We don't live local to the home but try to visit around every 6 weeks, we could not care for my mother to the same high standards that Pemberley give my mother which gives us peace of mind she is being cared for 24/7.
My mother recently reached her 100th Birthday and Pemberley Care Home excelled themselves
in making both my mothers and our family a very memorable day. The event was well organised and everything was thought of including entertainment, excellent variety of food, a celebration cake and they created a book of her life for the family to keep. The home also presented my mother with a lovely gift of a painting of her favourite flowers painted by another resident.
Reply from Pamela Sharman, Client Liaison Manager at Pemberley House Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for your review, it was a lovely day, one to remember for all. It was so nice to see you all there together for her big day. She told us it took a week to open all her cards, bless her. Such a beautiful lady and a pleasure to care for. I will certainly pass on your comments to the team.

My mother was a dementia resident for nearly three years. Throughout this time she received excellent care, particularly in the last two years. The staff were respectful, alert to her needs and she was always treated with kindness. I know that she felt loved by the wonderful carers. She especially enjoyed
the tasty and varied food and the visiting entertainers. Communication between the home and family was always excellent, especially in the last month before she died. I can only speak about the dementia care but I would not hesitate to recommend the home if you are looking for a place for a loved one.
Reply from Pamela Sharman, Client Liaison Manager at Pemberley House Care Home - Avery HealthcareDear Kay, it was an honour to look after your remarkable mother, she was a pleasure to care for and will be sadly missed by all the team. I will pass on your comments as it means a lot to the team. Thank you and our very best wishes to you and your family.

My dad needed respite care at very short notice. The way the staff helped me to organise this and welcome my dad to Pemberley was exceptional. My experience has been that all staff helped my dad settle, made him welcome and get involved in activities I never thought he would do! My family can't thank
you enough for your help at a very stressful time.
Reply from Pamela Sharman, Client Liaison Manager at Pemberley House Care Home - Avery HealthcareDear R
It was a pleasure to take care of him, even if only a short time. Thank you for your lovely review we hope we can be of service again in the future should the need arise. Best wishes to you and your family.

I am a retired Registered Nurse from the NHS and have been on the Nursing Register for over 46 years prior to my retirement.
My mother has been a resident of the home for over 4 years and has consistently received a very high standard of care.
The care delivered has been over and beyond all expectations
and I am very grateful to all staff involved in my mother's care.
You feel the warmth and serenity of the ambience from the moment you walk into the facility and until you leave. I feel part of an extended family each time I visit my mother. Well Done to Erika and her Team

Pemberley House has been a place of genuine comfort and reassurance for our family, and most importantly, for my grandmother, who now calls it home. Entrusting the care of a loved one to others is never easy, but from the very beginning, the team at Pemberley House have demonstrated a level of compassion,
dignity, and professionalism that has far exceeded our expectations.

What stands out most is the kindness of the staff. There is a quiet consistency in the way they treat residents- not as patients, but as individuals with rich lives, histories, and personalities. My grandmother is spoken to with warmth and respect, and it's clear that her wellbeing is not just a duty, but something they genuinely care about.

We are deeply grateful to the entire team for the dignity, kindness, and humanity they bring to work each day. It is not simply a place of care- it is a place of compassion, and that makes all the difference. Thank you.

My husband was in Pemberley House for 3 weeks respite care through March and we were both very happy with the care he received. His care needs are many but he was always helped in every way by kind, courteous and considerate people who always had a smile and a cheery manner. I too was always welcomed
by all the staff and carers whenever I visited my husband. I would have no hesitation in taking my husband back to Pemberley House if either respite or more permanent care is needed in the future.
Reply from Pamela Sharman, Client Liaison Manager at Pemberley House Care Home - Avery HealthcareDear Carole

We have recently needed to find a nursing home for our mum. When visiting Pemberley House we were reassured of the care and kindness that would be shown to all residents. The home is beautifully equipped and has a real home from home feel. Mum moved into the home in May 2025 and she has been shown nothing
but kindness. The staff are interested in her and what she likes even if she is unable to express it herself. We are really pleased we made the decision for mum to live at Pemberley House they treat her with such dignity. The kindness of the staff have made a difficult decision easier. It is lovely knowing our mum is in such good hands. Thank you.

My lovely mum has only been a resident for a short time at Pemberley. She moved in this October. We have felt nothing but supported and guided through the whole process of moving Mum into Pemberley.
From the first time that my husband and I visited on my mum's behalf, the care services manager and
all of the rest of the staff made us very welcome and were able to answer professionally and sensitively any queries and questions that we had.
The whole team in Pemberley were meticulous with the paperwork noting Mum's needs and her preferences from her health records, to the way in which she likes to live, her interests and what makes her happy.
All of this has helped Mum to move into her beautiful room seamlessly, and daily, we are so grateful to the amazing staff who go above and beyond to make sure that Mum is not only happy and comfortable but thriving in her new home. The level of care and love and attention Mum continues to receive is something we are extremely thankful for.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.894) out of 10 for Pemberley House Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.894 for Pemberley House Care Home - Avery Healthcare is calculated as follows: ( (288 Excellents x 5) + (30 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 320 Ratings = 4.894
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Pemberley House Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 registered maximum number of service users is 14.4, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
