I cannot say enough about 'Hanford Court Care Home'. Everyone, from the carers, administration staff, catering staff and the recreation and leisure team are fantastic. Management of the home is excellent. My mother has settled in very well these last 12 months and her whole dementia has changed for
the better. she is her 'old' self - I have my mum back. I don't know what we would do without 'Hanford Court Care Home'.

My husband is treated with respect and love. A nominated carer spends one to one time with him and he is always clean and tidy. The accommodation is always spotless and smells fresh. Visitors are made to feel welcome and there are areas to socialise and spent time together, such as a coffee lounge,
garden and plenty of entertainment is arranged if wanted.

Always polite and caring. The staff appear to put themselves out to acknowledge the client relatives and other visitors making visiting times very pleasant. I would not hesitate to encourage anyone I know to come to live at this home.

Thank you so much to all the staff at Hanford Court. My dad made a remarkable recovery with the care and attention he received in a professionally run care home. Hanford Court standards are exceptional, immaculately maintained, wonderful staff. Excellent facilities and activities. It was a pleasure

I have been visiting my friend at Hanford Court regularly in the two years she has been a resident, she has been cared for with dignity and respect by all members of staff, who have come to know her individual needs, her likes and dislikes. Staff communicate with me (her deputy) in a timely and relevant
manner and I am reassured that she is in a safe and caring environment.

During the last several years I have visited a number of care homes to see friends and relatives. My experience tells me The Avery is second to none. The fact that it is purpose built of course makes all the difference. The staff are very friendly and always have a smile. For the residents there is
always some form of entertainment also outings to interesting places for those who are able to take part.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2012

Hello, my name is Gemma, and I am delighted to be the Home Manager here at Hanford Court.


Having the privilege to work here for the past 9 years, Hanford Court has truly become a second home for me.


With 17 years’ experience in the healthcare sector my previous roles have included, Carer/Senior Carer, Team Leader, Trainer, and Deputy Manager. I have also achieved qualifications such as NVQ Level 5, Social Care, and a Diploma in Sociology, where I have gained the skills and knowledge to succeed in my role today.


Within this time, I have shared many treasured moments with the residents I have had the pleasure to meet.


Seeing my residents smile each day gives me the motivation to perform at the highest level. One proud moment that I will cherish throughout my career was when I was able to fulfil one of my residents’ dreams of riding in a helicopter. It was so special just to see how happy they were.


I would best describe myself as very sociable. We have multiple cosy lounge areas throughout our home where you will often find me having a cuppa and a natter with one of our residents. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking and watching football.


Avery Healthcare, owners of Hanford Court, best stands out for their award-winning standards of care. And our home is no different. My favourite aspect of Hanford Court would be its beautiful, landscaped gardens which residents can enjoy all year round, whether that be planting crops to later be used by our talented culinary team or just simply soaking up the sun on a summer’s day. We have also recently installed our visiting pod which facilitates safe visiting for our residents and their loved ones.
