My father has been here since May, as a temporary resident. From the first contact the team have made everything effortless. The admin team are so helpful and the care team are exceptional, every member of the staff is always friendly and happy. It makes for a wonderful environment.

The rooms are immaculate, and Dad enjoys the food. There is always something going on for those who want to take part. Dad feels very safe + happy! We might have trouble getting him to leave.

Visited on 10th February - Monday. He falls a lot and his mat was not plugged in. He was served lunch in room & his chair was not adjusted so he could eat easily. In dining room, 1 lady against wall had a plate of food & was incapable of feeding herself. Food was all over her table. No one was feeding her. There seemed a staff shortage. For the feed being paid care should be better.

Dad has been at Bourn View Care Home for over four years now. He is happy and very well cared for. Staff always go above and beyond to ensure residents' safety and well-being are maintained.
Despite a change in management over the past eighteen months, standards have been maintained in a time that must have been unsettling for staff.

As a family, we are 100% happy with the excellent care Dad continues to receive.

The team are 100% professional, efficient and empathetic. They have made my mum feel supported and welcome as he has moved into the Bourn View Care Home from an extended hospital stay. The team have also helped us, as a family, to manage the transition into care home living which required our modification of approach with my mum. Thank you.

I can’t fault the care Mom has received since she has been here. The staff have the residents well being first and foremost. They truly care about the people that we as family have entrusted to their care. That is a great comfort for all concerned.

I am really pleased with the help and support my mother is given at Bourn View. The frequent activities are ideal for her, although she doesn't have to join in, she is delighted to do so. This is particularly helpful, as she has dementia and being active is so positive.

The care for my sister continues to be excellent. She is very well cared for and happy here. There are always going to be some issues, but I do feel that once raised they are addressed or at least explained. I would like to see a more consistent approach to actions promised e.g. making phone calls, cutting nails and phone calls. That said, I am very happy with the care my sister is receiving and feel the staff work hard, often going above and beyond.

Choosing a care home was a huge decision for the family. So far, no regrets. The staff are a dedicated team showing a wealth of kindness, friendliness, love and support to my family.

Most important, there are special times for bonding, e.g. having her nails painted and plaiting her hair, also putting on a little make-up (she loves bright nail polish). She enjoys some of the activities (need encouragement to take part more often), socialising is important for her to experience the joy, love and happiness of where she lives.

This is a lovely care home. Always warm and welcoming. Individual care staff are excellent but there is some inconsistency in the standard of care depending on who is on duty. Mum has definitely improved in mobility and mental health since she came here and we are very grateful for that.

I was visiting a resident who is in respite care. Also, I stayed here on respite care five years ago for two weeks. The entrance and approach to the building is well well-signposted. The foyer is welcoming. The reception staff were very friendly and I was delighted that one of the reception staff from five years ago was still there. The care staff were gentle and helpful. They treated my friend with efficient care and dignity.

From the minute you walk through the door you are greeted by smiling friendly professional people. My uncle only spent 3 months here before he passed, but he was made comfortable and treated so kindly by everyone, that we knew we could not have chosen a better place for his last few months. The staff from the front desk to the cleaners. Carers and kitchen staff are professional and amazing at what they do. The bistro in the entrance is a nice little touch, you can take your loved one out there for a drink and they have freshly made cakes and biscuits for you to help yourself. The care is top-class and personal to the individual. They think about the small details that a lot of places don't think of. Can't thank them enough for the care and love they have shown my uncle and us as a family.

Thank you so much for your lovely review Jane. Your Uncle was a truely wonderful man. A true gentleman and an absolute pleasure to look after. We were honoured to be able to be there and care for him in his final few months. I'll pass on your lovely words to the rest of our team, its so lovely for them to hear that their hard work and dedication doesn't go unnoticed. Thank you once again.

Jenna Hughes
Jenna HughesJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2025

Hello, my name is Jenna, and I am the Home Manager here at Bournview Care Home.

I have over 10 years of experience in the healthcare sector. Prior to becoming home manager here, I have had several previous roles, including senior care assistant, deputy manager at an Army nursery and a moving and handling trainer for the NHS. I am always looking into ways to develop my skills in the sector and have successfully done this by proudly accomplishing the NVQ levels 2, 3 and 5.

I would best describe myself as someone who is warm, welcoming and someone who is also on the go. In my downtime, I enjoy cheering my children on from the sidelines at their football matches.

Within my career, I have been lucky enough to meet many residents with amazing stories and backgrounds. Seeing my residents happy and enjoying life each day gives me the motivation to perform at the highest level. One memorable moment that I will cherish forever was when one of my residents had difficulties walking. Using my experience, I referred them to occupational therapy, where they began to walk with assistance and without aids within two months. This is just one example of where I have been able to use my skills to better the lives of our residents.

Avery Healthcare, owners of Bournview, best stands out for their luxurious appearance and expectations of what quality care should be received by our residents. All staff receive continuous support and training. And our home is no different. Our home is unique as it is a true home from home. It is filled with an endless amount of fun, care and love. Residents, relatives and staff all form one happy community.

I look forward to welcoming you to Bournview Care Home.

Hi, I’m Sarah, the Deputy Home Manager here at Bournview Care Home. I’ve been proudly part of the Bournview family for 8 years now, and in that time I’ve worn many hats – from Carer and Senior Carer to Team Leader, and now Deputy. With over 13 years in care, I’ve also gained my NVQ Level 3, and I’m currently working hard towards my Level 5.

What I love most about my role is the people – both residents and their families. Building those relationships and being part of their journey means the world to me. The best part of every day is seeing our residents smile, knowing we’re helping them live a happy, fulfilling quality of life.

For me, Bournview isn’t just a workplace – it’s a home full of love, laughter and dedication.
