A friendly atmosphere is always about the home with staff being jovial to each other as well as the residents.

My dad has been a resident for 6 months now. Naturally we had our concerns that dad would not settle and it was a difficult time for the family. Dad's accommodation is excellent and the care he receives is spot on. All carers are courteous to dad and consider his needs. Any issues are quickly advised to myself and I feel confident dad is being looked after in the best way possible.

My mother has been a resident in the dementia unit here for nearly 6 months. The staff show incredible patience and genuinely understand the complexities of dementia. They treat her with total dignity, ensure she is always neatly dressed, and gently encourage her to join in with the daily music sessions, lite physical activity, craft time and broad church services. Communication with our family is excellent; the manager calls us immediately with any health updates. The home is clean, bright, and smells fresh. It brings our family immense peace of mind knowing she is safe and loved."

Knowing Mum is somewhere she is safe, cared for and surrounded by people who genuinely enjoy spending time with her gives us enormous peace of mind. We can't thank everyone at Hanford Court enough for everything they do

Dad is doing really well and we have peace of mind, that is priceless :-)

I would definitely recommend Hanford Court if you are considering a care home.

A wonderful experience at Hanford Court. All the staff were pleasant, helpful, caring and would take time to help whenever assistance was needed. All the residence were catered for and encouraged to take part in any activities and mix with others. The menu each day was brilliant offering a good choice of food for all tastes. The rooms were clean, bright and plenty of room to move around. Having an ensuite was brilliant as practicable for all. Offering trips out was a bonus for the residents. Also having access to having your hair and feet done is so helpful. A lovely home for all residents, in other words home from home.

Mum enjoyed her first stay in a care home. She felt safe and secure. The staff were caring and treated Mum with dignity. Her room was comfortable and cosy with a lovely ensuite. I can highly recommend Hanford Court, and if Mum needs respite agai,n then I will have no hesitation in choosing Hanford Court.

Two things I would like to say:

- I was very pleased to obtain respite care for my dad at fairly short notice. Two weeks before he needed care, they managed to offer him a place

- My dad appears a lot more perky after his stay there, with the slight downside that he is more clingy to me and doesn't want to be left alone, as he clearly has had more company there

The whole of the management and staff couldn't have been more helpful. Really lovely home, I shall definitely use the respite care again for my mum.

Overall, we were happy with Mum's care.

My dad was made to feel at home straight away, and he settled in his room with a lovely card, flowers and a coffee as a welcome gesture. He really enjoyed his stay on a week's respite, getting involved in some of the activities and enjoying all the delicious food on offer. All the staff were fantastic, and on departure, he was given a box of cupcakes, another lovely gesture. First class experience and a break for my mum.

From the very first second in the front door, we were made to feel extremely welcome. Our very first impression was "wow, this is lovely." This experience continued throughout the whole of Mum's stay, 15.4.25 - 22.4.25. The atmosphere of the home is fabulous, all of the staff are dedicated to their job, and absolutely nothing is too much trouble for them. Each and every one of them goes above and beyond. Disappointed that at the moment there are no rooms available for Mum to have another stay. This just goes to show how good it is!

My stay was excellent in every way except for the food. However, the breakfasts were good. When you're in your 80s or 90s, a pork baguette for a Sunday lunch isn't exactly palatable. I'd much prefer a roast with potatoes and vegetables. Something simple and easy to eat. I feel I'm not alone in this opinion.

My Dad has been supported at Hanford for over 2 years by the team on Aynsley Unit. The care he has received has been fabulous, individualised, respectful, kind and caring. They haven't just been wonderful with Dad but have taken the time to get to know us all as a family. From walking through the door and being welcomed by the reception/admin and management team to the housekeepers, catering, maintenance and activities teams everyone is polite, chatty and makes you feel like part of the team. The care team are remarkable, compassionate, gentle and l cannot commend them highly enough for the care they give.

Meals were substandard when no supervision was available in the serving area. My room was not serviced for 50% of my 2 week stay. I was expecting a higher standard of professionalism for £1600 per week, most staff were excellent but they faced an uphill task.

The staff are always pleasant and caring and professional. The facilities are second to none and it has a comfortable homely feel even though we have only been visiting for a few weeks. Would definitely recommend.

Also, the most important person (my friend) seems very happy too.

I thought there may have been more activities going on during her stay. Mum commented she had lovely carers and the food was excellent. The rooms were a little on the dark side. Sometimes long wait for the telephone to be answered (Sundays only). Otherwise Mum and her daughter had a pleasant experience.

My review covers care for my husband which is excellent. The home is clear, offers welcoming coffee and cake to visitors, staff always helpful.
