Alice Court Care Home

from Dawn C (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 12 January 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother in law has been a resident for 2 weeks now. The staff are all truly caring & nothing is too much trouble, they treat mum & visitors like their own family.
The actual home is second to none, more like a 5* hotel with fantastic facilities & the price is surprisingly similar to most care homes
in the town.
No plastic covered armchairs in a row just lovely modern furniture.
They also go all out to entertain & keep the residents occupied, engaged & happy. They even have a cinema room & hair salon.
Well done all.

Lavender Lodge Care Home - Avery Healthcare

from R H (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 12 January 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Father in law was well cared for and was well loved by all the staff.
The meals were well cooked and varied with a well planned menu
The activities team were hard working and always had a daily plan for the residents.
My Mother in law was welcomed any time to spend the day and was able to have
lunch and tea and biscuits in the afternoon, watching telly and joining in with any activities.
This is a brilliant well run care home and we would have no hesitation recommending it to anyone.
Reply from Pranav Vaidya, Home Manager at Lavender Lodge Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. We are delighted to hear that your Father-in-law received the care and attention he deserved during his time with us, and that the staff made him feel loved and well looked after.
Your recommendation means a lot to us. We truly appreciate the trust you've placed in our care.

When I visited Elton House I knew instantly that this was the right place for Mum. It felt like home, there was a nice buzz. Residents were mixing with staff and it there it had a homely feel. The rooms were light, spacious and Mum's room was newly rennovated and had nice decor.
With late stage Alzheimers
we needed specialist care. The carers are outstanding. Nadia and Simona who manage the dementia unit were unfailingly professional, kind and caring, both to my mum and to my family.

My mum was looked after with dignity and respect . She was always dressed, scrupuously clean, made-up and had her favourite perfume applied, even as she approached EOL. Her medical care was excellent, when a doctor was needed, or a nurse, they are called.

I cant recommend the Elton House team more.

Reply from Jenny Bloomberg, Client Liason Manager at Elton House Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you so much for taking the time to share this with us, your feedback inspires us to continue providing the highest standard of care.

My mother in law is a completely new woman since moving to Sonning Gardens. Her mobility is vastly improved, her overall health is well maintained and her standards of personal hygiene and wellbeing are so much better due to the high standard of care, food and activities on offer. Without exception
every member of staff from reception to management and medical/care have been very kind and friendly, we are always welcomed by name and with a smile. The communication from them is proactive and very detailed and has helped us ensure MIL has everything she needs. From spending every day in her room, she is now in the company of others and frequently uses the cafe, lounge and activities areas on a daily basis, joining in everything. During the Christmas period the staff went out of their way to make it fun and colourful. We could not be happier with her care and thoroughly recommend this home to anyone who wants the best for their loved one. Nothing is too much trouble for them!
Reply from Tracey Van Zyl, Client Liaison Manager at Sonning Gardens Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you very much for your kind and thoughtful feedback. We are delighted to hear that your mother-in-law is enjoying the activities and that you have noticed improvements in her overall health and mobility. The team at Sonning Gardens are committed to providing person-centred care that supports both wellbeing and independence, so it is rewarding to know that this is making a difference. Our team pride themselves on creating a warm, supportive environment which is at the heart of everything we do. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for your continued trust in the team.

My father resisted moving to a care home for a long time, but in September this year he had a couple of falls and after a few weeks in hospital he decided he did not want to go back to his own home. I was initially concerned that he might find it hard to settle in but my fears were groundless. From
Day One the nursing staff went out of their way to meet his needs, and the friendliness of all members of staff has really helped him. He is happy, settled and receiving excellent care.
Reply from Sonia Weller, Client Liaison Manager at Rosebery Manor Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you for taking the time to leave a review for Rosebery Manor. Many enquiries are not always in need for immediate admission. It can take a little time for the benefits of onsite care and nursing support to fully confirm the decision to move from a family home. We are so pleased that this has worked well for your father who made his own informed decision to join us at Rosebery.

Acacia Lodge Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My mum is a relatively new resident at Acacia Lodge. She was admitted 7/10/2025 before needing residential care, mum spent 6 weeks in hospital after suffering with gastroenteritis and a fall.
I visited many care home, majority of which were in the Oldham area. By chance I decided to visit Acacia Lodge,
the customer services advisor took the time to explain all the ins and outs of navigating the move into residential care. She guided me through the complex system, helping alleviate the stress and upset of the difficult decision I've had to make.
Once mum had been offered a place at Acacia Lodge the accountant was also a great help. She guided me though the financial requirements with empathy and patience. Having to put a loved one into residential care is very difficult and stressful time, but the team at Acacia Lodge helped lighten the load.
Mum has now been at Acacia Lodge for approximately 5 weeks. She has settled in very well.
My only complaint is with communication, as explained above, Mum does not have any complex needs or medical issues, but functions better with a purpose to the day. She needs to be occupied/busy, even if its helping the carers with their duties. She needs stimulation all the time and it would benefit everyone involved with her care to know what ticks her boxes.
Once mums property is sold, she will be personally funding her care at Acacia Lodge. I have found that the weekly charges are VERY HIGH in comparison to other care homes of a similar standard.
Mum has settled very well at Acacia Lodge and moving her to another care home may be detrimental to her health and wellbeing. Ideally I would prefer her to stay at Acacia Lodge , but I may have to look elsewhere. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss the charges to see if a reduction can be agreed.
Reply from Collette Gardiner, Manager at Acacia Lodge Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for taking the time to share your experience regarding your mum's recent move to Acacia Lodge. We truly appreciate your kind words about our team and the support provided during what we understand is a very challenging and emotional time. It's wonderful to hear that your mum has settled in well and that our staff were able to make the transition smoother for you both.
We also appreciate your constructive feedback regarding communication and the need for more purposeful activities for your mum. Keeping residents engaged and stimulated is a priority for us, and your insights will help us tailor her care plan to better meet her individual needs. We will ensure the team is fully aware of what motivates and interests her so that she feels fulfilled and valued each day.
Regarding your concerns about fees, we completely understand that this is an important consideration. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you in more detail.

My mother moved into Waterhouse Manor in October 2025. Our family have been very impressed with the level of care that she has received at Waterhouse. All of the staff are so kind and caring. The activity schedule is varied and interesting with lots of fun, stimulating events within the home and also
trips outside of the home. The Christmas fair was fantastic, lots of fun for the residents and their families. The home is always very clean and the food a good standard. I would definitely recommend Waterhouse Manor.

My dad needed a permanent placement following 12 weeks in a temporary home. My husband and myself looked at several homes and didn't feel any of them would be appropriate. staff are lovely and kind. Dad's room is pleasantly furnished and overlooks the garden. This is a fantastic home.

Just waned to take time to write a review about Esher Manor Care home, Surrey.
My mum has been a resident there for 2 months now and I cannot tell you how happy she is. We tried a couple of care homes beforehand for respite but I have to say this place puts the others to shame.
As you enter the care
home it's like entering a hotel lobby, lots of people sitting around drinking coffees, chatting with music in the background, such a lovely welcoming atmosphere. The carers and the team are amazing with activities in the morning, singers in the aft and movies in the cinema room in the evenings. The outings and activities are endless and the resident rooms are spotless.
The carers and management team really go out of their way to make sure my mum is having the best time.
So glad I found this place for my mum and will be definatly recommending it. If mum is happy we are all happy. Thanks you Esher Manor Care home........Susan

My mother was a resident of Aran Court from August 2025 to October 2025 in the EAB Unit on the first floor. We were impressed with the Care Home standards and the way they treated my mother as a resident, patient and person, with dignity and respect. The medical nurses were brilliant as were the care
assistants. The facilities were great and the care home was secure. There was also good parking and I was always able to find a place to park. Everyone at Aran Court were friendly and courteous to visitors and felt at home when I went to visit my mother. There was always fresh food and as my mother was immobile and couldn't get to the dining room, so they always brought her food to the room. They did everything they could for my mother and I will aways be grateful for their service. The staff at the management office and the receptionists were always friendly and helpful also. I would give Aran Court more than 5 stars if I was able to, they were amazing the way they supported my mother!

One of the most difficult decisions that a family member may have to make us to to arrange for full time residential care of a lived one.

When we visited Edenbridge Manor in August 2023 with my cousin, it immediately gave us a feeling of comfort and welcoming that put us all at ease, and pave the

way to have the 'difficult discussion'.

My cousin has been a resident since then, and celebrated her 100th birthday in 2024 - where the staff put on a party for her and around 25 of her visiting friends. Nothing was too much trouble for them to ensure she had a great day.

The care and attention to her health and well-being is wonderful, and gives us full confidence in the quality of the service provided by the team of wonderful staff.

A colleague of mine also has a relative in another of the Avery Care Homes, and feels the same support as we do.

Reply from Jane Henri, Customer Service Manager at Edenbridge Manor Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for sharing such a meaningful and personal review. We understand how difficult the decision to arrange residential care can be, and we're very pleased that Edenbridge Manor provided a sense of comfort and reassurance from your first visit. It's wonderful to hear that your cousin has settled so well and that her 100th birthday celebration was such a special occasion. Our team takes great pride in going the extra mile to create memorable moments, and your kind words will mean a great deal to them. We're grateful for your confidence in the care and support we provide, and for your wider recognition of Avery Care Homes. Thank you for your trust and support, Kind Regards, Jane
