He really enjoyed his stay on a week's respite, getting involved in some of the activities and enjoying all the delicious food on offer. All the staff were fantastic, and on departure, he was given a box of cupcakes, another lovely gesture. First class experience and a break for my mum.
Great service from start to finish. We will use it again for respite and when the time is right, full time residential care. Thank you!
From the very first second in the front door, we were made to feel extremely welcome. Our very first impression was "wow, this is lovely." This experience continued throughout the whole of Mum's stay, 15.4.25 - 22.4.25. The atmosphere of the home is fabulous, all of the staff are dedicated to their job, and absolutely nothing is too much trouble for them. Each and every one of them goes above and beyond. Disappointed that at the moment there are no rooms available for Mum to have another stay. This just goes to show how good it is!
My stay was excellent in every way except for the food. However, the breakfasts were good. When you're in your 80s or 90s, a pork baguette for a Sunday lunch isn't exactly palatable. I'd much prefer a roast with potatoes and vegetables. Something simple and easy to eat. I feel I'm not alone in this opinion.
My Dad has been supported at Hanford for over 2 years by the team on Aynsley Unit. The care he has received has been fabulous, individualised, respectful, kind and caring. They haven't just been wonderful with Dad but have taken the time to get to know us all as a family. From walking through the door and being welcomed by the reception/admin and management team to the housekeepers, catering, maintenance and activities teams everyone is polite, chatty and makes you feel like part of the team. The care team are remarkable, compassionate, gentle and l cannot commend them highly enough for the care they give.
Please note that the following observations have already been advised to local management. Some inexperienced members of staff entering bedrooms unannounced. Some staff have poor understanding of English, yet talking with residents partially deaf! More training and supervision is required for these people who put an extra burden on the regular staff. Meals were substandard when no supervision was available in the serving area. My room was not serviced for 50% of my 2 week stay. I was expecting a higher standard of professionalism for £1600 per week, most staff were excellent but they faced an uphill task.
The staff are always pleasant and caring and professional. The facilities are second to none and it has a comfortable homely feel even though we have only been visiting for a few weeks. Would definitely recommend.
I pop in most weeks and found the reception staff along with the rest of the care staff friendly and welcoming, I'm very happy with the care and accommodation given by all at Hanford Court Care Home. Also, the most important person (my friend) seems very happy too.
I thought there may have been more activities going on during her stay. Mum commented she had lovely carers and the food was excellent. The rooms were a little on the dark side. Sometimes long wait for the telephone to be answered (Sundays only). Otherwise Mum and her daughter had a pleasant experience.
My review covers care for my husband which is excellent. The home is clear, offers welcoming coffee and cake to visitors, staff always helpful.
Nice modern property, staff very friendly building looks well looked after as do all the rooms. I felt Mum was safe and well looked after.
The staff are always very helpful and the general appearance of the internal surroundings is very pleasant. The patient has to have a riser and lowering bed but we don't think it is up to a good standard. It is not a comfortable mattress.
Mum's only been there since November. She settled very well. I didn't think she would. From day one the staff and management have remembered her name! So smart and friendly, so far all good. Mum couldn't be in a better place. Thank you!
I can’t fault the care my grandad has/is receiving at Hanford Court, after him initially being very apprehensive about moving he is now integrating into daily life and has improved greatly from when he first moved. All the staff treat him as an individual and family are kept up to date with any information. We all know he is in safe hands.
Words are not enough to express our sincere gratitude for the kindness and wonderful support given to my wife and me whilst staying at Hanford Court Care Home. We received safe dementia care for my wife whilst I required professional convalescent/rehabilitation care following a hip operation (be it we resided in separate rooms and on separate floors). The attentive staff make one feel very welcome, and supportive and take pride to ensure your stay here is happy and memorable. We would have no hesitation recommending Hanford Court to any prospective guests. First-class care throughout!
My sister and I are extremely satisfied with our mum's care at Hanford Court. The internal and external surroundings are very pleasant and well maintained and the staff work very hard to provide a homely atmosphere with many varied activities. Mum has made many friends and is always telling us how happy she is - it gives us great peace of mind. A big thank you to all staff!
Since joining the care home, my sister has thrived. She enjoys the company of the other charming residents on her floor and agrees that all the staff are really caring and wonderful. As a visitor, I always feel welcome and at home and I know that my sister's needs are met 100%.
As a resident from April 2022, it has taken me until recently to adjust to my change of lifestyle. I am reconciled and understand how my life will be. The tick box is largely a waste of time for example staff range from excellent through to poor, willing to do the least they need to. Under facilities, a personal plus would be a simple gym but I realise this would be difficult to supervise. As requested I have marked every box of the course assessment.
My aunt has only been a resident for a few months but staff are helping her to 'settle in' and encouraging her to join in activities.
Enjoyed my stay, carers and all staff were excellent and welcoming. My room was spacious and very well equipped. A beautiful dining room and communal areas. Enjoyed the quiet, secluded gardens. My only slight complaint was the service of food at meals time and I regularly had luke warm hot meals.
