I am very pleased with the care my sister has received. Her room is always kept clean and tidy, and the carers look after her in a kind and caring way. The activities etc, provided by the home are something for the residents to all enjoy. The dining room and food are more like a 5-star hotel, which
she enjoys, plus, if they cannot manage to cut their food, there is always help at hand.

The management, reception team, all seniors, carers, housekeeping team, wellbeing team and kitchen staff have all been fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble, they are so friendly and helpful. The care home is lovely, it is always clean and smells clean (the best care home I have been in - no smell
of urine). We can't thank every one enough for looking after Mum so well.

My aunt has been in your home for 3 months now. The care she has received has been excellent by all members of staff, from the housekeeping to the management. Nothing is too much trouble and there is always someone to talk to if need be. The cleanliness, entertainment, food, laundry etc is comparable
with a 5 star hotel. Relatives are made to feel so welcome. We could not have picked a better place for my aunt to live.

Very welcoming and attentive staff. Visiting is never a problem and residents and visitors are encouraged to stay and participate in any activities or juts to have a coffee and cake.
Any questions or concerns are dealt with efficiently and professionally by both the management and care staff.
My aunt
tells me she is very impressed by the standard of care and inclusion in activities she receives.

I cannot praise the team at Mousehold View enough, they have all turned what could have been a very distressing time for myself and my father into an easy smooth transition into residential care for him.
From the moment I telephoned enquiring about short-notice respite care due to my own health issue
every member of staff from the manager, the Reception team, carers, housekeeping and every other member of staff I've encountered on my visits have been welcoming, approachable and genuinely friendly.
Dad's dementia had left him isolated due to not being able to engage with people easily, now he can have meals in a friendly social environment, and we can enjoy coffee and cake in a cafe setting without Dad experiencing anxiety by being in a busy public setting, his room is his safe place but he knows he can just open the door and he's not alone, someone will be around outside to greet him with a friendly hello or ask if he's ok.
I can leave after a visit knowing Dad's in safe caring hands. Thank you

The home is absolutely fabulous but it needs more staff. Dad was on the top floor but it felt as though he was out of sight, out of mind. His seat in his shower was broken and the bath on his floor was out of service most of his stay. Also the car park is very small but staff use it so there are not
enough spaces. The staff are wonderful but the top floor is lonely for residents and staff.
Reply from Starr Walker, Home Manager at Mousehold View Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you for taking the time to review the home, we appreciate all the feedback given. I am sorry that Dad felt lonely on his stay upstairs as the top floor has only recently opened there are only a few residents living up there presently however there is always a staff member available. We encourage all the residents to use all available facilities in the home as there are activities and more company on the other floors. As the top floor becomes fuller, we expect it will start to feel more lively. I have also confirmed with the maintenance operative on sight that the bath was only out of service for one day and his shower chair was safe to use so I can only apologise if this was not communicated to Dad. Thank you for your kind words about the staff I will certainly pass this on as we do have a wonderful team.

Unfortunately, the service has slipped recently since the change of management. Seven staff were laid off for no apparent reason, and some of those were excellent. There used to be a very warm welcome, but now it does not feel as welcoming at all. The activities seem to have also reduced in number.
Reply from Starr Walker, Home Manager at Mousehold View Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you for taking the time to provide us with a review, we take all feedback very seriously. Unfortunately, some of the staff have made the personal decision to leave the business however we have now recruited some wonderful and experienced staff into these positions. I do appreciate that it can be disheartening when staff that you have grown familiar with are no longer at the home. I hope that once you get to know the new staff that you start to feel more welcome again as we strive for a homely welcoming environment. Activity planners are provided to all residents weekly and we aim to provide a varied planner each week we have now recruited a new head of wellbeing and will welcome resident and relative feedback when she starts. If you would like to arrange a meeting to discuss any of this any further please do contact us at the home alternatively you can always ask to speak with me when you are next here.

The staff at Mousehold View were absolutely tireless in ensuring my dad enjoyed a comfortable, happy respite and recovery period with them after being very ill in hospital. Their sincerity, attention to detail and genuine warmth were so evident and we found that in every staff member we met. We were
made to feel as welcome as my dad on our visits enjoying coffee, cake and chats with him and the staff in that gorgeous environment.
Under their care, Dad made an excellent recovery and has been able to adjust to his new home so well. He felt safe, respected, cared for and understood.
We have experienced many care homes over our 15 years of looking after older family members and Mousehold View is in a league of its own. Yes, the building and decor are stunning but the standard of care and sincere affection the staff have for their residents is really the beating heart at the centre of it all. An absolute gem!

Mum stayed for respite and was originally booked in for the week but this was extended for another week, as Mum was really happy during her stay and is already asking when is she going back. Knowing that mum was so well cared for, was a huge relief to us also.
The whole care team and staff were all
so lovely, caring and considerate and made mum and family who visited, very welcome. Tea/coffee was offered and honestly, nothing was too much trouble.
Thank you all again, what a wonderful team you are and you should all feel so proud.

My mum came to Mousehold View for 9 days of respite care whilst we had a holiday. Her care was first class and all the staff went out of their way to make her feel welcome and relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble. Her room was beautiful, spacious and with en-suite facilities. My family visited daily
and we were made to feel very welcome too and were offered drinks. They spoke very highly of her care and reported that my mum was having a brilliant time. She was encouraged to interact with the other residents and take part in the various activities and was very happy and relaxed. When we collected her she said she didn't really want to go home so she obviously enjoyed her stay. Thank you so much to all the staff for their wonderful care. It was so good to be able to go away in the knowledge that she was well looked after and happy.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.881)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.881) out of 10 for Mousehold View Care Home - Avery Collection is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.881 for Mousehold View Care Home - Avery Collection is calculated as follows: ( (343 Excellents x 5) + (24 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 377 Ratings = 4.881
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mousehold View Care Home - Avery Collection is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 77 registered maximum number of service users is 15.4, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
