Bourn View Care Home - Avery Healthcare

My grandmother is a resident here and has been for about 9 months. She is currently at her end of life stage and at this very difficult time, the staff here at Bourn View have been phenomenal. They have treated my grandmother and the many members of my family with dignity, care and respect. Nobody wants to think about this happening to their family, but I could not think of a better way for us to go through this. The staff here have made this experience as comfortable as it could be for all of us.

The care, dignity and respect showed to my Nan during her stay, and in particular, her final few days, by each and every member of staff was outstanding. Also, the support given to myself and the rest of my family during this difficult time has been above and beyond the call of duty. We would like to place on record our general thanks and gratitude to Bourn View Care Home and would highly recommend them to future service users and their family.

Amazing staff. My nan is at end of life care and the staff have been extremely helpful. We have a large family and we were provided spare rooms to sleep and plenty of drinks and food. I honestly cannot believe how good everyone has been to us and how caring they have been to Nan.

The care we have seen being given is amazing. The staff made our resident very comfortable and looked after all of our visiting family. They went above and beyond.

I was very grateful to see my brother in such good condition. He was clean, safe and happy. The staff were very polite,k professional and caring and the whole establishment is a credit to the city of Birmingham. I am extremely grateful to Bourn View and would recommend it 100%. Bourn View is beautiful looks like a hotel and is well kept, though some earlier bought furniture needs rethinking. The staff were so kind, friendly and fun. There are many activities, superior to all homes we viewed before making our choice and a genuine desire to listen to residents and their families. Understaffing generally explains the few lapses in excellent standards, part of the nature of this employment.

If I had any criticism I think the residents would prefer plainer food choices on the menu.

I would recommend Bourn View to anyone considering this option for a family member.

Regardless of their role, they show a genuine concern and care for the well being of the residents. We're particularly grateful to the manager, front desk, senior carer and nurse for the exceptional care for my mother.

Love Bourn View, wonderful home. Great manager hands-on with everything. Gardens, entertainment activities all excellent for all the residents.

Both of my parents moved into Bourn View in March. I feel blessed to have found such a wonderful home. The staff and manager are all very caring and nothing is too much trouble. My parents are well cared for, entertained and they are very happy. Dad said it's like we have a bigger family now. I would highly recommend Bourn View. It's an excellent home and very good value for money.

Nothing was too much trouble for the home in caring for my ninety-five-year-old father. His wishes were respected and he was treated with the utmost dignity and respect. My father was a fiercely independent man with full mental capacity and the staff made every effort to get to know him as an individual and to engage in lively conversation with him. My father explicitly stated he was very happy with his care and my only regret is that his physical health was not good enough for him to be able to enjoy the home for longer.

The home itself is exceptional. Extremely well managed and run. I cannot recommend enough.

My husband was at Bourne View for only 2 weeks before he died. In that time we couldn't fault the home. The carers were superb, caring and compassionate always willing to help. Not only did they care for my husband they were concerned for me and the family making sure we had drinks and food as we sat with a dying father/grandfather and husband.

Absolutely wonderful, staff very attentive, food excellent, rooms fabulous. I could not wish for a better place for my mom to live.

The care and dedication from all members of staff from carers to housekeeping to catering to management is amazing. All the staff know mum's name. My mum is treated with dignity. The activities are amazing from going to lunch for a carvery at a local pub, the visits to The Black Country Living Museum and the visit from Zoolab - all the residents were engaged. I cannot thank all the staff at Bourn View for the wonderful care that my mum is receiving.

We are long-life friends of the resident who has resided at Bourn View on respite for 3 weeks. He has now agreed to become a permanent resident. The staff at Bourn View are excellent. All staff show respect and empathy to the residents and visiting family and friends. We are particularly impressed with the Bistro idea/area where residents are free to entertain visitors. This encourages people to return time and time again. We have visited numerous homes in Birmingham. However, Bourn View, by far, outstrips them all, providing a 5-star hotel environment.

My mother-in-law, within 8 days, is a changed woman from being inwards, to being like she was some 4 years ago, outgoing and happy.

We are extremely happy with our sister-in-law being at Bourn View Care Home. The staff work really well as a team to ensure all residents individual care needs are met. Our sister-in-law had a fantastic birthday celebration organised by the activities coordinator. I hadn't seen my sister-in-law enjoying and looking so happy in a long time. As she has Alzheimer's this made me and my husband contented we had chosen the right place for her.
