mum's needs physically, emotionally and medically, the team know our mother, warts and all. There is always plenty of entertainment and lots of laughter and fun. We are so happy, but more importantly, so is Mum.

My mum has been at Bourn View for 18 months and I am very happy with the care provided - lots of cuddles, words of encouragement when she is feeling confused, singing and dancing, involving many of the residents.
Mum can't recall an awful lot but she is certainly relaxed and happy here at Bourn View,
which makes it a pleasure to visit Mum every Sunday.
Special mention of the team who take Mum out and about - recently to a monkey forest, weekly to church, swimming, etc.
Well done Bourn View.

Hello, my name is Jenna, and I am the Home Manager here at Bournview Care Home.


I have over 10 years of experience in the healthcare sector. Prior to becoming home manager here, I have had several previous roles, including senior care assistant, deputy manager at an Army nursery and a moving and handling trainer for the NHS. I am always looking into ways to develop my skills in the sector and have successfully done this by proudly accomplishing the NVQ levels 2, 3 and 5.


I would best describe myself as someone who is warm, welcoming and someone who is also on the go. In my downtime, I enjoy cheering my children on from the sidelines at their football matches.


Within my career, I have been lucky enough to meet many residents with amazing stories and backgrounds. Seeing my residents happy and enjoying life each day gives me the motivation to perform at the highest level. One memorable moment that I will cherish forever was when one of my residents had difficulties walking. Using my experience, I referred them to occupational therapy, where they began to walk with assistance and without aids within two months. This is just one example of where I have been able to use my skills to better the lives of our residents.

Hi, I’m Sarah, the Deputy Home Manager here at Bournview Care Home. I’ve been proudly part of the Bournview family for 8 years now, and in that time I’ve worn many hats – from Carer and Senior Carer to Team Leader, and now Deputy. With over 13 years in care, I’ve also gained my NVQ Level 3, and I’m currently working hard towards my Level 5.


What I love most about my role is the people – both residents and their families. Building those relationships and being part of their journey means the world to me. The best part of every day is seeing our residents smile, knowing we’re helping them live a happy, fulfilling quality of life.


For me, Bournview isn’t just a workplace – it’s a home full of love, laughter and dedication.
