From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was number one and very much cared for. I was very happy there and very well fed. I couldn't fail anything during my respite stay. Having the cinema there made it a doubly enjoyable stay.

Very warm welcome on arrival.
All staff very friendly and helpful.
Room and communal areas spotlessly clean.
Food really good, excellent choices.
The summer fayre was entertaining.
Only negative was being woken during the nights by a resident shouting loudly for a nurse.

Birchmere Mews Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I do not usually write reviews but feel compelled to share the positive experience we have had since Mum moved into Birchmere Mews.
A difficult decision, and sometimes challenging transition, was made so much easier by the staff who have been incredibly helpful, warm, friendly and supportive.
The
sensitivity of the staff towards Mum and the family has been touching and deeply appreciated.
Management staff at Birchmere have often provided a listening ear, are quick to respond to any questions or concerns, and they have personally gone the extra mile for Mum.
Now, two months after Mum's move, she has settled nicely. We all have. The manager and her wider staff are to be commended for this. We are all in a happier place because of them.
Reply from Michelle Larder, Home Manager at Birchmere Mews Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Thank you for your Kind words, We are glad that your Mother is settling in the home environment. I am glad you have found the experience positive and I will be sure to pass these kind words of praise onto the care team. Thank you

Mum was with Alder House for 7 weeks and received first class care, 100% of the time. the management team, carers, carers assistance gave mum amazing attention & were extremely thoughtful to her needs, both medically & emotionally. The care home is run in an extremely professional manner & my sister
and I were provided with fantastic support by everyone connected with mums well being.

My mother started living at Adelaide at the end of July. From the very start of her stay, she has been cared for by all members of staff, and they are so kind and helpful. Before Adelaide, mum was living on her own and could not cope. It's so comforting to know mum is now happy and cared for by so well.
The home is so clean, the food looks lovely, and mum is kept clean at all times. We cannot thank Adelaide enough for making us all so happy and for everything they have done to make the move so easy.

My mother has made good progress since arriving from hospital. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. All staff are exceptionally nice, caring and supportive. The challenge seems to be response time to requesting support. Sometimes my mother can wait up to an hour for someone to attend to her call.
Staff seem to be very busy and consideration should be given to the ratio of carers to residents.
Reply from Karen Holmes, Home Manager at Cliveden Manor Care Home - Avery Collection

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're so pleased to hear that your mother has made good progress since arriving and that you've found the rooms comfortable and our team caring and supportive. It's always encouraging to hear such positive comments about the environment and the dedication of our staff. We do, however, take your comments about response times very seriously. We understand how important it is for residents to receive prompt support, and were reviewing our staffing levels and care processes to ensure we're meeting the needs of all residents as effectively as possible.Your feedback is invaluable in helping us identify areas where we can improve, and we really appreciate you bringing this to our attention a

I am so impressed with the experience my husband has had this time in respite. He has been involved in so many diverse and interesting activities, which have kept him stimulated and occupied. He seems to have enjoyed them all, including games in 'the men's room'. I know he appreciates the support and
friendliness of the staff, as have I. I particularly appreciated the email updates. It was also useful to see photos of my husband happily participating (on social media).

As a family our experience of Southampton Manor Care Home has been excellent. Most importantly our dad has felt happy and settled there. The staff are kind and patient and have always been friendly to us when we have visited. We've enjoyed joining in some of the activities with our dad- exercises, flower
arranging, quizzes and more and we have been able to take him our into the garden when the weather has been good enough. We've had lunch with him on several occasions for a small cost, so we know ourselves that the meals are tasty and well presented. My brother and I as next of kin have always been kept informed by the nurses about how our dad has been doing healthwise. All in all we feel that we made the best choice in helping him move to Southampton Manor Care Home.

My Mother has been living in Bagshot Gardens for over a year now and as a family we are extremely pleased with the care she receives. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and we are kept up to date with all aspects of mums care. The home is beautiful and always clean and tidy and the outside
gardens are immaculate and somewhere beautiful for us to take mum when we visit as she loves all the plants! She is regularly taken on trips and particularly enjoys when they have events on and the singers. I would highly recommend Bagshot Gardens.

Fleet Hall Care Home - Avery Collection

My mother was resident at Fleet Hall in the Dementia unit for very nearly 2 years. During that time, she received excellent care. She had a lovely room where she was able to bring all her own pictures and ornaments from home. As her illness progressed and she became more confused and eventually lost
her mobility, the levels of care and attention were marvellous. In my view, the biggest asset of Fleet Hall is the compassionate staff team who looked after her so well despite my mother sometimes being challenging. When my mother entered into the 'end of life' phase they were wonderful and carried me through that particularly difficult time. I would absolutely recommend Fleet Hall to anyone navigating the difficult journey of dementia.

We were so lucky to get mum a place at Elton House Watford. Not only do the staff cater for the residence but for the visitors, the staff were so caring and very good with mum but also with us especially when she was passing away compared to what we were used to it was like a 5 star hotel. We had
to move her from another home due to problems. The rooms were lovely done, food fantastic and it was so peaceful and we could take mum outside on a terrace and get her some fresh air. We were constantly update by the home and the doctors about her needs. I wished we had her there from the start as mum would hear certain voices and would try and smile. The downside was district nurse and his senior but this is not an issue with the care home. Highly recommend this care home to anyone.

Disappointing. Husband wore same clothes 3 days, mon-wed, slept in them. No shower. I had to get him to shower. There are various ways to follow up request/advice to shower. On visits he appeared lost. Saturday afternoon had coffee in lounge/foyer during which 3 staff members stood in foyer - lift opened
body appeared on gurney taken to ambulance, no one had the courtesy to forewarn us. Friday confirmed with 'admin' collection on Sunday after lunch. On arrival bedlam noone appeared to know who was responsible for what - I was told all bank staff. Clothing missing requested from rude - on his phone - ignored - male nurse on two occasions Saturday. Three requests for meds took 1 and a half hours from staff another ward dealt - unable to find file - assessment papers loose under file papers, no paper to write on. Meal delayed food out - sure cold. All crockery from breakfast on unit at 1:45 pm not even clean spoon! No menus.

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention. We are obviously disappointed that you have had a negative experience. We take all feedback very seriously, as our aim is to provide the best possible care. As your husband was on our Residential Suite with your agreement, he was deemed to have capacity. We do encourage our residents to take showers and change clothing, however we cannot enforce this if they decline. We are very sorry to hear you felt a lack of empathy and compassion, when one of our residents left the home for the final time, as a home we always pay our last respects in a dignified manner. We strive to provide an outstanding quality of care and always try an take on board any feed back from residents and their families.Once again we are sorry that you felt that your husband's respite stay did not meet your expatiations. We are more than happy to discuss this further and a senior member of our team will reach out privately to you.

The absolute best thing about Greensand House is the staff, they are so amazing. They know my mum so well. Mum is well cared for, fed well and entertained. Her room is always spotless.
