I can’t fault the care my grandad has/is receiving at Hanford Court, after him initially being very apprehensive about moving he is now integrating into daily life and has improved greatly from when he first moved. All the staff treat him as an individual and family are kept up to date with any information.
We all know he is in safe hands.

Words are not enough to express our sincere gratitude for the kindness and wonderful support given to my wife and me whilst staying at Hanford Court Care Home. We received safe dementia care for my wife whilst I required professional convalescent/rehabilitation care following a hip operation (be it

My sister and I are extremely satisfied with our mum's care at Hanford Court. The internal and external surroundings are very pleasant and well maintained and the staff work very hard to provide a homely atmosphere with many varied activities. Mum has made many friends and is always telling us how happy

Since joining the care home, my sister has thrived. She enjoys the company of the other charming residents on her floor and agrees that all the staff are really caring and wonderful.
As a visitor, I always feel welcome and at home and I know that my sister's needs are met 100%.

As a resident from April 2022, it has taken me until recently to adjust to my change of lifestyle. I am reconciled and understand how my life will be. The tick box is largely a waste of time for example staff range from excellent through to poor, willing to do the least they need to. Under facilities,
a personal plus would be a simple gym but I realise this would be difficult to supervise. As requested I have marked every box of the course assessment.

Enjoyed my stay, carers and all staff were excellent and welcoming. My room was spacious and very well equipped. A beautiful dining room and communal areas. Enjoyed the quiet, secluded gardens. My only slight complaint was the service of food at meals time and I regularly had luke warm hot meals.

My total experience when visiting Hanford Court Care Home from the moment you go through the door was staff are friendly, if you need talk to management they are always on hand for a quick chat. There is always activities going on and keeping residents active and motivated.

Everyone is very friendly and the staff keep me informed. Happy to answer any questions. Dad seems reasonably happy and does take part in activities. Very recently there are not many residents on the top floor and Dad is isolating himself in his room a lot. Activities were reduced initially because
of Covid but have not seemed to have started up fully yet. Dad enjoyed his shave/haircut.

My nan has been a resident of Hanford Court Care home since December 2022. All the staff are very helpful, friendly and accommodating. There are plenty of activities for the residents to do, if they wish. Nan has really settled in and loves it there. I would highly recommend the home to anyone in the
difficult situation of having to find their loved ones a new care home.

My mother arrived at Hanford Court in October 2022 and has remained there since that date.
I have been delighted with her care and support, including the many activities laid on daily. There are many opportunities for stimulation and enjoyment for residents, including hairdressing and beauty sessions
too. The staff have been wonderful and very caring. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home.

All staff from the front desk to resident carers, are both approachable and caring. Any questions asked are answered nothing is too much trouble.
Resident's rooms are adequate with private wet room and kept clean.

Generally the home is well run, with staff exercising a caring and professional attitude. However, sometimes there is a lack of attention to detail, e.g. quilt cover inside out on bed, carpet not particularly clean (not replaced before my father moved in in April). The food tends to be dried out by
the time it's served, having been cooked some time before meal times. This is a shame, because the menu is fine, and the food is clearly cooked professionally. Perhaps meal times could be realigned for when the food is just ready to be served?
Obviously, Covid has had its effect on lots of areas in the home.

The rooms are bright cheerful and well maintained. The food always looks plentiful and appetising and there always seems to be activities going on around the home but it is the professionalism, kindness and care shown by the staff that makes this home outstanding. Both my husband and I are so grateful
for the high-quality care my Mother in Law receives.

Generally the home is well run and staff are considerate and caring.
Decor has in the last 18 months become tired and in need of redecorating, understand that due to covid things have been let go, due to more obvious pressures.
Suggestion that may be a good idea, to send out a email update regarding
each resident to the family, to say how they are and any changes to our loved ones so that we can monitor with out having to speak to a different staff member with different opinions of their health and wellbeing.

Hanford Court Care Home is a lovely caring environment. My mum has been there for roughly six years. They always support the residents and relatives. A happy, busy place, always clean and welcoming. Lots of activities and outside trips. Very helpful during lockdown and put our minds at ease. Communication

Gemma Boot

Hello, my name is Gemma, and I am delighted to be the Home Manager here at Hanford Court.


Having the privilege to work here for the past 9 years, Hanford Court has truly become a second home for me.


With 17 years’ experience in the healthcare sector my previous roles have included, Carer/Senior Carer, Team Leader, Trainer, and Deputy Manager. I have also achieved qualifications such as NVQ Level 5, Social Care, and a Diploma in Sociology, where I have gained the skills and knowledge to succeed in my role today.


Within this time, I have shared many treasured moments with the residents I have had the pleasure to meet.


Seeing my residents smile each day gives me the motivation to perform at the highest level. One proud moment that I will cherish throughout my career was when I was able to fulfil one of my residents’ dreams of riding in a helicopter. It was so special just to see how happy they were.


I would best describe myself as very sociable. We have multiple cosy lounge areas throughout our home where you will often find me having a cuppa and a natter with one of our residents. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking and watching football.


Avery Healthcare, owners of Hanford Court, best stands out for their award-winning standards of care. And our home is no different. My favourite aspect of Hanford Court would be its beautiful, landscaped gardens which residents can enjoy all year round, whether that be planting crops to later be used by our talented culinary team or just simply soaking up the sun on a summer’s day. We have also recently installed our visiting pod which facilitates safe visiting for our residents and their loved ones.

Hi, I am Louise. I have worked at Hanford since 2012 and really enjoy it. It is homely, inviting, and the staff are compassionate, and some core staff have been here a very long time. The training team are excellent.

Lisa Powell

Lisa has worked for Avery for several years. She was an internal trainer. She has completed her Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care. Lisa is a very dedicated team member and is always willing to go above and beyond daily.

Kelly Hunt

Kelly has worked with us here at Hanford Court since 2012. She is an experienced team leader. She is very friendly and helpful. Kelly has a very infectious laugh, which she shares on a daily basis. She takes pride in her daily work and her team

Melanie Bailey

Job Title: Team Member Joined: 2022

Mel has been the team leader on the Doulton suite since 2022. She has been in care for many years and brings much experience. She loves to complete lots of fun activities with the residents

Lisa

Lisa Wilkinson

Job Title: well being Lead Joined: 2013

Lisa has worked for Avery for 13 years. She started as a carer on the memory care floor and progressed to a well-being assistant, later being promoted again to a well-being lead. She loves to engage with the residents and enjoys completing fun trips, entertainment and activities.
