I have rather mixed feelings about Edenbridge Manor. While I cannot fault the facilities and activities for the more able-minded residents, I felt that those on the dementia floor did not receive the care they required, most likely due to understaffing/lack of trained staff. On the occasions we visited,
the care team appeared overstretched and while certain members did an excellent job, others less willing to leap into action, especially with more difficult/upsetting residents. Considering the added cost for dementia residents, this needs improvement.

From what I have seen and experienced, if the time comes for one of my own parents to be placed in care, I will not be using Avery. The fact that their care home fees are payable for 14 days after a resident's death is grossly excessive. The CMA states that a period of no more than three days is appropriate and having to pay such hefty fees alongside funeral costs is the last thing that any grieving family should have to worry about

Reply from Jane Henri, Customer Service Manager at Edenbridge Manor Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased that you recognised the quality of our facilities and activities. We appreciate that experiences and perceptions can vary, and we are sorry to hear that aspects of your visits left you with concerns.

At Edenbridge Manor, we are committed to providing high-quality care and support for all residents, including those living with dementia, and our teams work hard to meet each individual's needs. We value all feedback as it helps us continue to review and enhance our services.

We also understand that discussions around care fees can be sensitive, particularly during difficult times for families. Our policies are communicated transparently and are applied consistently. Should you wish to discuss any of your comments further, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly. Kind regards, Jane

My mother moved into Edenbridge Manor yesterday. I was worried about how it was going to be, but it shouldn't have been. The reception was so lovely and welcoming, putting my mother (and me) at ease in her new circumstances.
Jane, Jas - you were fantastic.

We will be sure to pass your lovely feedback on to Jane and Jas - they'll be thrilled to know they made such a difference. Supporting our residents and their families is at the heart of what we do, and we're so pleased your mother felt welcomed and comfortable.

I wanted to express my sincere thanks to you and your entire team for the wonderful care my mum received during the three and a half years she lived at the care home. From the very beginning, we were always greeted with warmth and kindness, which meant so much to our family. This compassion was reflected
throughout the home - from reception to the kitchen, care, and medical teams - everyone showed genuine dedication and respect.

It was clear how hard you all worked to ensure my mum, and every resident, was treated with dignity, kindness, and care each day. Knowing she was surrounded by people who truly cared gave us great comfort and peace of mind. Thank you for creating such a supportive environment and for everything you did to make my mum's time with you happy and comfortable. Your efforts will always be deeply appreciated.

Reply from Jane Henri, Customer Service Manager at Edenbridge Manor Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. We're grateful for the trust your family placed in us over those three and a half years, and we're touched to hear that the warmth and dedication of our team brought you peace of mind. It was an honor to be part of your mum's journey, and your appreciation will be shared with everyone across the home. Thank you again for taking the time to leave such a meaningful review. One of the most difficult decisions that a family member may have to make us to to arrange for full time residential care of a lived one.

When we visited Edenbridge Manor in August 2023 with my cousin, it immediately gave us a feeling of comfort and welcoming that put us all at ease, and pave the

way to have the 'difficult discussion'.

My cousin has been a resident since then, and celebrated her 100th birthday in 2024 - where the staff put on a party for her and around 25 of her visiting friends. Nothing was too much trouble for them to ensure she had a great day.

The care and attention to her health and well-being is wonderful, and gives us full confidence in the quality of the service provided by the team of wonderful staff.

A colleague of mine also has a relative in another of the Avery Care Homes, and feels the same support as we do.

Reply from Jane Henri, Customer Service Manager at Edenbridge Manor Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for sharing such a meaningful and personal review. We understand how difficult the decision to arrange residential care can be, and we're very pleased that Edenbridge Manor provided a sense of comfort and reassurance from your first visit. It's wonderful to hear that your cousin has settled so well and that her 100th birthday celebration was such a special occasion. Our team takes great pride in going the extra mile to create memorable moments, and your kind words will mean a great deal to them. We're grateful for your confidence in the care and support we provide, and for your wider recognition of Avery Care Homes. Thank you for your trust and support, Kind Regards, Jane

Dad has now been a resident at Edenbridge Manor for almost a year. The carers look after him with great compassion. He enjoys the food, so much so that we have had to buy some more clothes as he is growing out of his current ones! Dad loves going out in the minibus to local cafes and it is really good
that he can have a regular change of scene. The home has the feel of a hotel and is kept lovely and clean. It is really nice to be greeted like a friend by the staff when we go to visit. It helps to make visiting much more enjoyable when you can talk to the staff.
Reply from Jane Henri, Customer Service Manager at Edenbridge Manor Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you so much for sharing your lovely feedback. We're delighted to hear that your dad has been happy with us at Edenbridge Manor over the past year and that he is so well cared for by our compassionate team. It's wonderful to know he enjoys the food and our outings in the minibus, as providing variety, enjoyment, and a sense of normality is very important to us. Your kind comments about the home's cleanliness, atmosphere, and our welcoming staff mean a great deal. The care our mother received for all of her time with you was excellent.
Especially the final 2 weeks of her time at your home.
The dignity and respect she was shown was a credit to all of those who cared for her.
As a family, we couldn't ask for anymore, Edenbridge Manor we would recommend 100%.

As much as I can see from my weekly visit that I make to see my sister I am confident that choosing The Avery last January has proved to be a good one. The building and its decor are bright and pleasant to be in. The layout is also spacious and the furniture is comfortable, with tv's in all the lounges
and rooms. The staff at all levels show a strong compassion towards the residents and provide physical and sometimes emotional support. Entertainment is provided every day by the staff which is hugely beneficial to the stimulation of the residents. I do notice that tea and snacks are always available and good quality food is provided by the canteens. I have only one point to raise which is, with all the above that is available I would like to see a routine of exercise introduced that would help shed some calories if there is not one at the moment.
Reply from Jane Henri, Customer Service Manager at Edenbridge Manor Care Home - Avery HealthcareThank you for taking the time to share your kind and thoughtful feedback. We're delighted to hear that your sister has settled well at The Avery and that you feel confident in your decision. Your comments about our environment, facilities, staff compassion, daily activities, and catering are greatly appreciated and will be shared with the whole team. We're especially pleased that the entertainment and availability of refreshments have had a positive impact. Thank you also for your constructive suggestion regarding exercise routines. Supporting residents' physical wellbeing is very important to us, and your feedback will be considered as we continue to develop and review our activities. We truly value your ongoing support and weekly visits. kind regards Jane

My mother was the first resident at Edenbridge Manor Care Home moving to the home in early spring 2021. She had four and a half years enjoying the company and the care as her memory declined. Mum passed away recently at 98 after a short stay in hospital.
The home is a truly lovely place and I was
always confident that she was safe and comfortable, she made some lovely friends with both other residents and the staff. The staff, headed up with the new manager, are a great team, so happy and enthusiastic. I really believe Edenbridge Manor Care home was the very best next thing to my mum being in her own home and I will always be grateful to them.

Edenbridge Manor is a lovely, welcoming care home. We visit a friend there every week. Our friend is well looked after, has the companionship of the other residents and enjoys taking part in the many activities organised on a daily basis. The staff are very friendly and caring and greet us as regular
visitors. Our friend recently had a birthday and the home arranged a marvellous afternoon tea party for us and provided a super birthday cake. The home is very clean and is maintained to a hotel standard. Our friend appreciates her comfortable private en-suite room which is large enough to entertain occasional guests. Thank you very much.

I moved my mother from another care home where she had been a resident for 18 months. The difference is night and day. Edenbridge Manor is so welcoming with many opportunities for Mum to get involved. Mum was in care following a complex fracture. In the other care home she hardly walked anywhere, in
Edenbridge she walks everywhere. This is so much to do with the caring staff who Mum compliments regularly. I could ask for nothing more for Mum knowing she is happy, safe and so well cared for.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 85 registered maximum number of service users is 17, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2025

I am the General Manager at Edenbridge Manor, part of Avery Healthcare, a role I have held since October 2025 after previously serving as Deputy Manager. Originally from Romania, I began my career as a Senior Midwife before moving to England in 2016. I joined Avery Healthcare as a Care Assistant at Silvermere Care Home and have progressed through dedication and hard work, including a leadership role at Esher Manor Care Home. I am passionate about delivering person-centred care, supporting my team, and creating a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where residents feel valued, respected, and truly at home.

Job Title: Care Manager Joined: 2026

I have 18 years of dedicated experience in health and social care, having progressed through roles including Care Worker, Senior Carer, Team Leader, and for the last six years, Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager, and Head of Care.

My experience spans a wide range of complex care needs including early-stage and EMI dementia, Huntington’s disease, mental health conditions, brain injuries, multiple sclerosis, neurological disorders, learning disabilities, and autism. I completed my Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification in 2009, and I also hold a Train the Trainer qualification in Moving and Handling.

I originally trained and worked across Aberdeen and Inverness in Scotland, before relocating to England in June 2018. In March 2019, I joined Greensleeves Care in Crawley as a Senior Carer and was later promoted to Assistant Manager. Over the last six years, I have successfully held senior leadership roles in residential and nursing care settings.

At Middleton Grove Nursing Home, I led significant quality improvement initiatives as Head of Care, successfully building a strong, cohesive team, promoting effective communication, and championing equality and diversity. I operate an open-door policy and lead by example—always supporting, encouraging, and inspiring staff. Within just 16 weeks, I implemented a targeted action plan that raised the standards of care and compliance to a high level.

In June 2024, I took on the challenge of working at Ifield Park Care Home – Ellwood Place, which was under special restrictions at the time. Thanks to focused leadership and team development, restrictions were lifted by mid-August 2024, and new admissions were resumed. I also supported improvement efforts at Woodroffe-Benton House, which had two “Requires Improvement” KLOEs. In March 2025, a CQC inspection rated both services as “Good”, which was a significant achievement.

My work includes:
• Leading care plan and risk assessment improvements
• Teaching staff person-centred care (PCS) approaches
• Managing MED ECARE medication systems and training staff
• Completing monthly audits and KPIs
• Promoting wellbeing, dignity, and quality of life for all residents
I work with compassion, empathy, and professionalism—putting my heart into every role. I believe in
“treating residents the way you would want to be treated.” A resident’s smile is the greatest sign that
I have done my job to the best of my ability.
