This is the second time my husband has stayed at Lavender Lodge for respite care. He has been very well looked after both times, and I am very happy that I have found a lovely home to care for him. He is 96 years of age and has dementia. The staff are so kind and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for trusting Lavender Lodge with your husband's care once again. We are delighted to hear your feedback and will be sure to share it with the team.
Communication with the family was excellent, especially whenever Dad had any medical concerns, and we were kept informed and reassured. Dad was encouraged to join in activities whenever he was able, which helped him stay engaged and involved.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lavender Lodge to anyone looking for a caring supportive home for a loved one.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that your father felt comfortable, cared for and supported during his stay at Lavender Lodge.
Thank you for your recommendation and for placing your trust in us to care for your father. We will be sure to share your lovely feedback with the team, who will be truly grateful for your kind words.
Care/support- depends on who looking after you. Beds are a little uncomfortable. Bathroom/shower rooms could be improved.
Thank you so much for taking the time to update us with your review and more importantly, for speaking with us directly, it was truly wonderful to have the opportunity to chat with you in person.
We are so pleased to hear that you are happy with the care, activities and facilities here, and that...
Throughout my mother's stay we found the care home to have a family feel rather than a luxury feel which my mother preferred. With the care home being one of the older ones it did not have double glazing, air conditioning or a large outside. However the care home was always kept clean and tidy and house keeping was always in attendance.
The carers and staff are very loyal to this care home and dedication to residents and relatives was first class and certainly makes it have a happy and homely feel.
Thank you for your feedback. While our home is one of the older properties and may not offer some modern features, we pride ourselves on providing a warm, family atmosphere where residents feel happy, cared for and at home. We appreciate your feedback regarding the cleanliness, care and homely environment, which is a reflection of the dedication of our long-standing staff team.
Dad absolutely loves being at Lavender Lodge after initially being against the idea of moving into a care home. He now claims it's the best decision he made and has no regrets. The staff are amazing throughout, from reception, cleaning staff, nurses, chefs, entertainment staff, maintenance and management. They all look after Dad fantastically and I feel I have peace of mind that he is cared for there. Dad especially loves all the activities that are on offer and he is regularly included in helping with quizzes in particular. Dad now has the social interaction that he missed so much after mum passed away and it's given him a new lease of life. Thank you Lavender Lodge for giving Dad the best care.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your dad's experience with us. We are delighted to hear how happy and settled he is at Lavender Lodge and that the activities and social interaction have made such a positive difference.
He required nursing care for several age related issues.
The care he received on daily basis was excellent.
If there was an issue the staff were quick to respond.
The staff always took time out to have a chat with him when passing.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are pleased to hear your Dad received excellent care and support from our team at Lavender Lodge. It is great to know our staff made a positive difference through both their care and companionship.
Following a spell in hospital at the end of January, Dad did not recover his strength. Sadly he passed away in mid-March. During the period of his decline I cannot thank the care home staff enough for their diligent and compassionate care of Dad.
When he moved to Lavender Lodge two years ago it was following a spell in hospital that left him unable to care for himself. The loss of his independence was initially frustrating, but once settled in he realised he was very much in the right place. As a family we honestly believe we had two more years with Dad thanks to him being looked after so well.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We are truly grateful to know that Dad felt settled and cared for at Lavender Lodge and that we were able to support him and your family over the past two years. Your lovely feedback will mean so much to our team.
I would like to thank the staff at Lavender Lodge for all they did for my mother. The care was first class, and I couldn't have expected more. With low staff turnover, you could get to know people on a more personal basis and this was so much better for my mother than constant personnel changes. Activities were always offered. The location is safe, right next to a park - great for sunny days and wheelchair accessible. I would recommend Lavender Lodge without hesitation. We were so lucky to get a vacancy and spend our last days there.
It truly means a great deal to our entire team to know that your mother's care met your expectations and that you felt supported during such an important and emotional time.
It was a privilege to care for...
The meals were well cooked and varied with a well planned menu
The activities team were hard working and always had a daily plan for the residents.
My Mother in law was welcomed any time to spend the day and was able to have lunch and tea and biscuits in the afternoon, watching telly and joining in with any activities.
This is a brilliant well run care home and we would have no hesitation recommending it to anyone.
Your recommendation means a lot to us. We truly appreciate the trust you've placed in our care.
The family made the right choice in Lavender Lodge.

My sister has now been in Lavender Lodge well over one year. We feel the home has been well chosen, having spent many months looking at nursing homes in our area. The move from the nursing home on the IOW was a big step for my sister to be nearer her family. My sister needs high ended care and is bed bound which this nursing home is able to deal with, many of the staff have worked here for many years. Care and attention is excellent and always treat my sister with the highest respect. I find the staff very friendly and helpful at all times I visit the home many times a week at different times of the day so I can see how kind and caring the staff are who are around to check all is well. I have been made to feel very welcome myself each time I visit, always ask if i would like a cup of tea !! It is a great comfort that my sister is being very well looked after, thank you Lavender Lodge and staff.

But your care for dad is 200% now he is on the first floor. X
We also really appreciate you bringing the veranda ramp to our attention. The safety and comfort of our residents and visitors are always...
I am so happy with this care home, who looked after my dad so well. The staff are so helpful and caring. I was upset when he first got there because he had always lived at home and not anywhere else. Thank you everyone for looking after him.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this review we are delighted to receive this feedback and very proud of our caring staff at Lavender Lodge.
The care and nurse staff are all friendly and helpful to Mum's needs.
The activity ladies have been great with Mum and nothing is too much trouble when visiting with young members of my family to keep Mum and them amused.
The food is good and no trouble to make an alternative meal if Mum doesn’t like the menu for the day.
The manager and reception team are friendly and welcoming to our and mum's needs.
All in all is good.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review for Lavender Lodge, the staff will be delighted to read this positive feedback.
The staff and management have been fantastic from the start. My dad is well cared for and has settled in better than we ever expected. He is extremely well looked after, involved in lots of activities, and loves being at Lavender Lodge. Could not be more grateful for the care and support in what was a difficult move.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this review; we are delighted you are happy with your dad's care and very proud of our amazing team at Lavender Lodge.
The care given to our friend shows in the difference and improvement we see in his general attitude, mobility and personal cleanliness. The staff were very friendly and helpful to both him and us. A lovely care home.
Thank you for your review we are delighted to receive this feedback and are very proud of our caring team.
Three of us (1 family, and 2 friends) explored care homes in the care and chose Lavender Lodge as being most suited regarding cosiness and friendliness. When he came in he was in a poor state mentally and physically. The change in just over 2 weeks is incredible - clean, well-fed, less confused, mobile and accepting of his new surroundings (although missing his own home)). We have always felt welcome here and it's such a relief to see our friend recover his faculties. Next step - improvement in his hearing.
My cousin has been in Lavender Lodge for nearly three months and the care she has received is excellent. She is very happy there and I cannot fault the home in any way. The Manager and office staff are very helpful and supportive and the nurse and care staff are excellent.
Thank you for taking the time to leave this review we are delighted that you are happy with the care your cousin receives and very proud of our team at Lavender Lodge.
Mum is so well cared for and loved by all staff and carers at Lavender Lodge. She is totally dependent on others for her care/nursing care and is treated with respect and compassion. As a family, we have no complaints at all.
Thank you for for your kind words, it is such a pleasure caring for your mum and the dedicated team will be delighted to receive this review.
The staff at Lavender Lodge have shown fantastic care and understanding for both my parents. They were particularly caring and sensitive around the time of my dad's death and showed real empathy and support to me and Mum. I know that Mum is well cared for and safe which is a wonderful relief, I no longer constantly worry about her well-being and safety all day! The activities provided seem to be appropriate for Mum in terms of her dementia and she is able to access them at her own level.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such lovely review, it has been an honour to support your dad at Lavender Lodge and the team continue to support your mum during her bereavement journey with love and respect. We are extremely proud of our staff and the wonderful care they provide to our residents and their families.
